annoying when shows set in the medieval period have the women with thier hair just long and unstyled and out . girl go put on your wimple girl 🤦♀️
like there are so many fun medieval hair and headgear options, it's so boring just seeing loose beachy waves meant to appeal to 21st century beauty standards

Last night I dreamed there was a huge fandom on tumblr around a children's animated series called "The Wall." The series was based on a Bertholt Brecht play where characters in an imaginary country spend their days building a massive, pointless wall in the middle of nowhere. It was brutal, unsafe, labor for little pay. Workers either lived in makeshift housing nearby, or slept on the wall itself.
Most of the play was the characters talking to each other about their reasons for working on the wall. Only one of them was poor and desperate enough to do it for the money, most of them were there for ideological, philosophical or personal reasons. The wall alternately became a metaphor for capitalism, patriotism, religion, personal trauma, etc, depending on who was talking.
It was adapted into an animated series that replaced all the characters with modern-day kids who were forced to work on the wall by a mysterious, supernatural force. The plot was more episodic, i.e., stories where the kids had to deal with roadblocks to construction, or a monster that was picking off builders, etc.
The cartoon wasn't especially violent, but it was shockingly intense and even cruel in its depiction of how much physical and psychological torture the kids building the wall were going through, and how sad and troubled their backstories were.
The fandom was intensely divided between people who were like "Aaaaaah, I just want these poor kids to get a break!! To be able to rest and relax and be happy!!" and ones who were like "I want them to keep working on this awful wall forever."

Please Help My Uncle and his Family Exit Gaza
Hello, everybody. My father started this campaign for my uncle Basem and his family who are stuck in Gaza during this war. This is my uncle and I at the Gaza Port back in December 2021 when I got to visit.
This is my uncle now.
My uncle and his family are stuck in Gaza and don’t have any other options to leave at the moment except to pay the fee to Egypt. They are alone in Gaza as my dad’s other siblings and my grandmother are not there. My cousin Abood (shown below on the very right) is also recovering from two surguries he had during the war after his appendix burst,
and my cousin Farah is struggling to fight an infection. They are also having much difficulty finding food for the 6 of them and are living out of a tent now that the north (where they're from) isn't permissible to go back too. If you could give anything it would help, as paying the fee for them to exit through Egypt is our only option at the moment. We appreciate everybody's efforts.
Thank you,
Rania.

Hey, everybody. I wanted to say thank you to everyone who donated. It means the world to us. My uncle, his wife, and 4 of his kids are still in Gaza, and still alive thank God. We’re still $26,949 from their goal amount in order for them to be able to evacuate. They are still struggling to find food as they have been in the same situation for months now. They’re really starting to lose hope. If you could help boost this fundraiser again, my family would be very greatful. Thank you again to those who have donated ♥️♥️♥️

My name is Abdulhaq. I am 36 years old, a wife, and a new mother to a three-month-old baby boy named Said who is battling with type 2 diabetes. He came into this world under unimaginable circumstances born in the midst of war, in an environment no human should ever have to endure. With great sorrow, I was forced to leave the hospital just hours after his birth, returning to the tent that has become our only shelter since our home was demolished by Israel bulldozers. The place that once held our memories and life is now nothing but a heap of debris. But my ordeal began long before I met him. The war started it, and every day since has been a battle for survival.
All too often, I am unable to give Said what he needs insulin, milk, diapers, and even basic medicines and vitamins. It pains me to my core to know that he will never receive the loving care that every child deserves. I am reaching out to you in desperation, asking for your help. Please, forward the link to our family’s fundraising appeal to anyone who might be able to support us. This is not something I ever wanted to do, but the extreme circumstances we are facing have left me no choice. I feel utterly helpless and full of despair, once we had everything, and now we are homeless, living in a tent next to a dilapidated public toilet. This area is full of decomposing sewage, filth, and waste. This is where we sleep, in unbearable heat, surrounded by insects, scorpions, and the constant threat of bombs, missiles, disease, and hunger. My parents are also suffering. My father, who lost his home and place of work, has suffered a stroke, and my mother, who has chronic illnesses, is in desperate need of medical attention. But it doesn’t end there. The war forced us to evacuate our home, leaving behind everything we knew and loved.
Now, we are stranded in this wretched place, far from the life we once had. This isn’t just a tragic story it’s a nightmare from which we cannot wake. I beg you, please help us in any way you can. There is a chance to evacuate Gaza to Egypt come through for us so that we can find a safer place.

💌 A message from Mira & Nadia
Hello every one 👋
I'm Mira on the right and I'm 7 years old, On the left is my sister Nadia, who is 6 years old...
And we want to tell you something about us.
We want to tell you the story of our childhood that we did not live 🥹
In the beginning, we lived happily with our mother, father, and the rest of the family, We are happy in our studies and our lives...
Then suddenly, without warning, we woke up one day to the sounds of missiles, bombing, and destruction, where the school we love was no longer there. Nor the games we love...
As we lost our beloved grandfather in the war and a number of our friends and family members, their souls departed from earth to heaven 😭
Our mother is in her fifth month of pregnancy and is very tired, and we fear any new shock or fatigue for her 😟
There is only fear, terror and hunger that dominate our lives 😥🥹
We live a difficult life now 💔
We do not understand what is happening around us.
where are we going?
The sounds of planes in the sky terrify us, and we do not see anything else in the sky except them 😢😥
So We ask you to help us by donating, sharing, or reblogging to save our lives and our future with our beautiful family. Please 🙏🚨
