AMERICANS DEMAND #AUDITTHEVOTE. YOUR DEMOCRACY IS AT STAKE.

1. Hillary was leading the polls before the election. 

2. Hillary won the popular vote by >1.72 million. 

3. EXIT polls do NOT match up with results in 4 key states. Hillary won according to exit polls in NC, PA, WI, and FL. 

4. Trump won these with RAZOR-THIN margins. Also this. A shift of just 55,000 votes to Hillary in PA, MICH & WISC would’ve made Hillary the winner. 

5. More than 20 states have faced major election hacking attempts, DHS says. 

The DHS official — speaking on background because of the subject’s sensitive nature — explained that hackers of all stripes are constantly testing the digital defenses of every state’s public-facing election systems. But in 20-plus states, the agency determined that these intrusion attempts have become what DHS calls “probing of concern.”

6. Feds believe Russians hacked Florida elections-system vendor. (And remember they hacked the DNC emails). 

7. Trump has lowest approval ratings of any president-elect in recent history. LOWER than Hillary according to PEW results. The only time this happened in recent history was in 2000. Gore had higher grades.

8. There were irregularities in many key states. 

In Florida: Lost by 120,000. One Attorney quoted in article: “Tallahassee-based VR Systems was also allegedly hacked. The company provides electronic poll books for a number of jurisdictions which communicate in real time with each county’s voter registration system. According to the company’s web site VR Systems serves almost all of Florida’s counties and 14 other states.“

In Wisconsin: Lost by 27,000 votes. BUT: “But Clinton won only counties using all-paper ballots, the computer voting experts said. In the counties using a mix of electronic and paper-based voting systems that President Obama won in 2012, Clinton lost by 1-2 percent. In the Obama counties using all paperless machines, she lost by 10 to 15 percent”

In North Carolina: Lost by 178,000. “… what happened across the state on Election Day has become the focus of serious concern for the election integrity experts. In one Democratic epicenter, Durham County, the state’s voter registration database and e-poll books tied into it were down, prompting long lines, delays and necessitating people fill out provisional ballots. The data was also scrambled, with voter rolls in the wrong locations, people tagged as voting when they had not, and people not on lists even though they had their state registration cards. Those snafus were reported to election protection call centers.”

“… if it was the latter, who was behind the cyberattack? These questions must be answered immediately, especially if the answers lead to questions about the integrity of the election process in other jurisdictions.

In Michigan: Lost by 11,000 votes. “Election night’s unofficial returns found Trump ahead by 11,000 votes. But 87,000 ballots did not show a presidential vote, the election integrity team said, which broke a 49,000 empty-vote record from previous presidential election”

In Pennsylvania: Lost by 68,000 votes. “… The concern is that 16 counties are still using aging countywide tabulators which Finnish computer security specialist Harry Hursti has shown can be easily hacked to change the reported results. These computers use old versions of Microsoft operating systems, which have security vulnerabilities that have never been fixed.”

9. Unsurprisingly, in many places, HILLARY won in counties using paper votes but lost in those using electronic in key states. For example: North Carolina  and Wisconsin .

10. Russia confirms it has been in touch with Trump throughout the campaign. 

And there’s so much more. Like the fact that manipulating vote count in just a dozen areas in few key states would be enough.

Remember, this is NOT a campaign that will be made effective through harassment. This information has been compiled so we can plead our cases to these electors. We NEED them to understand what a Trump presidency can and will mean for our country. 

WE NOW HAVE ELECTOR INFORMATION FOR ALL 16, NON-BINDING STATES. PLEASE SHARE THE LIST WITH EVERYONE WHO’S INTERESTED IN THE ELECTOR MOVEMENT.

How to go about contacting them

CALLING is the most likely method to grab their attention. Emily Ellsworth is someone who’s worked in Congress before and they provided some tips on how to gain attention through calling. We’ve provided phone numbers, addresses, and emails. BE PERSUASIVE. Here are 17 power persuasive techniques. 

If you have no idea where to start, general template emails/letters can be found HERE and HERE. Politeness is essential, but do not let that undermine the urgency of the situation. 

Here are a few points that you can address upon contacting an elector:

A personal account of the situation and how it will impact you.

Accounts of other people who are living in fear of what the future may bring.

