is it trans femboy girl or transfem boygirl?
im answering this but everyone who checks my blog please read the bio!!! i do not use this blog anymore. i will not be logging in much, so future asks will not be checked often as a warning!
it's transfem boygirl that i intended. but trans femboy girl is still accurate pft.. im transfem, im a boygirl, a femboy, a femgirl, a trans femboy, all combinations do accurately apply to my identity
the "transfeminist" discourse on this website is so like... white trans women need to be more aware of the fact that asians assigned male at birth are often perceived as more feminine than their white counterparts. if you're black, it's the opposite. they speak like everyone starts out the same, but that's just not true. you, as a white person, are far more free to explore femininity/masculinity than people of color are.
they also don't seem to understand the ways in which cis women of color are forced to interact with western ideas of gender. the darker your skin is, the more masculine you're often thought of being. i said this the other day, but not all cis women get to enjoy the cliche soft femininity filled with flowers and rainbows. darker-skinned women are not handed femininity on a silver platter. maybe take that into consideration the next time you try to pull some theory out of your ass
this. another reason why the TMA/TME binary doesn't work. cis black women are far more likely to be transvestigated, but I'm supposed to believe they're exempt from experiencing transmisogyny? no, that's fucking bullshit. everyone can be affected by transmisogyny, or transandrophobia, or just transphobia period. even perisex cis people.
this is something i see missed a lot in white transfeminist spaces and that i'm grateful for the chance to hear folks discuss. i think the tma/tme binary also fails to support our two-spirit and transgender native relatives whose genders and gender presentations are violently policed and managed by colonialist gender standards.
and it abandons ALL native people who experience this gender-coercive violence. a cisgender lakota man whose gender is wičháša is cisgender and yet also white colonial violence will be done against him on the basis of his gender expression. he will be policed on his hair and sacred braids, he experiences increased risk of violence and sexual assault, he lives with the effects of trauma and their relatives alcoholism and addiction and suicidality, and ultimately has a far higher likelihood to attempt suicide. or be murdered.
Indigenous people continue to honor the Mniconju actor and call for justice
this is not a hypothetical lakota man. justice for Cole Brings Plenty now, and remember that your campaign to guarantee freedom from medicalized coercive assignment of sex and gender needs to also defend the gender expression of native peoples.
the crisis of MMIW and MMIP directly reflects how limiting and violent white colonial expectations of gender and sex are for First Nations, pueblos originarios, indigenous, native, and American Indian people.
hey remember when people said we gotta keep talking about this and then two days passed and it just went quiet. anyways
I think I've spoken about the term "Salmacian" in the past and even recommended it and I think I need to revoke those statements.
(Screenshots taken from Salmacian.org)
So apparently Salmacian was originally coined to literally mean "transitioning to intersex" and the term itself is taken directly from the myth of Hermaphroditus, the origin of the slur for intersex people. And though efforts have apparently been made to distance itself from the original definition it still takes from the same source that birthed the slur that's used against us in the modern age.
Not to mention the fact that the Salmacian flag (at least the one used here) is incredibly similar to the intersex flag and clearly takes inspiration from it.
Also included on their site is this:
The only people who wouldn't be assigned afab/amab are intersex people but all intersex people are forcibly assigned a sex at birth. I don't fully know what they're trying to say here but this seems like a misuse of agab terminology or an intentional spreading of the myth that intersex people aren't assigned male/female at birth.
Like I get that there needs to be a label to fill the niche of "person who wants a body that doesn't fit the typical idea of male/female" or "person who wants a mixed genital set" or whatever but this is steeped in intersexism and directly takes from the intersex community. Specifically it takes directly from the origin of the slur that's used against us.
This is literally just one step removed from saying "I want to transition to be intersex"
Something not mentioned by this website is that Salmacis didn't just fall in love with Hermaphroditus and wish to be "one" with him but in the original myth she assaults Hermaphroditus after he rejects her and they are fused together against his will. Also in another/to my knowledge most renditions of the myth Hermaphroditus was born that way and it wasn't fusing with Salmacis that caused him to look like that.
Ironically, this is a very accurate allegory to the way perisex trans people treat intersex people. Trans people want to be intersex, we reject them, they fetishize us and claim we're being transphobic and then forcibly mush our communities together until our individual identity is erased.
