here's the thing.

the tumblr t*rfs are gonna welcome the twitter t*rfs. they're gonna roll out the fucking welcome mat and show them around and make sure they know how to use the website.

same for the goddamn n*zis. this is sort of how both groups work, by being welcoming and friendly. centralizing on tumblr due to twitter kerploding is a thing they are almost certainly doing to some extent.

a lot of y'all are doing GET OFF MY LAWN and YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE LEFT and absolutely fuck that mindset. plenty of people left for good reason! we should be welcoming new people! a lot of people stayed away because other websites kept telling them we were dead! (We weren't, but how would they know?)

I know I reblogged some jokey posts about it at some point (the one with the godfather was pretty funny) but I didn't realize how many people were taking this really seriously.

we want more people here. we want tumblr to make more money, because that will make it more stable. we want to introduce new people to our niche fandoms, this is a good thing for tumblr as a whole and can make our online space more vibrant and interesting. yeah, some shitty people are going to end up coming to tumblr, there's a bunch of shitty people already on tumblr, we need the NON shitty people to also be here and hanging out with us.

op I want you to know a good 20% of conflicts on the DSMP started because of the Cain Instinct. to be fair this is partially because one of the characters who’s involved in a shitton of plot lines has such major little brother energy he somehow has sibling dynamics with like a solid quarter of the cast and is also an annoying shit (he’s great). one of them is a self-proclaimed god who’s murdered him multiple times. he’s not actually a god (probably) though, just an overly enthusiastic scientist. there is another actual god who would find that funny as fuck as well he eats souls. 

the remaining reasons for conflict btw are Politics, Mental Illness, Egg, and The Bit if you were wondering.

yeah, that tends to be most people’s reaction to dream smp lore haha. the server has a pretty fucking insane storyline spread across 30+ povs, this isn’t even scratching the surface. there’s the messed up family trees and timelines, the character who had a child with a fridge, and that child went on to have a child with a salmon (and later his ghost dated an immortal nonbinary sheep). or there’s the fact that several of the most important nations in this world are called stuff like l’manburg or pogtopia. or there’s that one time when inexplicably they just pulled off the most accurate, respectful, and at times beautiful portrayals of abuse, trauma, and recovery i’ve ever seen in media. like, it’s weird af but there’s a reason why it’s popular that goes beyond the ccs being big.

oh yeah, philza minecraft (angel of death and husband of the god of death) canonically experimented in college with a Samsung smart refrigerator and that’s how he had his son wilbur. Wilbur then fell in love with a salmon accountant named sally, had a son with her in the walls of his nation (despite the fact his son was born before the nation was created- timelines are weird), and possibly ate her. this son, fundy, is a fox despite being 1/4 fridge 1/4 angel and 1/2 salmon. also when wilbur died his ghost ghostbur found a sheep called friend who was immortal and he became his girlfriend. ghostbur was high on drugs the whole time unsurprisingly.
