Fun fact: If my younger sister was in a car accident and desperately needed a blood transfusion to live, and I was the only person on Earth who could donate blood to save her, and even though donating blood is a relatively easy, safe, and quick procedure no one can force me to give blood. Yes, even to save the life of a fully grown person, it would be ILLEGAL to FORCE me to donate blood if I didn’t want to.

See, we have this concept called “bodily autonomy.” It’s this….cultural notion that a person’s control over their own body is above all important and must not be infringed upon. 

Like, we can’t even take LIFE SAVING organs from CORPSES unless the person whose corpse it is gave consent before their death. Even corpses get bodily autonomy. 

To tell people that they MUST sacrifice their bodily autonomy for 9 months against their will in an incredibly expensive, invasive, difficult process to save what YOU view as another human life (a debatable claim in the early stages of pregnancy when the VAST majority of abortions are performed) is desperately unethical. You can’t even ask people to sacrifice bodily autonomy to give up organs they aren’t using anymore after they have died. 

You’re asking people who can become pregnant to accept less bodily autonomy than we grant to dead bodies.

People who DARED to have consensual sex without the goal of procreation in mind, and this is their “consequence.”

Hello! Have you heard of Affectiontale? If so, what are your thoughts on it? If not, you can ignore me!

I haven’t keep track of the AU itself, but the content? Damn, that’s some quality wholesome content. 

It’s super fluffy with no apparent angst and- I mean, I really need some sweetness in the middle of my bittersweet (mostly bitter at the moment) fanfiction (in case you don’t know, I’m the creator of “More than I thought”, and it’s been having some really really angsty chapters lately). 

Affectiontale, also, it’s kind of my aesthetic y’ know? I associate it with a lot of pastel colors- and that’s my kind of shit. Like, lavender, a really light pink, and some sky blue? Yes please, thank you!

Heya, uh... can I request some Shane (sorry) headcanons about an anxious farmer who ends up being his S/O? (again, sorry)

I had some difficulties with making this one flow properly, but I hope you like it! It was a lot of fun to explore Shane's softer side! Shane is my favorite bachelor so you don't ever have to feel bad for requesting him <3 (if you like shane you should read my Good Guy Shane ficlet ;) )

The new farmer in town never really talks to Shane after he coldly shrugs off their introduction, scared of what he may say to her if they continues to bother him.

They cross paths for the second time when the farmer goes to Marnie’s ranch to ask about raising her own farm animals

Shane is subbing in for Marnie for the day, and before the farmer can leave unnoticed, not ready to speak to him, he acknowledges them so they are forced to stay.

Shane quickly catches on the farmer is a little anxious and lets out a big sigh, putting on a friendlier smile and tone to make them feel more comfortable and answering any questions the farmer may have the best he can

They continue to avoid each other after that interaction- the farmer too scared to bother him again and Shane likes to be left alone.

The farmer sees Shane drinking at the dock late at night one day and tries to ignore it but Shane sees them and calls them over

Shane rips opens his heart to them and explains his view on life, giving the farmer a whole new view of him, giving the farmer the courage to admit they can relate in some ways

After that night they often smile at each other in the saloon but continue to keep their distance

The farmer gains more confidence as time goes on when it comes to interacting with Shane, finding that he is easier to talk to than anyone else in town

The farmer realizes their feelings for Shane when they are having an especially bad day: all their crops died right after planting them, their pet is sick, they missed Evelyn’s birthday, and now Alex is hitting on them~ but Shane comes to the farmer’s rescue, using his cold demeanor to make Alex go away and take the farmer somewhere quieter to calm down and talk about their day. He even offers to help them out.

Shane brings the farmer a bouquet at their house early one morning, his own hands shaking from how nervous he is. Of course the farmer says yes!

Shane does his best not to do anything to worry the farmer- after realizing how badly he scared the farmer the night he almost dies he does his best to show the farmer he is giving up drinking forever

Whenever the farmer is feeling anxious he intertwines their fingers and kisses the back of their palm as silent support

Shane often pushes himself out of his own comfort zone to show the farmer certain things are safe and that everything is okay, being the one to ask them to the flower dance and accompanying them through the haunted maze.

Shane is always there for hugs and back rubs to calm the farmer down and support them

Regular symbols of affection from Shane! He always makes sure to tell the farmer that he loves them and to show it properly, even when he is moody.