You can't make this shit up
mogai PSA: transwoman and transman (as one word) are dog whistles
pt: transwoman and transman (as one word) are dog whistles
i have noticed a slightly concerning amount of people using the phrases transwoman and transman instead of trans woman or trans man and that's an issue. if you're reading this wondering what's the difference and how the difference in wording is a dog whistle then let me explain, while writing transwoman or transman as one word might just look like slightly different wording it's purpose is to imply that trans women aren't women they're "transwomen" or trans men aren't men they're "transmen". it's to imply that trans women and men aren't actually the same gender as their cis counterparts. while it is true that most people in the mogai community don't mean it like that when they use that wording it's still harmful because it let's that wording be seen as just something totally normal and not the dog whistle it is with the the implication it has and makes it easier to miss people using it as a dog whistle
people need to play around more with the fact cis / trans aren't the only options, AND the fact that cis / trans can be applied to anything the user deems fits. both can co exist.
someone can feel neither cis or trans works, there's labels like isogender that exist; iso man, iso woman, isofem etc. there's also options to simply not add a modifier in general. feel like a woman but cis, trans, and iso doesn't fit well? that's fine! you can exist as only a label with nothing more defining. it isn't cruel or evil of you.
feel agender? nonbinary? genderfluid? or a different label but feel it isn't cis or trans? doesn't have to be! just because a label differs from the random little term you were assigned with at birth, it doesn't mean you have to use the word trans, it's okay. you aren't hurting others. sometimes it just doesn't feel that way. you aren't betraying trans people but not preferring the term.
at the same time though, labels that differ from the random term you were assigned with at birth can feel cis. you can be cisneu, cisnull you can feel your nonbinary identity is cis or your bigender identity is cis. that's an option too.
and while people can have no modifiers, people can also be multiple! do you feel like your masculinity is cis but your enbyhood isn't? that's an option. or feel your femininity is trans but your boyhood isn't? that's an option! cistrans/tris is a helpful label for many.
people need to be allowed to feel like they have a choice. freedom to explore things, test out terms, try labels, etc. it can lead to someone finding themselves, finding something that makes them the most happy. it can also lead to nowhere, it can lead to them going "ya my original label was right". but what's important is they had the option to try something different if they wanted to.
exploring these things is why im so happy with myself currently, and why my headmates are happy with the labels it& uses
⚠️ Do not use they/them if talking about me to others in reblogs/comments. I have neopronouns in my pinned post ⚠️
hello perisex people of any kind, yes even trans perisex people, especially white ones. before you is an intersex asian politely explaining that "futa/futanari" is herm/hermaphrodite and is used as such. it is a slur towards asian intersex people. perisex people can not reclaim it. your job is to not demand that you should be allowed to call yourself a hermaphrodite or call others one, because it's intersexist and the intersex community is already silenced by everyone too much as is. thank you

it's almost pride month again. what a great reminder for Please Be Normal about these people:
- aromantic people who aren't asexual.
- asexual people who aren't aromantic.
- cishet aromantic and cishet asexual people.
- aromantic men in general.
- intersex people who are trans.
- intersex people who are are cis.
- intersex people who are cistrans/tris and those who are neither.
- intersex people who are cishet.
- intersex people in general.
- nonbinary people who don't personally identify as transfem or transmasc.
- nonbinary people who don't want to be androgynous.
- cis people who use neopronouns and/or xenogenders while still feeling cis fits just fine.
- people who feel gender dysphoria or misgendered when referred to by they/them, especially after telling you not to use they/them.
PART TWO.
⚠️ Do not use they/them if talking about me to others in reblogs/comments. I have neopronouns in my pinned post ⚠️
I like it when they mention neopronouns up-front so I know they're fucktards. The Caution Emoji is something, though.
you are a tar pit and very sad excuse of a person, goodbye ableist transphobe ❤️
Gotta be able to find the ↑Shift key to begin bothering me ~ Goodbye, trashcan <3
It's really funny to me that just about the only comeback this person has for anyone criticizing you is "Find the ↑Shift key before you try to backtalk me" or whatever. If you look on their blog (oh and just so everyone knows, they're VERY misandrist, exorsexist, and aphobic, just a warning), they say this several different times... Do they just?? Not have anything more creative to say?? Lmao
it's funny because i use a screen reader and often voice to talk due to being visually disabled many days. also deal with dyslexia and not having english as first language so wording will not always be amazing, nor always grammerly correct. so we can add another example of the nitpick of capital letters not being used as a micro example of ableism if we really want to. it's also funny that a capital letter defines a valid response to the person, if that's enough to get the person mad that really says a lot about the person. those who harass minorities will always be the sad one at the end of day. to wish this much hate and argument towards people existing is an exhausting sad life
You know what? Forget the discourse. This is no longer my hill to die on.
You wanna ship canonically aspec characters because “aro/ace people can still date/have sex”? Okay, then. LET’S DO IT. I wanna see an aromantic character with an alloromantic love interest. I wanna see that confession of undying love and the moment when the aro character says they will never feel the same way—not romantically.
I wanna see the asexual character with their allosexual partner. I wanna see that moment when the ace characters tries sex with their partner for the first time because they want to make them happy only to realize that they are 100% sex repulsed.
