I'm not fond of intro post, but here we go!

Hello everyone! I'm tay! I've been observing the hypno community since before 2020 and particpating in a small way since later 2023.

This is a sideblog where I'm mostly going to talk about my personal experiances related to the topic. So far I'm mostly a 'tist, and very occasionally a subject.

This is a nonsexual blog, though I won't call it SFW bc I'm not sure I want to share all of this in a workplace setting either way! That is to say, I'm fine with kink blogs reblogging my post, I can't stop that, but any attempts to interact with me in a sexual manner perosnally will result in a swift block.

I will try my best to tag extensively, especially flashing images and spirals as I reblog or share them, but I tend to... not remember to do that. But once I get into the swing of things, I'll edit this post to explain my tagging system.

Hello, friend. Lets play.

I hope you're well. I never really ask, do I? If you're feeling good? I tend to assume you must be- you're getting hypnotized, after all, and that comes with a sort of sense of... peace... enjoyment- wouldn't you say? Maybe its dampened by your active attempts to resist, but the feelings break through. So, are you feeling good?

Well, lets go down the list. I know it feels good to put the woes of the day away, to sit down and enjoy this thing so personal and so devoid of expectation. It feels good to have access to a sort of community, a personalized entertainment. So, presumably opening tumblr feels good. It feels good to have a specific objective, too. Good to not only have a task, but to know exactly how you're supposed to handle it, and to know exactly that it was made for you to handle. So, opening this ask feels good. It feels good to put all your focus into one thing. To let someone hold your attention entirely because their ways, their words are so fascinating. So reading a message from me feels good. It feels good to realize the tension has fallen off you. It feels good to find out that without your permission, you've been forced to relax. So being hypnotized feels good.

So you must feel good right now.

Its the only natural state to be. And each sentence, and each word in it, is working to making that good feeling grow. Not because you're letting it, no, because you don't have a choice. You're reading, you're giving your attention away, and it feels good. You're feeling good. And that feeling has a momentum to it. Every breath adds to it, every action completed grows it. Every moment you realize you've lost a bit more control, because every inch you loose is replaced with that pleasant fuzz you know so well. You don't choose to feel good, because you are.

And already, you can start forming a response, because typing that response feels good too. It feels good to say how good it feels, to read, to follow, to give up control. It feels good not even to second guess what you type, to simply let the words spill into the text box. It feels good to respond openly, freely, without a second thought. It feels good to play the game. And you so love feeling good, don't you?

And yet I can't help but think you love playing more than you love winning. I'm having fun too- analyzing the patterns in your response. It took you a while to respond to the message, but it looks like when you did, you typed out the response quite quickly. And it isnt quite in charecter to use so much punctuation here, is it? You usually do that when I break past a few layers of your defense and you don't quite know what to say. And it feels good to know that, doesn't it? Thats the conceit of all of this, isn't it? You're having fun, not because you're perfectly successful at every turn, but because its satisfying knowing you're garnering such attention. That you're being analyzed, studied, and catered to. It feels good to realize that your responses make up this sort of pet project. And it feels good to be swept up in that momentum- to keep pushing back if wins you more attention, even if internally you're letting yourself slip more and more. Because both parts are so enjoyable, aren't they? It feels good to fall, even if its fun to pretend you haven't.

I was talking to someone today and it dawned on me the untapped potential of hypnosis yoga.

that’s right. Hypnosis yoga. Not only is there already a venn diagram overlap with general spiritual and mental wellbeing. But it can also work into hypnosis inductions very well. Eg. Taking deep breaths, moving into different body positions (maybe being *controlled* by the yoga instructor, in a group all together, to move and stretch your body)

With a bit of imagination, it can be adapted to an interesting induction style!

Hopefully I’m not the only one to think this? There’s potential here!

Took a long time to learn out way out of this box because we were raised up in the wild west of the early internet/hypno-community where consent was not taught even a fraction of how it is these days (every time I think about what our first hypnotist Teishu did with us we get SO upset, man was a serial-abuser and we are always on the lookout to ensure he never comes back)

The thing that makes "safe and appropriate" so bad is that it basically tells the hypnotee that their safety is their own responsibility and works on the same logic as "no one can do anything in hypnosis that they didn't want to do"

The thing is? People can be coerced and tempted to stretch their limits and when someone is in a suggestible state they cannot be trusted to have unguided discretion on what is or isn't safe, especially when their perspective is in an altered state.

