Prompt 1 - Myth - Downed Dragon

I am still alive and I brought you all a gift because it took me so long to post. (That definitely didn’t take long)

So this sound trends on tiktok and I immediately thought of those two. My brain just couldn’t bare the thought that they might never be drawn/edited like that...

but then I realized, I can draw...I HAVE THE POWER!

So I took it in my own hands.

Have fun with this, It might take a while until I am back...tho I do try to be more active. But for now, enjoy the love (and a bit of angst/past trauma.)

Pretty obvious what I was trying to do, right?

It's kind of the fact that Barbara will always have this trauma, this pain that he caused. Even tho she can infact learn to love him again, there will always be this ever so small fear of getting hurt like he did before. She forgave him but she dosen't fully trusts him, at least not yet.

Also Walter reaches after her in his troll form but slowly stops in his human form. He let's her go, he let's the past go, his old self. He realizes that trying to appear more like human self is not the way and that she will only let him in if he is himself. If he is what he was forced and lived to become. A Changeling, tho not a Monster anymore.

I did try to include my headcanon Design for post-Eternal night. Obviously Barb is a little over the top (it's more a outfit for dates) and a new coat for Walter. I would say this takes place like 3-6 weeks after they defeated Morgana, so Walter dosen't really tried to ✨️express✨️ himself fully with his clothing...and i wanted to draw him in his old Design but also in MY and little new style so yeah. NO human clothes for my man. He has no shame, walking around half naked.🤭

Also small headcanon, Barbara likes him better with longer hair and his new style (mixing human/troll together). It makes him look and ferl like a new person and makes it easier for her bc she can see his true self, wich is a bit of both his forms. It's a reminder that not everything he said was a lie.

Do you all know this "She fell first, he fell harder"? Well I firmly believe it's them. Although Walter probably fell first AND harder.

Strickler and Jim headcanon?

Again. *Might've* gone overboard...like a little. This one actually took me a hot minute because I couldn't really find that many that I had but hey that's when you take the time to ✨figure it out✨ ;}>

They’re sassy at the dinner table. Like, impossibly so. They’ll trade jabs and good-natured quips, have petty fights about whatever, even THE WEATHER isn’t off the table if they’re that desperate for something to keep the surrealness of them eating as a family far out of their minds. Barb gets so sick of it sometimes she calls for who can stay quiet the longest just so she can enjoy her damn dinner in peace for once.

They’ll have mini-cooking contests for any given meal they have with Barbara as the judge, they’ll each make their own part of the meal and not reveal which part they did and constantly question Barbara about what she likes most about the meal and they both obsess of her facial expression when she takes any one bite off the plate while Barb is sitting there, resting-b-face and all, just wanting to eat HER DAMN FOOD. At the end, she always says they were perfect together and she could never rate them separate while they both cross their arms like preschoolers and ask in unison “But, hypothetically speaking, which *would* be your favorite?” “My glass of water.” “You served yourself that.” “Or so I did. Welp, I’m going to watch TV, I’m stuffed.”

After the Eternal Night is freshly over, and Strickler returns with Barbara to her home, she concedes to him staying the day because well, sun + changeling troll that is now just troll = easy sweep into the urn jar. So while he’s staying for the day and Barbara is called in for another shift, he has the house to himself and goes up the stairs to find Jim’s bedroom door slightly open and he peers inside to see it in a bit of disarray from Jim’s previous attempt to get off the amulet going badly. It’s mostly picked up but it’s still in need of some tidying. So, Strickler, after some mulling over, goes into the room and carefully starts cleaning things up, dusting, etc. for Barbara but also…mostly, for Jim. He knows what it’s like to need to start a new life from one day to the next. And for the following weeks, when it pains Barbara to go into the room, he takes it upon himself to keep it neat, keeping the hope at the back of his mind that Jim will return soon and it’s best to keep his room ready for him.

Jim was having a really hard time adjusting to a proper troll diet but actually got an unprompted message from Strickler with rocks/minerals that would be good to help him get the hang of eating rocks and ease him into it properly, and, later on, in an awkward phone call Barbara had passed to Strickler, Jim thanked him and Strickler sorta admitted that he had a sensitive stomach too and that he’d actually been experimenting recipes that could combine both human and troll tastes. Jim sorta kinda assumed it was mostly for himself that Strickler was experimenting but actually, Strickler was really surprised with how much he kept going failure after failure just to give Jim something he could eat with Barbara that wouldn’t feel awkward.

