It's always fun when an author claims their work contains no politics, because either they're blatantly lying, or they genuinely think they're telling the truth and you get a lot of insight into what assertions about human nature they regard as so obviously and self-evidently true as to lie outside the political sphere.
keep that furnace fed with the fossils of the dead...
[id: art from hadestown, depicting many of the characters within a gilded portrait frame. the background shows a red sky and smoking industrial stacks. persephone stands at the top of the image, wearing a black dress, with a mournful expression. a red flower blooms beneath her, with orpheus standing in front of it, holding a smaller one. at the bottom of the image, the three fates follow behind eurydice, who is walking in the opposite direction from orpheus. her coat blows around her and a bird flies in her wake. a blue thread loops around all four of them. end id.]
why are scissors packaged the way they are it’s like they’re taunting us. Oh wow this is such a difficult awful packaging to get through that seems to cause physical damage to your hands as some sort of sick self defense mechanic, if only i had something to help get through it, something sharp perhaps
what sort of sick twisted game is it trying to play here

liking a ship but disliking the distinct set of stock fanon that they have been assigned is like one of those punishments dante came up with when he wrote the worldbuilding for hell in inferno
Pros and Cons of making things
Pro: Thing
Con: Make
you summed up the struggle of all creators ever so nicely
they weren’t kidding when they said the only way out is through
used to think it terribly silly (and kinda funny) when fantasy or sci-fi stories would have people refer to major recent historical events as The Flood or The Incident or The Revolution, and im sure historians fucking hate that because it's not helpful or descriptive, but we sure do be calling it The Pandemic
Also the new linguistic quirk of just saying “it was 2020” as like. The full end of a story. You say “it was 2020” and everyone knows what you mean.
“I was going to get my masters degree but then it was 2020, so yeah”
“I was cast in a play and then it was 2020”
“my boyfriend proposed but then it was 2020”
