So nice to meet you all,

My name is Li. I'm a junior at the University of Houston and I am currently pursuing my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography and Digital Media.

I recently was given the amazing opportunity to do a ten-week summer internship in Tokyo, Japan, where I would get to work under professional photographers and gallery owners and learn everything I can about the art world in East Asia. I'd also get to count this amazing experience as a sort of independent study and be able to get class credit for it.

Here's where I need help.

While I did receive a scholarship, it unfortunately only covers about half of the program tuition, with the rest I have to come up with myself.

I'm a broke college student without a job and I have less than 3 months to cough this up.

The funds I'm asking for would be used to pay for the remaining program tuition, as well as cover a round-trip flight.

I'd appreciate the help, I want to work as a photojournalist after I graduate and this would give me some great experience.

Hi so uh.

Not so good update.

I got scammed.

Two days ago I tried to sell my Wii U console on eBay for some extra cash. I was approached by a buyer to buy the console for about 1,300 USD (which yes I should have realized was a scam with how high the price was)

They seemed legitimate and shortly after they confirmed payment with eBay, I started getting emails from eBay saying that I needed to pay to upgrade my account in order to get the money that was paid.

I went along with it at first as the mail address seemed correct but after being asked for more money and confronting the buyer over messages, who immediately stonewalled me and threatened to call the police for harassment, I realized it was a scam.

In short I lost about 1,650 bucks to this scam.

I need that money in order to A. Pay for a self funded study abroad trip to Seoul to help get credits so I’ll graduate on time.

And B. Pay for the medical expenses of my cat, whose a registered support animal who helps me with my severe C-PTSD and also has diabetes.

I’m extremely embarrassed that I even fell for this but I need help as I doubt my bank will refund me.

Any bit helps, whether it’s just one dollar or just spreading the link
