The fact that for years our (my) favorite headcanon has been that Jaskier isn't human, since he barely aged in 20 years following Geralt, basically because the showrunners didn't notice this until the fans did, and for the rest of the seasons they gave the character a horrible haircut to age Joey, and now they finally have him talking and confirming that he is a mere human and that he will die at some point.

And they still complement it with a direct shot of Geralt, even though he must also be well aware that his best friend and closest confidant is a mere human who will leave him one day.

I'm not okay.

#sobbing #but also there are still plenty of headcanons where Jaskier himself doesn’t even know he’s not completely human #so technically just because he said that he won’t be here forever doesn’t make it true #but yeah no I get really sad when I’m reminded that he is canonically human #I just need the fics and headcanons to cope

I'm rewatching season 4 of The Witcher, and my expectations for the next season are a subplot where Radovid traps the entire Hansa, and Jaskier, in a very emotional scene, tells him that he agrees to stay with him at the court of Redania, that he will write him love songs and proclaim how incredible a king he is, as long as he lets his friends go. And in the background, Geralt and the others are yelling at him not to do it.
