@venarenalis
It is funny with bigotry where people unaffected by it act like that somehow disproves it. At an old job, talked to HR about a co-worker who kept calling me a faggot, and the HR person was like "Are you sure? He's never said anything like that to me."
Gee, Hetero Jessica, he's never called you a faggot? Then I must have misheard him!

in fair verona, we lay our scene
Can’t explain it but they’re really cunty in this photo
Art grad student answer: it's the contrapposto.
This is a counterbalanced pose where the weight is rested on one leg and the hips and shoulders are tilted in opposite directions. It emphasizes the curves of the body.
Cuntrapposto.

“Rashid” —> Real Rashid —> Really Rashid
This song felt fitting for where we’re headed this season
I'm glad the writers turned the "I have the blood of Akasha in me" into a sort of silly affirmation Lestat does to hype himself up because when he said it the first time, it was a serious situation, like it was a good taunt against Armand that's gonna come back to break him once he does find out who Akasha is and why he didn't know but it was also sort of ridiculous already. Like "I have the blood of Akasha in me. He doesn't know who that is", yeah, exactly, bro, WE DON'T FUCKING KNOW WHO THE FUCK THAT IS, this is not the burn you think it is!
lestat's point of view is so interesting because he's trying to distract us but it doesn't really work. in the auvergne flashbacks he gives just enough context to establish that he had a terrible upbringing, but he doesn't want to deep dive. and that's how most people talk about their abusive childhoods, isn't it? they say "my family was very toxic" and give an example that might not sound so bad, but you're left wondering what else happened
when he talks about his relationship with gabriella, oh he's definitely not telling us everything. i mean, when did they start sleeping together, exactly? after they were both turned, because "it's different for vampires"? then what was that medicine scene all about?
also, in louis' account lestat comes across as a cruel killer with no regrets -- which he is, of course. but now we get a more nuanced performance from sam reid, and we can see a slight hesitation when lestat realizes his next victim has a family. we can see something resembling guilt or sadness when he hears the children scream at the sight of his father and brothers corpses. but he doesn't elaborate on it, like louis might have done. does lestat believe the human race is horrible, but the children could still be saved? does he believe he could have been saved? we'll never know because he's too busy talking nonsense to distract us from this kind of reflection
that's why this season feels rushed for some people, because he is rushing through the memories he doesn't wanna revisit. the thing is, we can see through his attempt at being dismissive towards his own trauma and sensibilities. and i'm sure the show won't let him get away with it, just like daniel didn't let louis get away with his misconstructions of the truth
unfortunately not over the name thomas pitt. show of all time.

(Armand is talking about his relationship with Lestat, for those who forgot)
having a hometown is such a fucked up concept. i grew up here so i do not want to stay here anymore. i miss it when i am away but once i am back i realise why i wanted to go away as far as possible from it. i am familiar with every corner of this place i did not realise when it slowly changed into something unrecognisable. i would probably like to be buried here but i'd rather die than live here

Your art of Lestat with a belly is actually the sexiest thing ever🤤 please draw more!!
you're in luck because i actually do have more

I’m confused. What does that post about taking claudia back actually mean? I also thought it was about the train
“I see why you gave him a daughter. I see why you took her back.”
Gabriella isn’t referring to the train scene. She’s referring to the trial. She’s saying that Louis is so beautiful, she could understand Lestat giving him the daughter he wanted, but then growing jealous and angry enough with LouClaudia to kill her and “take her back”.
She’s accusing Lestat of happily letting Claudia die out of jealousy. This is why Lestat gets upset and tries to retaliate by singing in French. And this is why the scene is then cut with flashbacks of Gabriella happily killing one of her own children. She is, once again, projecting herself onto Lestat and believing he’d do the same with ease.
So many complaints online about The Vampire Lestat for various reasons, but it couldn't be me. I'm moisturized, unbothered, in my lane watching my traumatized king pretend he isn't traumatized only to be slowly overcome by his horrific memories. Sam Reid, you are a god of an actor (and so are you Jacob Anderson, *chef's kiss* to both of you and also Eric Bogosian.)
he has a sadness in his eyes you only see in eastern european gay porn
