This is war.
It’s official: I hate AI.
Hear me out—I know AI is a tool. In fact, at first, I was super excited about the concept, and someday I’d love to create my own Tony Stark-style AI, but… what the hell?
I already didn't care for it much because of the whole art issue. Personally, I don't think it ever had the capacity to create illustrations or write. And now it turns out there are tons of AI-generated fanfics; writing fanfic is something you do for fun, for the love of it, and because you adore a story—not to get popular.
But this shit has gotten personal.
I’ve been studying like crazy this year. I put my hobbies aside and delayed my writing projects to prepare for the university entrance exam.
And what happens now?
I got the required score.
But I didn't get into the program I wanted because the damn cutoff score went up. I spent so long studying for this, only to find out there are assholes using AI to cheat on the entrance exam to a ridiculous degree—to the point where you basically need a perfect score now.
It’s incredibly frustrating.
I worked so hard. I put projects that meant a lot to me on hold for this exam. I’m grateful to have people who support me and don't mind waiting another year for me to start university, but even so, now I have to get a job (which isn't really the problem).
The problem is that several of my fanfic projects will likely be delayed. I think I’ll still be able to release two of the four projects I had planned for this year—and I’m going to try—but because of this setback, I have to focus even more on my studies.
And I don't want to give this up.
Writing is therapeutic for me. I don't want to lose that.
So no, I don't think this counts as the "AO3 curse." This is a war against AI and against the damn government—in my country and everywhere else—that still refuses to regulate these things.
So, I came here to vent.
And I’m going to say it. If you use AI to create art, let me tell you: you have no respect for art.
And if you use it to cheat on a damn entrance exam, you have neither respect nor ethics—not for others, not for your chosen field, and not for yourself.
Goodbye.