Statistics are always eye-catching; ie. hate crimes are expected to skyrocket following the election.

We do not want racism and oppression to represent America. 

Even if you are or are not a republican, you can write as if you are one. Show concern expressed by many leading GOP members that Trump’s ideals do NOT represent the party platform.

Many of them are parents, question what this would mean for their future to see a country so plagued by hatred.

Name the republicans who publicly did not support Trump.

Hillary won the popular vote. She is predicted to have won by more than 1.7 MILLION. How can we honor democracy if our system does not respect the opinion of the majority? The voice of the people has NOT been heard.

If necessary, emphasize that Hillary Clinton would be unable to accomplish much with a republican-led Senate and House.

Remind them that they can abstain, too. Being anti-Hillary doesn’t necessarily guarantee being pro-Trump. 

A few of them did not support Trump in the primary. Use this info.

Remind the electors that they are only MORALLY bound to vote within their party. There is nothing legally binding that causes them to vote a certain way. If morals were a genuine concern, voting to promote oppression would be more unforgivable than crossing party lines.

If you are from the same state as the elector, try to put into perspective what his presidency would mean for you and marginalized groups in your community.

PENNSYLVANIA IS ONE OF THE STATES THAT MAY JOIN THE NATIONAL POPULAR VOTE INTERSTATE COMPACT. This is an agreement that elevates the importance of the popular vote. This compact has not yet been been passed into law. However, emphasizing this pact to the 20 Pennsylvania electors is still important. 

THIS is a petition you can sign in support of the electoral college voting in favor of the popular majority. It needs 3,000,000 signatures. It is a step toward spreading the word, but we can’t sign the petition and just stop there.

How to spread the word if you do not wish to directly contact electors

Other ways to support the cause

#NotMyPresident T-Shirts If interested, order closes on November 23rd. Prices are $20, and orders will be shipped directly to your address. All proceeds go directly to Planned Parenthood. Buy one. Convince your friends and family to buy one. Wear them to protests. If anyone can gift a shirt, let me know. Link HERE.

I know that $20 is a lot for people to afford. Therefore, if I can find a website that will also donate proceeds directly to a charity/cause I will try to make #NotMyPresident WRISTBANDS and HATS, too. Let me know if you are interested.

Organize protests, or spread the word of ones you know are taking place.

I will be making another document, constantly updated, that will list the #NotMyPresident protests taking place. If you know of any, send me the TIME, the DATE, and the LOCATION. If you go to college, use it as a platform to spread the word. Democratic voting is highest in the most populated areas and among educated voters.

If you have connections to people on social media with a lot of followers, try to spread the message to them, too. Repost on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and any other website you can think of.

YOU CAN PARTICIPATE IF YOU’RE NOT FROM AMERICA. Please don’t feel like this movement is limited to Americans. A Trump presidency will affect other countries, too. Spread the word, support the movement, donate to those who are in need, if you can.

Petitions Won't Help Faithless Electors. Paying Their Legal Fees Might.

If they switch their votes to stop Donald Trump, they could face fines and legal fees.

Everyone’s seen the petition imploring electoral college voters to follow the popular vote, which would deny Trump the presidency. This is a brief and informative article about the reality of what we’re asking electors: if they vote against the electoral college, they will face fines and perhaps legal prosecution.

On average, the fine is about $1000. What we need to do, more even than spread the petition, is:

Start contacting electors en masse and make the argument that Trump, who did not win the popular vote, is unfit for office

Raise money to help the electors pay any fines that may incur for voting against their party

Find a way of doing this in a united fashion, ideally within the framework of a nonprofit organization

It’s a long shot, but not an impossibility, and every action we take moves us closer.

Ok Folks, listen up. The electoral college doesn’t vote officially until December 19th. It is extremely rare and almost unheard of for them to vote against the majority of their district BUT IT CAN HAPPEN. The Electoral College was made for exactly this purpose!  Remember, prior to December 19th, we have:

We will have to be unyielding. We will have to write, call, and march on every swing state that can have their electoral vote differently. We have to make our voices heard. Hillary WON the popular vote which means more of America wants her to be President than Trump. There is precedence for this to happen. There is cause. There is hope. With no state law against Pennsylvania voting against their popular vote, that’s 20 to go to Hillary. If Florida or any three other states swing, SHE WINS.

