For some reason the idea of Elmer being roommates/housemates with Sam and Marvin has lodged in my brain and will not leave. Thoughts on that?

THINK OF THE CHAOS THAT COULD ENSUE.

But seriously, that sounds like a really fun idea. Like, Marvin is the one trying to figure out all the human rituals like cleaning and cooking (“Earthling, why is that machine so loud?! Why do we add spices again? Can’t you just imagine it like I do?”) and vice versa. Sam is the bad influence who tries to get Marvin to fill his selfish needs like robbing banks and stuff.

Elmer is just the one that is tired of their shit but won’t do really anything to stop them. Sometimes he’ll step in and lead Marvin towards the good things in life, like drinking tea and meditation. Sam just takes up a lot of that relaxation time with his shenanigans.

So yeah, that idea is 1000% valid and I agree fullheartedly agree that it’s a fun one!!

What do you think about Elmer having a minor role in The Looney Tunes Show? Personally, I thought him not being part of the main cast was a big failure... but that's just me.

If the series were to continue on, I think there could’ve been a lot of possibilities with him. Maybe he meets Bugs and Daffy through an interview or something and they have a modern day version of their old cartoons. Maybe Bugs works for him and forms that friendly rivalry. Maybe Elmer has to hide from paparazzi or something. It just sucks that the series ended so soon.

I actually started to think about some sort of coinciding timeline alongside the main series that could be a good spinoff.

Okay, so, he got thrown into the spotlight because of a… certain film that made him famous. He acted in a few things, not quite well known. BNN eventually offered him a news reporter gig. However, he doesn’t know a lick about getting good stories. So, he just steals them from other stations before they could report it.

He gets a bad reputation amongst the news community, sure, but that’s just them. To the people, he’s a charming, charismatic man who’s quick to get a story out. That way, it could fit the sort of “bad guy” role from the old cartoons without him being too much of a jerk.

Just something that I thought about this week. I agree 100% that he should’ve been used more. I say that for the rest of the minor cast too.

hey there everyone! it’s my main man’s 85th birthday today!! thought i’d give a little backstory about myself for this one to feel a little more sentimental.

seems kind of cheesy, but honestly, this cartoon kind of changed my life. i used to watch “the bugs bunny road runner movie” at 4-5 am when i was around 8. just this movie. and i always come back just to watch this. i’ll never forget the first time i watched it. bawled my eyes out. this was the one that kind of started my hyperfixation on elmer.

honestly, if i hadn’t seen this cartoon, i wouldn’t have wanted to pursue a career in animation. i wouldn’t have made so many great memories, met some many wonderful people (shoutout to Cel for feasting on LT content alongside me the past year or so), and honestly would never be where i am today. i would probably be a completely different person, to be quite honest.

so, i just wanna say thank you, and return the love (hehe get it?) back to you guys like you have given me here. i honestly used to be made fun of and mocked for this hyperfixation (it’s been almost 11-12 years now). i just, i’m really happy i found a space like this on tumblr, where all my cringe thoughts can go free to the wind. y’all are seriously the best.

Ok, so, just a short one I’m afraid. 

Bugs always gets Elmer flowers. He aims for a different bunch every year. Thankfully his husband likes all types of flowers. [Excluding ones that stink]

In previous years Elmer always made Bugs a special meal, usually about three courses, each one including carrots. [Although Bugs does enjoy carrots, they’re not actually that good for him so he usually tries not to eat them to much] In more recent years though Elmer has found his enjoyment of cooking waning a bit, and although he tried to muster the energy for Valentine’s day he found it a bit of a chore.

Bugs [of course] found out about this and suggested that instead they go to Bosko’s. What now sometimes happens is that Elmer gives Bosko and Honey the menu he would have made and they cook it for him. Much easier.
