Okay, so I fell in love with Sam Wilson before I actually cared about the MCU as a whole. I had only seen two movies in theater before I finally decided to dive in around the time Captain Marvel and then Endgame came out in 2019, both of them without any of he universe context -- Black Panther (because how could I not, for the culture?!), and CA: TWS Which funnily enough was only because I was pretty into Chris Evans at the time (I have since grown out of that), and hadn't yet entered my obsessed with going to the movies era. I can't even tell you how I knew the movie was coming out, but I dragged my mom and sister with me.
That first scene with them running? IN LOVE. Genuinely heart eyed! I left the movies and went home to look for a bootleg video just to rewatch that scene, that's how serious that shit was. So when I finally rewatched TWS with the full context of the MCU, of course I loved him even more.
It's still one of my favorites because he had so many great moments!