If we get them to vote different, we don’t have to worry about Trump or Pence because Hillary will have won. Until she hands over the nomination, she is still saying she is waiting for the official electoral votes to be made.

Find out the swing vote state’s Electoral College Representatives and phone, mail, email, share, and march on their offices. We have just over a month to get this together. If the Electoral College decides to change their votes for Hillary on December 19th, we will have Hillary as our President. The reason why so many people aren’t talking about this is because it’s very rare for the Electoral College to vote differently than the districts. Some states even have laws preventing that, such as Ohio and North Carolina. But, Pennsylvania does NOT have that law. Florida is tricky, but it can be done. NH is also another one that can swing it as well. If we get just a few of them to switch, we will have won.

The electoral college does not vote until December 19th. We have 40 days.

What does this mean?

Right now, the presidential election results are only a PROJECTION of the election outcome. They are PRELIMINARY RESULTS. A candidate still needs to earn 270 electoral votes to win. Hillary Clinton won the popular vote, which means that more than 50% of the voters wanted her for president. The electoral college shouldn’t guarantee an override of the public’s opinion– and it doesn’t have to.

There are 21 states that do NOT restrict which candidate the electors vote for. Out of these 21, Hillary lost the following:

As you can see, these states are worth 166 electoral votes. As it currently stands, Hillary Clinton is projected to receive 232 votes. Trump is projected to win 306. This means that 37 votes need to be taken away from Trump to bring him down to 269. Hillary Clinton needs 38 votes ADDED to win 270. These electoral voters can also abstain, which means that they can refuse to vote for either candidate. If 37 of the voters within these states abstain then no candidate will have reached the required 270. In this case, the vote would be taken to the House.

Trump won Pennsylvania, a state that typically votes blue, by less than 100,000 votes. While it is highly unlikely to get all 20 electoral voters to cross party lines and vote democrat, it also isn’t impossible to convince a few of them to be “faithless electors.” We only need to convince 38 out of the 166. That is 23%. There are SIXTEEN states we need to focus our attention on.

A move like this would be unprecedented. However, as we all saw on November 8th, odds don’t guarantee reality. Trump had a less than 20% winning, yet given the circumstances, enough people came together and made it happen. We can make this happen. 

Ask yourself this: What do we have left to lose? We can stay complacent and accept that this country will be run by a racist, sexist, islamophobic, homophobic, ablest bigot, or we can at least try. 

How?

SPREAD THE WORD. Trend #NotMyPresident to let people know that we do not accept being led by a man who does not care about our wellbeing. Email your professors, email the dean of your colleges. The last thing a university wants is negative press. Millenials can take a stand, but that doesn’t mean we have to be the only ones. Church-led events helped bring a lot of disillusioned voters to the polls. Spread the word in any way possible, whether it be on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, or even in person. Stage a peaceful protest. Hand out flyers. Let the people around you know that you don’t accept this man as your leader when he won’t even accept you as a citizen with your designated rights.

These 166 people need to face the consequences of electing this man. 

Do this for the people who couldn’t vote. Do this for the people who live in the very real fear of being deported. Do this for the people who will have to face the rise in hate crimes. Do this for the people who have a very real possibility of losing their rights. Do this for the people who will no longer afford necessities.

!!ELECTION DAY REMINDERS!!

Election day is TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 8th

You can check your polling place AND time HERE.

I would HIGHLY recommend bringing two forms of ID [a gov. i.e. your license or photo ID AND your voter ID] with you to poll. Some states have voter ID laws, and in other states you need your ID if it’s your first time voting  at that particular location.

Avoid any trouble, don’t wear any pins, tshirts, etc. for a particular candidates. Some areas consider it passive electioneering.

You CAN NOT vote via text, online, etc. Anyone advertising otherwise is lying.

The only person to ask you for your ID should be the individual working the polls sitting at a table inside the building in question. If anyone else asks you for your ID or gives you a hard time, they have no authority to do so and should be avoided.

You CAN NOT take a photo of your ballot/voting machine/etc. Take a cute photo with your “I Voted” sticker after and call it a day.

Most importantly, stay safe, be smart and VOTE VOTE VOTE