Y’know that sweater Strickler wore to Greenland in the movie-that-might-exist??? Well, if it did happen, Strickler was totally just trying to give Jim something to poke fun at. Something to bring back old times of them quipping at each other, especially with how stressed Jim was at the time. He was severely disappointed when Jim limited himself to just one slightly-snide comment about it. It made him realize just how much he wanted to protect Jim from more of all of this that had already changed him so much.

He ALWAYS texts Jim his mother’s schedule for the day/week and if it changes so he can find the best time to call her for the day. He gives his own suggestions for good times after she’s finished eating but before she goes to sleep (most of the time he tells Jim to call when it’s Barbara’s turn to care for the children/feed them/change diapers, and he takes the responsibility for her while they chat).

One day, while they’re texting to strategize when is the best time to call her, Jim refers to Barbara as just “Mom”. Not “my mom” and Strickler spends a ‘morning jog’/morning flight overthinking the whole interaction so much he forgets to bring Barb a flower, she wonders why and says she misses it but it’s okay, there’ll be plenty of other days for more flowers, and that’s when Jim calls and she automatically puts it on speaker and Jim automatically says “Hey, guys!” instead of “Hey, Mom” and Strickler realizes he has a son now. He has a lover. He has a family.

Another day, after a friendly spar, (it can either be pre-wizards/rott or just whenever), Jim and Strickler are both exhausted with just a narrow tie being called instead of a victory for either of them. In the exhaustion and half-loopiness of the moment, Strickler actually says how proud he is of Jim's improvement not only in fighting with Daylight and making the amulet his own but being adaptable and quick-thinking, and analyzing weaknesses to exploit and turning the battle in his favor, and "Yeah, well, I have you and Nomura to thank for that last stuff," he chuckled, "even if your 'training' was borderline 'almost kill--'" And that's when Strickler, unconsciously, bumped his forehead into Jim's with a hand at the back of his black hair. "Oh..." Jim just kinda goes still until Strickler blinks, realizes what he did, and clears his throat, absentmindedly ruffling Jim's hair before the conversation gets pretty awkward. "Well. We should uh- We should find Mom, she'll get worried." "Right- Of course, that's best avoided." "...Um....Thanks though, that wasn't...super weird....it was chill, I wouldn't like, tell you not to do that again." "....I'll em...I'll keep it in mind."

Stricklake headcanon?

Oof. Okie- I *may* have gone overboard... Still, have some headcanons I got for ya! Because I have no self-control! And yes, there is a lot of them.

He speaks in innuendos almost exclusively, but she will just be blunt with it ‘cause who got time for that.

He follows her. Just. He follows her. (🎵walk him like a dog, sis, walk him like a dog🎵) Okay, but actually he follows her (especially after the Eternal Night when he’s stuck in his troll form) because his arms are much longer than a human’s so it’s a bit uncomfortable to hold hands while walking beside each other because either she needs to stretch her hand down or he has to sort of angle his shoulder up, so, to compensate he always walks just behind her so that his hand is easy to keep in hers. Hence: he just follows her. (yes, he had the choice to lead, no, he did not take it.)

After they get comfortable with each other again, Barbara MUST boop him on the nose when he yawns and does the *biiiiiigggg streeeeetch* but, when he always complains with a little grumble, she’ll kiss his cheek as compensation. (and a bonus little scritch on the base of his horns if he’s especially grumpy)

Speaking of which, he PURRS. A lot. At first it sounds super scrungly and rough because he never did it very often, but Barbara makes it her personal mission to coax the purrs out of him and turn them smoother by constantly making him do it. (She succeeds, obviously ;} and when Jim and Strickler are having a petty little argument for funsies she’ll butt in ‘all serious’ and give him the stink eye and flex her fingers ready to make him purr in front of Jim and he’ll automatically, but grumpily, shut up and let Jim win)

He blushes LIKE CRAZY at like the smallest look from her ‘cause oh my God how could he not??? She’s wonderful, and stunning, and bewitching, and oh man he’s hers and she’s his, and could he be more fortunate to have her and— Meanwhile Barb will NOT blush at much, EXCEPT, of course, when he gives the worst dad joke in the world or some stupid, down-bad line like a nervous dork and THEN she’ll blush like a tomato.

