Spawnism Cannibalism Theory
While it is true that it may be for shock factor, there could be not only a reason why cannibalism is a big deal for the cult, but also a possible reason how you can easily get tricked into eating said victims. If youāre creative enough, you can find a valid reason for it to make sense. I have two theories.
Theory 1:
Cannibalism regarding having the second death. You need to kill your āsacrificial lambā to eat said lamb for a second life. Simple enough, and not the craziest reason to resort to cannibalism.
Theory 2:
This oneās a bit more out of pocket, and borderline insane. Heat me out here.
If the canon is still true as to how Two Time and Azure met, They confused Azure as some sort of beast to hunt. Whichā¦ why confused a human being with a beast? It doesnāt make a lot of sense, and yet, another thing that doesnāt make sense is the gollum. It seemsā¦ out of nowhere. Why have that? The plants make sense, but why the gollum?
Given the update today, we learned that Aspen/Azure(?) isnāt the spy, heās simply a cultist, and whomever is behind the pages is someone else. Whether he grew up in the cult or entered the cult with Two Time is unknown.
What we do know about Azure is that heās a botanist that works with medicineā¦ and dare I say, hallucinogens. Perhaps Two Time was hallucinating into believing Azure was the gollum. I donāt think it would be one and the same design, but itās definitely something to take note of.
If we consider hallucinogens, it could explain why no one noticed that the cultists were eating people. I donāt think Azure was knowingly doing this, I think he was doing this under Amarahās command, but still.
That may also explain why Azure discover the corpses if he was unknowingly drugging the cultist. Why would a random cultist who has no business anywhere near Amarahās secrets, get so close in the first place if he wasnāt tricked into working with Amarah to drug everyone?
Howeverā¦ when Azure died the way he did, Two Time had to eat Azure without the hallucinations helping them. Maybe as punishment for plots of escape, maybe because they ran out. I donāt know.
Combined with the grief of losing his bestfriend/lover, and the harsh reality that they ate said bestfriend/lover, it could explain their suicide.
And thatās my theory on it.
