“For New York City Pride in 1994 (Stonewall 25), Baker created a mile-long rainbow flag that was carried down First Avenue in Manhattan. During the parade, Baker used scissors to cut segments from the flag to be rushed to Fifth Avenue for an impromptu protest march in front of St. Patrick’s Cathedral, the headquarters of New York City’s anti-gay Catholic archdiocese.

They’re trying to build a massive AI data center where I live and during public comment period over 1200 people sent letters. According to our local reporter, of those 1200 only ONE SINGLE COMMENT was in favour. It’s also the most public comments they’ve ever received.

People don’t want data centres. They don’t want more AI. They want the land to be for humans and their governments to make choices for the people, not massive corporations. People want jobs that pay living wages and to be able to live their lives without fear of billionaire oligarchs laying them off and replacing them with AI (that doesn’t actually replace them, just makes everyone else who’s left have more work).