I wanna see the two demiromantics who don’t even know if what they feel is romantic attraction, but they adore each other and just want to make healthy snacks together and destroy each other at Mario Kart.
I wanna see the two aces who love sensual affection and are figuring out what they define as sexual or not.
I wanna see the romance + sex neutral aroace who happily and consensually does whatever makes their partner happy…but their partner still struggles with feeling undesired.
Oh, babe. You thought shipping an aspec character would be just like shipping an allo character?
This post keeps coming across my dash and idk how to tell u guys but if you’re looking up literally anything on Wikipedia where reality contradicts the imperialist narrative, you’ll find that the power of CIA-affiliated NGO Hitlerism to create easily disprovable disinformation far outweighs the capacity of fully-weaponized autistic pedantry to keep the information on that site reliable.
Native editors are fighting back.
also can people stop painting autism as the genius disability like not everyone who learns a shit load about a topic is autistic not every autistic person is smart stop bringing this starchild rainman shit back
Erasing groups of gender nonconformity, especially drag queens, & writing them off as transphobic does nothing but harm trans women. All you are doing is not giving people the room to play around with their identity & see what they're comfortable with.
In a world with GNC men being ostracized, you are not "protecting" trans women from being too scared to leave the closet. You are erasing the safe place they can turn to that will help them figure out their identity, which in turn will leave more tfems unable to leave the closet.
If we keep battering down every word & community of GNC people because they are ""transphobic"" you are forcing trans people to basically come out immediately or stay in the closet. There is no room for exploration or baby steps.
(Also, GNC people deserve to exist, or course. I say this message in this way because I see too many people act as if allowing gender nonconformity to exist is somehow anti-transition. In actuality, you all demand too much from other trans people.)
Transfems on this site: "God, Testosterone is poison. Anyone with it in their body is a terrible person and likely a predator who shouldn't be trusted"
Transfems who are still testosterone dominant because they can't transition, want to have testosterone in their body, or for any other number of reasons: *now knows that you see them as lesser than you, or invalid, and now feels unsafe around you*
“Trans men can be misogynistic because they’re MEN”
No, everyone can be misogynistic because misogyny is not stored in the gender.
“Now that you’re a man, you need to accept that you are responsible for misogyny!” You are telling on yourself, only one of us thinks my gender is what makes me capable of misogyny. My being a human person makes me capable of misogyny, just the same as anyone else. Including you!
It's wild to me that people who claim to be intersectional feminists will unironically go "Um actually, [ marginalized identity ] men experience normal [ bigotry ] and [ marginalized identity ] women experience special [ bigotry ] because of misogyny"
As if identifying any kind of marginalization as "normal" or "basic" uncritically is okay?? It shows a serious disconnect from the actual reality of the concepts they're claiming to be knowledgeable on.
Like how are you unironically talking about "regular racism is the racism men of color experience"? What do you mean "REGULAR RACISM"???? "BASIC ABLEISM"????? "DEFAULT TRANSPHOBIA"????????? "NORMAL RACISM"!!!!!
Why are you uncritically perpetuating the idea that men's experiences are the default?????? While calling yourself a feminist??????????? Like yes, we desperately need terminology to give voice to multiply marginalized people, especially multiply marginalized women, but in addition to that you're gonna start downplaying the violence of entire systems of power by referring to them as normal/basic/average/default as if that's appropriate at ALL???????? AND WELL OVER HALF THE TIME YOU'RE DOING IT WHILE WHITE???????????????
That's not intersectionality!!!!!!! You are just fully showing your ass over how you actually view marginalized people and systems of oppressive power as a whole!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Prev!!!
[Alt text: Reblog by sociopathicjacket stating in tags:
#also they like to claim that like. anything men experience ALL people of that marginalized identity experience
#so they're not special. and apparently not worth talking about. as if the only thing that can affect your oppression is #identifying as a woman
#not to mention how this completely fucking erased anyone and everyone who isnt a man or a woman lol /end alt text]
^^^^^^ this. Everything you said.
i wish more people acknowledged transfem and transmasc aren't the only trans options.
remember transneu, transandrogynous, transxenine, transnull/transnil, or the countless less acknowledged umbrellas like transmaverine, transaporine, transoutherine, transabinary for example. there's so many more as well that even i can't remember off the top of my head due to how little they're acknowledged
⚠️ Do not use they/them if talking about me to others in reblogs/comments. I have neopronouns in my pinned post ⚠️
reblogging this again but adding in; remember that not only are there other options, those options can be your main or only label! you don't have to use transfem or transmasc at all, not even a tiny bit if you don't think they fit! you can be /only/ transneu, or /only/ transmaverine. don't listen to people who demand you fit in the fem or masc box, you're still trans if you don't use the most talked about options. it's okay to explore and see what works best