As much as I love the hc that Strickler snores loud…my mom is the one that snores really loud……………………………………….so, BARB is the loud snorer and when she’s asleep she’s ASLEEP AND UNLESS THERE’S AN EMERGENCY SHE’S NOT WAKING UP. You could poke her, prod her, move her around, she WILL NOT wake up and WILL continue snoring like she’s gotta scare off the morning birds from the tree by the window. Strickler is the lightest sleeper the world has ever seen, Barb could be shifting around and his eyes will bolt open and he’ll just lay there. But, when he is exhausted and starts dozing off on the couch he’ll already be asleep but when Barb asks if he wants them to go to bed he’ll wake up all offended like a true dad and say “I wasn’t asleep, but if you’d like.” “You were snoring.” “That is……my usual breathing at night.” “Uh-huh. Sure.” “It is-!”

(He always falls asleep easier when they cuddle, but for a while he didn’t completely understand he could just *ask* her to cuddle and she probably would, he didn’t want to bother her so he always waited for her to initiate it. Until one day he gets the nerve to ask her to cuddle and she’s like “Hon, you just had to get closer to me and I would’ve cuddled whenever you want.” “It was that simple???” “Yes, we’re MARRIED.” “Oh. Fair point.”)

He gets restless really easy (especially after the Eternal Night when sometimes he wakes up earlier than she does and he’ll be swamped by thoughts of his plummeting self-worth to actually be sleeping beside her after everything he’s done to them) so he’ll go for ‘morning jogs’/morning flights in the forest nearby and return to make Barbara breakfast. It makes him feel a bit better and he always comes back with a different flower every time to give to her, but when Barb catches on to the main reason why he does this, she starts trying to cheer him up more when he comes back. One morning she asks why he picked the flower he did and one thing leads to another and now he’ll always bring back a flower and explain to her the history of the flower and its meaning and all the dorky stuff he loves to talk about and she’ll listen while eating her breakfast.

His eyes dilate insanely wide whenever he even thinks of her and everyone has dubbed it the “Lover Look for Lake” so they (mostly Toby) can say “Ohoho, the triple L combo! You’re a loser for her, Strickler, take that L so you can kiss that L.” He NEVER lives it down.

Sometimes, on really cloudy, late nights, when Barb is working at the hospital and finally gets out, exhausted and fatigued, a little someone will pop by with dilated red eyes and a flap of leathery wings. After a LONG TIME of mini-flights, she finally trusts him enough to close her eyes and let him carry her home after her long shifts so she can soak up the lightness of the night sky while she can hear a purr in his chest as she rests against it.

LOCAL AVOCADO GETS BULLIED BY HIS SIBLINGS AND ADOPTED SONS FOR HIS OBVIOUS LOVE FOR THE LOVE OF HIS LIFE!

PONYO AU COME HERE MY BABIES

*ahEM* So. What occurred is—as you can maybe see—i was studying Studio Ghibli’s art style to draw lil baby adorable kiddos and may or may not have gotten carried away a bit.

I can explain.

I just love baby Walt and wanted to draw him more and then i was watching Ponyo and Ponyo has red/orange hair like Barbara’s and then one thing led to another and yeah it’s a whole au thing now.

Basically, Ponyo = Baby Barb, Sosuke = Weeny Walt, Fujimoto (Ponyo’s dad) = grown up Jim, Granmamare (Ponyo’s mom) = grown up Claire

Ponyo’s story (i’m gonna refer to as Barb in min) goes pretty much the same as in the movie: she’s a curious lil magical fish who wanders away from her overprotective father one day, excited to catch a glimpse at the infamous humans her father has warned her so much about on their motor boats, unfortunately she gets stuck in a tiny jar and gets swept up onto shore, being found and rescued by…a green human?

