"And then he leans in to kiss me again, sweet and feather-soft. And itās almost too perfect. Almost too Disney. This canāt actually be me."
Oh my god, I canāt even imagine my emotions for the finale. Iām going to cry the night before, the night of, the night after, and that same night 8 years later.
Andi Mack Reunion Live Stream Mini Recap:
-Tyrus is still endgame and had the most perfect wedding ever
-Ambi is canon
-Kippen siblings is canon
-Luke did the rap apology that TJ sang to Buffy and still knew 95% of it
-They said there was basically an entire episode that got deleted where Bex went on a date with someone and Andi was NOT okay with it.
-They all said they'd return for a reunion- Asher the first to say yes.
-They watched a Lemon Boy edit together and Asher said it was a "beautiful edit" and Trent said it was made by a genius and he teared up
-Emily said "Amber loves lesbians"
-The cast sang the theme song acapella š„ŗā£ļø
-Asher had originally said "no" to playing Jonah because he wouldn't play frisbee and they auditioned many more guys until they were like "fuck it let's teach him frisbee"
-Emily had auditioned for Andi but since they had locked in on giving Peyton the role of Andi, they wrote in Amber for Emily specifically š It was because her agent called the producers to say, "We know she messed up the audition, but she'd really like to try again." And after this, Terri knew they had to write in Amber for her.
-They also wrote Iris for Molly
-Terri Minski said Luke's hair was a character in itself. They had told Terri that Luke was an Evangelist Christian, so she took Luke and his parents to lunch to talk about it because she was stressed out because TJ was going to be gay. She had told Luke and his parents what was happening and they cried, and she was so nervous, and they told her that they were so honored. Luke said he thought he was going to get fired because he only shot one episode and didn't understand why he was being taken to lunch.
-The guy whose audition video played before Trent's got the part for 20 seconds before Terri saw Trent's audition
-Terri said Lilan wore the weirdest audition outfit ever, and it was her good luck outfit.
-Terri called them "lighting in a bottle" because she's not sure she'll ever get someone as special as this cast together again
-Tyrus was NOT supposed to be canon, but they shot the scenes anyways. They had said, "We gave you one gay character, we're not going to give you TWO." But they fought hard for it, and they found allies that allowed it to happen.
-Disney is still saying that they are looking for the "new Andi Mack" and Terri is adamant that they already have it, and she would love more than anything to bring the cast back together again for a spin off
-Terri had wanted Andi to repeat the cycle LMAO. AKA, teen pregnancy. Disney said, "NO WAY!"
Here is a pic of the stream before Josh and Trent had to leave! Terri left after a few more questions, too.
DJ Fruity Live Performance
-Younger fans would see Emily and scream "Amber alert!" and run
-Luke uses an Andi Mack journal as his personal diary
-Bi Bex Canon. Lilan said something along the lines of: Did you not see the clothes she'd wear? Of course she's bi.
-They played a behind the scenes clip of the Tyrus bench scene. I screen recorded, but THERE IS LAG. I'm sure there is a better video out there, but here is this for now.
-Luke and Josh wrote an episode of Andi Mack where a blackout happens in Shadyside and nobody can use their phone. Everyone is forced to go outside. But they were too scared to pitch it so nothing ever came of it. They also wrote an outline for an Andi Mack movie.
It was an extremely long live stream, and they were entertaining and funny the entire time. They were able to raise $20k for the families affected by the LA fires, and you can still donate here if you'd like it's live for another week as of now, 1/26/25. I missed them and the Andi Mack magic so much. I hope they do this again in the future.

ARTHUR PENDRAGON: a tragic greek hero for @arthurpendragonns
How to rise from the floor when itās not you Iām rising for?
Iāve seen a lot of Disney animated movies where characters grieved their loved ones, but they donāt come close to what weāve all seen in this scene. I donāt think Iāve seen anything quite like The Next Right Thing in any Disney film, and Iām still derailed just thinking about it. Anna, still so beautiful even in her grief, went through the darkest moment of her life. She was truly living her nightmare -Ā and that nightmare is losing Elsa, her only family member left. The one person she lived for and died for. The one person she would follow anywhere and everywhere.
But she couldnāt follow Elsa this time.Ā
While most animated movies skip the whole experience of grief and its aftermath, we get three minutes of watching Anna break and bleed while being trapped in a cave.Ā
I donāt even want to do a close-up scene analysis because I think itās pretty straightforward. So straightforward and raw that it hurts like hell watching a series of expressions flash across Annaās face and hearing the way her voice cracks.
I felt my heart break into pieces when I saw Anna curled up on the ground like a wounded animal. She was so small. And her posture? The animation team did a breathtaking job in going all out on this and making it so painfully real. Kristen Bellās delivery of the song and Anna looking like someone punched her in the gut as air leaves her lungs broke me.Ā
This is the picture of depression. Anna ā a metaphorical sun, the picture of optism and hope ā was ready to succumb to darkness. Hopeless. What happens when darkness encompasses the sun?Ā
What do you do when thereās no way out and all strength leaves your knees and you fall to the ground?Ā
What happens when all hope is gone?
Anna sings about this darkness āā how itās cold, empty, numb, and grief having a gravity that pulls her down. Itās hard to breathe. Itās hard to move. The lights are out and thereās only emptiness.Ā
This whole scene shows what depression is.Ā And to see Anna go through it āā Anna, a character who is known for her radiance and fierce optimism āā hits me so hard because it shows that even the strongest and liveliest people can also hit rock bottom to the point where they donāt think they can ever survive.
Kristen Bell talked about the song in an interview and she said this: āA lot of people feel that feeling: What do I do when I donāt know what to do? My personal mantra is you just do the next right thing. It also stems from when I am experiencing anxiety and depression. What do I do when I donāt want to get out of bed in the morning? You just do the next right thing, and thatās stepping out of bed. The next right thing is brushing your teeth. The next right thing is eating your breakfast. The next right thing is looking at your calendar and going to work. This idea of having an intrinsic motivation vs. extrinsic motivation is something that as a parent I know is incredibly important to show kids and to help them cope. I really wanted Anna to be representative of that.ā
Bravo, Frozen 1, for showing us what the storms of anxiety look like and feels like through Elsa. Bravo, Frozen 2, for showing us what depression looks like through Anna āā and for diving deeper and showing us its gravity and how it can weigh you down and derail you. The thing is though⦠both characters triumphed and continue to triumph in spite of it all. Thatās the heart of the movie. Thatās the message.
Elsa chose to let it go and Anna took another step, and another until she found the light again.Ā
They taught us to step into the unknown. To do the next right thing even when it burns your soul to the ground. And sometimes, the next right thing is to simply breathe and to breathe again.Ā
Thank you, Elsa and Anna, for showing us that hope is the most powerful force in this world.Ā
And love? Love is permanent.Ā