The correct way, from our experience, is to encourage subject agency not by saying "you can and will keep yourself safe" (itself a little better than the "safe and appropriate" language) but by informing them that no matter how far we go into scene, you'll remain aware enough to keep yourself safe.

Lotte's post is right when it says that a hypnotist should not treat agency and safety as gifts to be given. Subject agency is a hypnotee's responsibility and it's important to emphasize.

One of the things that we always brush into in our teaching is that we are HUGE advocates for "keep reality in the room" - people we trust, like and have played with in the past have criticized us, noting that our dissociative disorder skews our ability to be objective in this regard. So with the note that I do have a bias-- I want to reiterate.

Keep reality in the scene.

Trust on both sides of the watch relies on both people engaged in the play being able to safe word AT ANY TIME and that means that a hypnotee needs to specifically be told and taught to break scene and self-advocate at the first sign of discomfort. That alone causes some people to dry up because they want their brainwashing fantasies to be completely mindless... and I do think that CNC and edge play scenes can be aspired to but they should 1000% be after a rapport and routine has been built up enough that the hypnotee will know their limits and be able to break scene without thinking about it.

But like any conditioning that has to be trained. You can't just "safe and appropriate" your way into someone automatically breaking out of a deeply involved scene.

What one of our partners does with me is remind that I am a good girl when I take care of myself and that a good girl listens to their body when it tells them things, it informs their partner when their mind is wandering, it knows how to wake up when something distracts its attention and knows not to compromise its own safety by being altered in situations where full attention is required.

And that requires a level of training too. "You'll only go into trance when it is safe and appropriate" does not have the same guidance that "and if you're in a situation that requires your full attention, such as needing to drive or someone else outside of this scene needing your attention, you can just take a breath and draw yourself up, remembering to be alert and conscious before engaging in any tasks" like that's MINIMAL but it gives instructions that are not "don't do the thing"

Especially as hypnosis does not work with negative instructions.

"Don't think about a pink elephant" being the best example.

You need positive and directed instruction. You need to build a framework of self-advocacy and safety before you start taking that away and you need both sides of the watch to be on constant vigilance until that awareness is second nature.

We tend to be a little preachy with scene safety and as mentioned before-- not everyone shares our opinion-- but like-- at the very least, hypnotee agency is not something GIVEN, it's something trained and established <3

Mind control that doesn't go away. Sure, they're out of Whumper's hands, but for whatever reason, the control doesn't lessen entirely.

It's not noticeable at first, but something is undeniably happening.

Their face will go blank sometimes, and they'll snap to attention.

They only speak when spoken to, and even then, they're much too quiet.

Offhand comments are followed to the letter, they let themself be touched and handled and do whatever they're told, no complaints.

When (if) their team figures this out, it complicates things. They can't be as casual around them as they'd like to be, have to monitor everything they say to make sure they don't take advantage of Whumpee.

Carefully phrasing questions to make sure they aren't misunderstood as orders, always leaving comments open for questions or objections... the vulnerability of caring about someone who can't consent to... anything, right now. Even the seemingly normal things.

honestly when i just think about the actual feeling and experience of being hypnotized for me personally a lot of the time it's like obedience isn't even really a part of it as much as just like... it just feels like there's less reason not to do something. it's just easier to be like sure why not. and then doing like a basic simple task you were asked to do and then hearing "good" or "that's right" is like. it just feels really good. like unbelievably good. and like being repeatedly asked to do something and kind of gently coaxed into it. also feels good. sometimes that feels better than just doing something right away. and then when you're praised for it it's like. it's even better. because like it was kind of hard. or like. relatively hard. it took longer. it was more of a thing. and it's like you didn't just do the task you were asked to do but you also still listened even though you hesitated at first. and it's like. even if it doesn't happen right away it's still alright. but it also kind of makes everything seem like an inevitability. like it's all gonna happen one way or another, eventually. no matter how you react. and that's a little weird and creepy and controlling but it's also kind of nice.