Baby Walt is a small youngling, abandoned when he was so small he had barely opened his eyes, or so his father, Vendel, tells the story. Without a proper mother and just a tiny whelp, Trollmarket’s leader (with his badly hidden soft heart) can’t help but end up adopting the small whelp. So baby Walt (as he is nicknamed because Waltolomew was FAR too long, Vendel.) is raised alongside his two much older big brothers, Blinky and Aaarrrgghh who watch over him when Vendel’s busy.

They take him on short, highly-supervised outings around Trollmarket and the beach shore during the night; the one rule? No head-butting anyone’s gronk-nuks. Okay, but also NO GOING IN THE SUN.

Vendel is incredibly acute about the rule and it was a long time of whinnying and complaining and pushing and puppy-dog eyes until he FINALLY let Walt go outside to the beach shore with Blinky and Aaarrrgghh. But Walt always knew his dad was so strict about the rule because if he ever touched the sun he’d burn himself and turn to stone.

Right?

One night, Walt is feeling a little down and Aaarrrgghh suggests bringing a teeny bucket to collect seashells in, except they get kinda get caught up in all the serious work and sunrise comes before they know it. The sun is peeking out past the horizon when Walt gets distracted by a strange glittering in the shallow water. Aaarrrgghh is busy convincing Blinky to let them bring all the shells for Vendel so Walt goes after the shiny item himself. He pads over and finds a jar…with a goldfish inside?

Trying to pull the little fishy out of the jar as gently as he can, he tugs and bites at the glass with his short tusks, before feeling a strange stinging across his body and giving a big shiver—

“HEY! KIDDO GET OUT OF THE WATER!” someone shouts from above and his head whirls around to see a human waving his arms at him and heading down the rocks to get to him.

“Blinky!” he yelps, frozen on the spot, but the troll hushes him with a finger and after an anxious beat of his heart he sees them scramble to run away from the human as it reaches the bank and goes after him. “BLINKY?!” Walt cries out, tears coming to his eyes but he’s quickly scooped up into the arms of the chubby human.

“Be careful, kid, the tides comin’ up, let’s get you out of here.”

“But my papa-” he croaks.

“We’ll find him, don’t worry little dude.”

The rest of the story unfolds similarly to the movie, except Walt is nonverbal for a long part of the time Barb is a fish in the bowl of water. Later though, Barb licks a wound from Walt’s human skin and becomes a human girl (mostly), the two wander around getting into small hijinks at the senior center and around town while being (horribly) babysat by Toby and Wine Aunt Nomura, all the while Barb and Walt get closer and fall in love ❤️

But then Baby Barb is snatched away by Jim and Weeny Walt is left trying to find his big brothers and get back to Trollmarket but keeps questioning if they’ll take him back now.

Soon enough Baby Barb girlbosses her way out of Jim’s hold and makes it back to her green friend, in the process LITERALLY BRINGING THE MOON CLOSER TO THE EARTH AND RAISING THE TIDE UP MOUNTAINS. But it’s all chill, they figure it out in the end lol

As if this post isn’t long enough: some hcs!!!

Barb thinks all humans turn green at night and is very Confused™️ when Toby and Nomura Don’t???

She also thinks all human children are as quiet as Weeny Walt and when they get stuck in school she is very shocked when kids start talking to Weeny Walt like nothing

Walt is VERY attached to Aaarrrgghh and very obvious about it, his favorite brother fr while his relationship w Blinky is more of a play fight of who can be the smartest little buttsnack to each other and impress papa

If it’s kinda confusing: basically changelings in this au change between troll and human when sunlight hits them or darkness/shadow does and since baby Walt didn’t go out in the sun he didn’t know (Vendel knew but was convinced it wouldn’t matter if his little baby knew either way)

Walt wears a moss gauntlet-type thing around his forearm as a sign that he was adopted and spoken for by someone other than his mother

Barb is kinda scared of the dark so Walt shows her cool stuff like fireflies and Walt is scared of the water (because rocks SINK) and Barb shows him cool stuff like big fish and swimming

Barb is the ONLY person Walt talks to during a majority of their time with Nomura and Toby, he is very nonverbal and Barb is VERY verbal so she has enough words to speak for them both

She drags him everywhere and he just lets it happen because of course he does
