RenFaire characters are always so beautiful!

I've been going to renfaires for years, despite that, I've never had a consistent character to dress up as. And so, I have finally, after years of pondering and thinking of practicality.

I've finally found them, a traveling Siren inspired by the Bearded Vulture.

The reason I ended up desided on a vulture specific based design is becuase I want to be able to educate people on these amazing creatures.

I've always loved vultures, I grew up around turkey vultures, the black vulture, and other large vultures, and have always adored them.

Unfortunately most vultures species are either at risk of becoming endangered or are endangered.

Vultures are very key elements of many ecosystems as they are carrion feeders, and feed on carcasses.

Most vultures are considered protected species, but unfortunately many are still illegally hunted and poisoned by people who see them as pests.

Vultures are very intelligent and are very social often growing bonds with humans and other Vultures, they can even be trained.

So along with sharing the design and building process of the character, I will post vulture facts and resources to learn more about them.

Have you ever heard of the Ava's Demon webcomic?

I have, I personally don't enjoy reading comic or Manga style literature. ihave a very hard time following dialogue, as I'm very dyslexic and words are hard most of the time. I believe there's a novel version of Ava's Demon, but j have yet to find it.

Timeline of meeting

Pierce and Noi were on a crew before meeting Rhal and traveling with him

Leif was a back street surgeon in a small town before meeting Pierce and following him eventually meeting Noi, Asch, Rhys, and Rhal

Asch and Rhys have been friends since childhood

Rhal and Asch are still brothers, Pierce and Noi are also like brothers

Rhys, Leif, and Pierce met Ava and Lorelei shortly after meeting leif

Bish and Zex were found together and had been traveling for a few years prior to meeting the crew

Bish and Pierce are from the same island(not related to each other)

So yeah, thats a basic of who met who first and who introduced who.

Eventually as he got older he doveloped as both male and female but chose to transition to be more male presenting(Transmasc like meee) and he Gay IMO

Rhys is Pan and Demisexual and is also Non-binary(Like mee)

BBQ Pork ribs that are first slow cooked in the crock pot with the seasonings, then moved to the oven for an hour marinated in BBQ sauce. Cooked to perfection the meat falls off the bone and its full of flavor! My mother makes them the best paired with a side of steamed broccoli with 2 tables spoon butter per 2 cups broccoli and cheesy mashed potatoes as a starch.

MERFOLK

Mermaids -💚

A human bust and arms with the lower half of a fish, and small scales and fins along thier body's and hold the ability to breath on land to travel to new bodies of water. Said to save overbourd sailers from drowning. But due to head hunters they have become very elusive.

SIRENS

Drowners -💛

Much like mermaids but apear much more fish like and much more hostile in nature, believed to be descendants of mermaids that instead of fleeing to avoid head hunters adapted to deeper waters and began hunting humans as a food resourse, their songs leading sailers overbourd to drown, unable to breath above the waves they've doveloped large gills along their tales and an extra set of lungs to sing above the waves.

Thelxiopes -❤️

The result of a curse created the Thelxiope, a creature described as the bust of a human with the wings of a bird and talons sharp enough to rip through sails. Origanally born as the children of Sirens and humans and cursed to never return to the sea by the gods. Holding the sirens song, often captured and mutilated by head hunters and forced to guide them through the seas unable to sing or fly away.

MONSTER

Krakens -🖤

A monstrous beast respembling a squid, so large it can swallow entire crews. Primarily living deep under the oceans waves, but often traveling to the surface during large storms preying on lost sailers.

Serpentines -❤️

A Giant sea Serpent, swimming in deep waters only surfaceong at night to feed on unsuspecting ships, as well as hunting Merfolk and Sirens alike.
