“Most of the intelligence community doesn’t believe he exists. The ones that do call him the Winter Soldier. He’s credited with over two dozen assassinations in the last fifty years.”
You can finally rest now.
I'm not crying.
Since people are so mad about my previous text post, let me remind you that:
Steve’s arc is always about him being a man out of time that lives in the present. It was difficult for him at first to adjust (the end of CA: TFA, Avengers).
But then he started to go blend in (CA: TWS) where he learned a lot about the present days, hence him taking notes on everything and natasha trying to find him a date. He met one of the most important character to steve in the comics, sam. Also remember that steve and peggy had a a crucial scene on this film. She said she has lived a life and have a whole family with her. She also told steve that they cannot change the past and he needed to start over. (I also want to point out the ending in Agent Carter series where he literally throw away steve’s blood and said goodbye). This is steve’s closure for peggy. Which follows to the the scene where he tried to ask sharon, one of the most important character in steve’s life in the comics, out. Let me remind you of all the people that nat suggested, sharon is the only one he didn’t turn down. He then knew bucky was alive and tried to save him.
On Avenges: Age of Ultron, we didn’t see much of his arc. But we saw his fear that he didn’t want the fight to end. Also at the end of the film, he said he’s “home” referring to the present days.
This leads to the next film (CA: CW). He tried his best to save his best friend to have a second chance in life, just like him. Also peggy’s passed a way so that bucky is his only connection to the past. Again, here, he tried to ask sharon out again. And this time instead of the girl making a move on steve, he was the one who did it and he kissed sharon.
I don’t mention his arc in infinity war because he barely say a thing. Then we have… endgame. Where he suddenly forgot everything and left the present to be with a woman who has moved on. And left his family in the present. What the hell.
So, yes. Endgame!Steve negates his whole arc in the mcu. He was not just out of character, he murdered his character. He really disrespected peggy’s choice to be her own person and move on. He disrespected her whole family. He disrespected his family in the present (bucky, sam, sharon, the avengers). He disrespected comic relationship that lasted 50+ years and still going.
Thank u.

unpopular opinion but Tony’s ass deserves recognition too
You mean popular opinion.
Everyone is talking about America's ass, but they forget that the original ass. Tony's ass. Have you seen that? Is art. Honestly. If the russos were not such a cowards, they would have encouraged Steve to admire Tony's butt. I feel robbed. Please welcome the Iron Ass, our lord and savior. Literally.

yall ever think abt tony and just
Yeah
I feel like no one is talking about Tony and Steve’s confrontation scene, but it’s so important!!! can we please just take a moment and appreciate this, because it was such a much needed scene. “I needed you. You weren’t there.” holds so much depth and hurt. Tony felt betrayed and alone, he felt like he lost a friend he could count on. Steve broke his trust and Tony wasn’t just hurt, he was genuinely mad at him. And finally after so long, he let out everything he wanted to say. He embraced his pain and confronted his trauma. And i’m glad we could see him being so emotional, because this has been something that’s been hurting him for such a long time. As for Steve, he finally realized how deeply he hurt Tony. He could see how much impact it had on him and he could feel it up close at last. Tony needed to snap at him and Steve needed to hear this out, so they could both finally move on. It was such a heartbreaking, intense, yet beautiful and cathartic scene.
Thank you.
The paralell
This is 100% my favourite Far From Home poster because all I see is another version of small Peter and Iron Man in this scene from IM2. I love this parallel.
I'M NOT CRYING
I am living for all these articles coming from sites that have been critical of Tony in the past now saying that, “Tony was right all along.” Even the Russos out there saying Tony had the right idea creating Ultron (it just backfired) and critics saying Tony was right in Civil War because he was trying to keep the Avengers together “whatever it takes.”
Like… it’s such beautiful validation. So many of us have been saying these things for years, but it was easy to vilify Tony. Now? Look who was The Real Hero the whole damn time.
As heartbreaking as Tony’s ending was, I do agree with the many critics saying that there’s honestly no better way to end a superhero’s story: with them giving the ultimate sacrifice. Tony died a martyr. He died performing the most selfless kind of heroism imaginable. That can’t be taken away from him. And all the haters still trying to somehow spin Tony into a villain end up looking like idiots and get torn to shreds in critical commentary. It’s hilarious.
Me @ Russos: I resent you 3000
Fu @ k, russos. Why do you hate my baby that much?
