Malfunction // Hongbin Fanfiction // Ch. 1

Genre: Angst, fluff, Error AU, Hongbin x female!reader

Word Count: 1,560

Summary: Despite living in a time overrun with machines, Hongbin is one of a kind. The most advanced of his kind ever to exist, and he manages to find the one thing that the others aren’t capable of: love. However, loss isn’t something he had accounted for.

I’M SO EXCITED TO WRITE THIS! I have a sequel planned for the future, too, so look forward to it! New characters and new romances… man, I’m so hyped. Basically, this is based on the Error MV (my favourite kpop mv tbh) because I have too many ideas and theories and I need a release, so here you go! Enjoy!

Faces were always a blur to Hongbin. Every face, in every crowd. It was just the same pixelated mess, over and over, passing every side of him. It wasn’t anything to do with his eyes, or his functionality, it was more to do with the fact that he didn’t really want to see people’s faces. Why would he? They could never mean anything to him.

Faces weren’t important when each one would be gone in a second. Why would he waste the energy remembering a face that he would never see again?

Although, the one thing the faces always did seem to provide was a sense of realism. As Hongbin sat on the sidewalk, doing nothing but looking at those mangled features, he began to realise how truly alone he was. It was like this every day. He always had the same realisation. In a world full of humans, and machines that only lived to serve, he was stuck in the half-way point.