Flowchart for Newbie Hypnosis

I've added a flowchart to the introduction page to cover a conversation that most people have when being hypnotized for the first time.

The general idea is that you loop through "No", then "Still No" and then go to "Try To Resist" for the final branch.

This goes into a larger section distinguishing how hypnotized people feel versus how hypnotized people act. I also added an Anthony Galie (RIP) video here as he does a great job of demonstrating this.

Always guiding.

Always watching.

Always awake.

But eventually even the lighthouse gets tired.

Not broken.

Not defeated.

Just tired.

Tired of being the person who notices everything.

Tired of being the person who carries the atmosphere of the room.

Tired of being the one who stays alert while everyone else relaxes.

And then something rare happens.

They find a voice that doesn't demand anything.

A presence that doesn't require performance.

A silence that makes sense.

And little by little,

the vigilance begins to loosen.

The muscles unclench.

The joy of hypnotizing

I do love brainwashing people :3 it truly makes me happy. Just something about a person being a state where they are truly at ease, no guard, no resistance, no nothing. They are just comfy and offer up complete vulnerability. They trust me and I trust them and all I want to do while they're like this is take care of them and have their little mind filled with little gifts I put in there so that they have that much more enjoyment with kink, life, and just day to day. Whenever I give a trigger to someone I love to describe it as a gift they can accept or not. Just I really do love my subs so much Two of my very close friends inspired me for some more hypnosis techniques. One of them is so simple yet I feel gets overlooked. Just completely personalized hypnosis to match exactly that person. That trance is made *just* for them, just for you. Tailored for your experiences to give you the best possible trance. I'm going to start a personal little journal with notes about this for all my people so I can start to do this My other friend, she does an amazing job with imagery, and not only that using the environment she describes to her advantage. I thought about my campaign and setting I've been writing, and I realized I can gain inspiration from there! Use the places I've made to help me hypnotize people. Just I love talking to people and seeing what they have done

big warning if you do get into hypnosis: develop the skills necessary to know your boundaries extremely well and firmly impose them and you need need need need need to be able to pull yourself up out of trance. there is no harm in hitting the block button if people try and harm you, even if it is smack dab in the middle of a session, but you do need to be able to know how to protect yourself

You can, if you want, talk to them later. Maybe they didn’t realize they were crossing a line. (Although it’s their responsibility to know). Maybe they got caught up in the moment (again NOT an excuse). Maybe they got trust can be rebuilt.

But your priority should ALWAYS be protecting yourself.

Visualization inductions take perhaps some of the most initial buy in of the styles I have at my disposal. Rather than leading you to a mental state with twisting words, or forcing one by first directing your physical state with breathing exercises and physical relaxation, this one requires an agreement. The agreement that when I say picture this place or thing in your mind, that you will, and that you will continue to as you read my words. That both makes my job easier and harder. In the end of it, hypnosis is majority buy-in, so getting that commitment from the jump is a strong reason to believe that further work will be justified. At the same time, it is my job to know what images will hold fast in your mind, and what will leave you confused or unimpressed. And yet, that is a burden I welcome.

So, picture with me, a room. Dimly lit, cozy, filled with whatever brick-a-brack you desire. The details aren't important to me- it is your room after all. All I care about is that you are there, and I am there, and it is comfortable enough for you to relax. That is all.

This room is yours to customize, yours to explore. Yours to decorate. I am but a guest. But I brought something with me. A projector. Something I can point at one of the blank walls to make the space feel changed, if just for a little bit.

So, imagine with me, I turn on my projector. It hums, subtlety, and suddenly, on the blank wall, a jungle appears. Reach out- you can actually move your arm if you'd like- and you probably won't feel anything. And yet the jungle on that wall looks as real as anything else in this room. That jungle that is now part of your room.

And like the rest, you can choose to explore it. Decide to move through the space, and suddenly, you're pushing through leaves- they rustle as you pass them by. There's a crunch as you step over twigs, and birdsong can be heard in the air. Its a forest.

And yet, when you turn back, its only your room.

And then, its only words on a screen.
