What do you think is each Cullen's favorite holiday and how do they celebrate? Do the answers change now that Bella/Jake/Nessie are a part of the family? Maybe Rose likes Mother's Day more now, for example.
I feel like Carlisle would like Easter–aside from the religious aspect, it’s just a time of hope and renewal, and I’ve always thought the thing that sets him apart from the more morose Edward is that even though he has his doubts about vampirism, he has hope. He hopes, ‘perhaps foolishly’ that they have souls, etc. Also the themes of redemption and salvation around Easter would be appealing to him. I think it’s one of the few times of year that he attends a church service–he’s not terribly picky about the denomination. Sometimes Esme goes with him but she doesn’t get the same thing out of it that he does. Edward goes once a decade or so. Renesmee has gone a few times out of curiosity, but she’s pretty far removed from human ideas of spirituality, having been born in-human and functionally immortal. Esme is here for Christmas but strictly in a secular sense–the sense of family, of gift giving, of ‘good cheer’ and all that ‘most wonderful time of the year!!’ stuff. Even if you headcanon her as not Christian or non-religious, I think she would just get caught up in the secular festiveness. I also imagine she and Carlisle were married in December (since SM implies Esme was vampirized and married within the same year, them marrying in Dec gives them maximum time to like … process everything that happened to her and reach a place of trust and love) so she just likes the winter holiday vibe, whatever religion she does or does not practice. I feel like she was horrified when she found out Carlisle and Edward hadn’t really done anything for the holidays before her.

like young adult-just-turned vampires trying to figure out vampirism while they go to college or their part time jobs. walking around with O negative in a fucking reusable starbucks tumbler to keep their hunger under control but it’s also for the aesthetic. “extreme” camping trips where they just get drunk (bc YES vampires can get drunk fuck off smeyer logic) and jump off cliffs cause it doesn’t kill them so why not?? millennial vampires studying technology coming together and birthing a “vampire web” (like the dark web but only in the sense that it’s impossible to access unless you’re a vampire) so they could continue using social media without exposing themselves. literally creating a private internet bc they’d rather die than give up shitposting and memes for eternity please i need more millennial vampires

i hate I HATE that renesmee is gen z i absolutely despise it the mental image of renesmee scrolling through tiktok fawning over e-girls whilst wearing a kpop shirt tshirt and a pair of adidas superstars has absolutely driven me over the edge and plunged me into a pit of despair i just can’t handle the thought of her watching emma chamberlain videos on youtube and being excited to receive the james charles palette in the mail it’s just too much

thinkin about how the first time i watched twilight as a kid i was sick one night and my mom brought me a copy of twilight that she had rented from a physical dvd store and was like “this is popular with girls your age and i know that’s what i liked when i was a kid anyways here” and so i watched it in the dark on my first laptop and my repressed tweenage ass (having read twilight and then learned to hate it for 8th grade clout) in some kind of flu induced fever of repetition kept going “this isn’t that bad? i’m sure it gets bad later” and it didn’t and i got schooled basically because twilight is good
