So I just did a bit of math and research and I’m furious.

According to several articles, the average Millennial has a net worth of $8,000 (source 1, source 2).

The US Census Bureau estimates there are about 83.1 million Millennials.

So, if that’s the average, then we can estimate the total net worth of the Millennial demographic group in the US:

$664,800,000,000 (664.8 billion dollars)

So about two-thirds of a trillion dollars. Sounds like a lot… but it’s spread over more than eighty million people. (and don’t forget that Mark Zuckerberg might be skewing that number, with his net worth of $62.3 billion and being a Millennial himself, but I’m fairly certain that he’s not included in my sources’ surveys)

To put that in perspective:

The top ten billionaires have more money than the entire combined Millennial demographic.

Ten people.

Even if we just restrict it to US billionaires, Jeff Bezos, pre-divorce, had more money than a combined number of “average Millennials” sufficient to fill NYC’s official boundaries twice over (16 million Millennials net worth: 128 billion. Bezos net worth: 131 billion). The Koch Brothers, may they be speedily reunited, had more money between the pair of them to make that same comparison to the State of Ohio (estimated population of Ohio: 11.6 million. Koch Brothers’ net worth, $100 billion).

Gee, I wonder why Millennials are so much more accepting of socialism and taxing the rich than the preceding generations?

The "trans-trender" myth is so so so so fucking dangerous. Y'all are making it so hard for people to question and explore their identity. There is no such thing as an actual transtrender. They're just trans people you don't like, or they're cis people who questioned their gender identity and then decided they weren't trans.

Being trans has never, ever, ever been a "trendy" thing. Yes, trans people are becoming more well-known, but is almost always shown in a bad or misinformed light. Trans people are still getting abused, beaten, murdered, fired, kicked out, etc for being trans.

Have you ever considered how fucking astonishing babies crying is?

The young of other animals don’t make noise, or if they do, barely any at all. Baby birds only start chirping when their parents come back with the food, kittens meow to their mothers because cat communication is extremely subtle and drawing your caretaker’s attention may require a sound when you have eight siblings. At this point, they can already see and walk.

But human babies? Crying is essentially the first willful action that they learn. Months before being able to move on your own, or even hold your own fucking head up, or being able to choose when and where you defecate. Before anything else, a skill more valuable than anything else, is a distress call.

A distress call specifically intended to be impossible to ignore.

Before object permanence or theory of mind, without even an understanding of what help they need, who could provide it, and whether they choose to do so, a human being is capable of expressing that there is something wrong in the state they are in, that they are powerless to correct on their own.

This is what was evolutionarily selected above silent babies that did not attract predators. This is what was selected instead of young who could instantly walk. This is what was selected as the ideal offspring for the human race. Not one that runs. Not one that hides. Not one that can fend for itself. A creature that can communicate, if only the simplest, most inherent message: I need help.

I’m losing it I’m on the phone with roadside assistance bc my car broke down and they asked “is it a mechanical issue, an act of god, or vandalism?” And I laughed like “mechanical issue. Maybe an act of god” thinking it meant like, maybe god just has it out for me, and she said “if it was an Act of God, I’ll need to forward you to the claims department.”

And thats how I found out that’s insurance companies’ way to LEGALLY refer to hurricane and tornado damage.

there’s a rule in mormonism that you Absolutely Cannot see a woman naked. however, since we as a species usually LOVE to jack off, people found a way around it.

basically what they do is take pictures of beautiful bikini women or whatever, and cover the bits that would be deemed unseeable, and creating bubbles around certain parts like the stomach and neck, to give off the illusion that they’re naked.

that way they can jack off freely without guilt. it is generally effective, but since it’s so obscure it looks like some kind of odd fetish.

In conclusion, anybody with a sex drive, no matter the religion, will absolutely try their hardest to jack off, even if it means really fuckin strange loopholes. thank u for ur time.

I’m sorry, I just can’t forget that Elizabeth Warren claimed to be Native American. I just can’t trust someone who reached that level of peak whiteness.

Her mother told her when she was younger that she was, she wrote an essay on her heritage for college based primarily on stories from her mother.

Last October she did release a report on a DNA analysis that was said to show a pure Native American ancestor appeared in her ancestry “in the range of six to 10 generations ago.”

All in all, they were able to conclude that she does have native american ancestry, not as much as initially believed, but nonetheless an adequate amount. We need to take another step forward and keep in mind that genetic testing/analysis for ancestry has only been possible in the last 10 years (three years for consumer markets). She wrote her paper in college, and believed her mother all of her life That is why she said that. Ancestry is a hard thing, especially prior to modern technologies as they were all based on stories being passed down to descendants ad nauseam, not on anything substantial like we have today.

Elizabeth Warren DID NOT claim to be Native American. She reported that she had some Native American ancestry. Those are 2 very different things. She didn’t make a big deal out of it. Trump, otoh, did by calling her POCAHONTAS. Which one do you really think was behaving poorly?

She appeared at the National Indian Women Honor luncheon a few months ago to support a Native Leader from Massachusetts, who was winning an award, and she got a standing ovation.

She has also been working on legislation with Rep. Deb Haaland (New Mexico), the first Native American woman to serve in Congress that seeks to address funding shortfalls in tribal lands.

Even her critics admit she’s addressed the issue, to an extent, well:

Julian Brave Noisecat, a Native American journalist and activist who has criticized Warren previously, has said: “Based on my conversations with tribal leaders and advocates, the consensus position is that she’s one of the strongest allies of Indian country in Congress. She has good relationships with tribes across the board. And I think that’s relevant.”

Mr. Noisecat also said the ancestry matter had become double-edged: “More than any other Democratic presidential candidate, Ms. Warren has caused the most upset among Native American communities, but has also probably done the most outreach and is more vocal on issues that effect tribal citizens than other presidential candidates.”

María Urbina, the national political director of the progressive group Indivisible, said she and other liberal leaders were encouraged by Ms. Warren’s decision to apologize. Going forward, Ms. Urbina said she expected liberal activists to take their cues from Native leaders on whether Ms. Warren had adequately addressed their concerns.

“Native leaders and native people should be the ones to affirm — or not affirm — whether her record shows if she’s been an ally,” Ms. Urbina said. “That’s absolutely important.”
