Meet Sara Colombo and Pepe!
Hello, everyone! It’s been a long time since the last time TraduPet was active. Between assignments, holidays, and some medical and hormonal issues with Brunita (she’s fine, just a bit moody as always lol), time flew pretty quick and didn’t have a chance to share more updates. So, here we are, catching up with everyone!
Today we’ll meet (’though many of you already do ;-) ) Sara Colombo! She’s a Freelance translator & interpreter of Italian (native), English, Spanish, and French currently located in London. She’s specialized in Fashion, Wellness & Beauty, Health, Marketing & Advertising, Sports & Fitness, and Transcreation.
Many of you have heard about her amazing work and dedication on promoting pet rescue awareness, so this is how Pepe (her furry baby)’s story begin. He’s a cute mixed breed (Pinscher & probably a Staffie) with so much love and energy to give.
So, what’s their story? In words of Sara:
I was raised with dogs and cats (about 6 GermanShepherds) and I have always been that type of kid that doesn’t like to playwith people but loves to stay with her dogs and family.
So when I moved in with my boyfriend I wantedto adopt one but he was quite reluctant in the beginning. It took me about 2years (ladies there is hope!) to convince him so in the end we agreed it wouldhave been a small or medium dog and possibly a stray one, or from a shelter.
Something fellow translators don’t know aboutme is that when I can I help out local kennels. And, trust me, it’s a veryselfish activity as they really lift me up and put everything under the rightperspective. So no loving eyes here, because I do that for myself too!
I was working with this association and we came across a post by a woman who had puppies to give away. We knew by rumours that that woman was not exactly keeping the puppies and dogs in the best condition possible and decided to call her and explore the situation.
Cut it short: I went back home with that little pea of mine I later called Pepe.
It took us 1 week to choose a name. I wanted to call him Son of the Powerful Devil because he was a hurricane.
He got into our lives as a hurricane! He was hyperactive and very smart. Like one of those kids who get easily bored by school not because they hate it, but because they are too smart to fit in.
He is very smart and I decided to challenge him a bit and train him to tricks. It worked! :) Unfortunately that didn't really calm him down at all….Damn mama.
Now Pepe is almost 6 and loves to interrupt my yoga sessions, eats salad, spends time on my side when I am working, he is in love with Regy, the neighbour’s Staffordshire, and he is clearly in charge of the whole family: no decision is made without previous consultation! ;)
Oh and he is also a tattoo, as all my pets have a special place on my skin and so far I got one for him and one for my cat who literally saved my life – but that’s another story!
Pepe is my angel, my son and my little secretary. I know he will have brothers and sisters in the future as I am already working out a way of creating a small pack to….Make my days pretty challenging…But I love dogs. All breeds.
Thank you so much for joining us, Sara!
