The Golden Girls – 2.15: Before and After
Every time I think about starting a ship war I remember I'm over thirty and I don't really care
『🏹』 — harding's traveler's kit + details
I'm back with a new portrait !
Prints are avaible here.
Fixing Shadowheart so that she looks better 🫶
(Sorry for those who already like the portrait!)
yes we are all very impressed with the depth of your research. Your 27 citations in two sentences, however, goes past ‘impressive’ and becomes ‘your historical article looks like the goddamn warrior cats wiki page for firestar’
Genuinely what this article looks like
Than there is the other option:
which makes one grateful for citation styles that contracts the 90 references into one, instead of doing stuff like
this.
because yes, we are really very impressed with the depth of your research, but come on
#1 reads like you're stopping to take a breath in between every second of your presentation.
#2 reads like a pause to slap a 5-meter-thick pile of files onto the table.
I forgot my AirPod died and this blasted at full volume 😭💔

text: [ “Some of you have forgotten that only three years ago you were perfectly capable of writing an essay, writing a eulogy, telling a bedtime story to a child, and it should worry you that powerful companies have convinced us we can’t do things we’ve been doing for 5000 years.” ]
Don’t forget to look back sometimes
you have permission to pick that 2 year old "abandoned" project back up. it's not mad at you for setting it aside. and maybe time and distance have helped ease or erase the things that made you put it down in the first place.
i actually never ever want AO3 to be censored bc nothing is more fun than reading the tags on a fic and going “huh. didn’t know there was a market for that.”
squinting at a tag and trying to decide how badly I want to learn a new word
having memory issues while also being mutuals with several people who like to change their url & pfp on the regular is really funny bc its like. ok i dont recognize you but you Smell Familiar so i guess you can come in.
Btw, this came up on Bluesky, and it feels weird not to share on my home turf.
The source of the current, popular "shadow hands on chest" trend is a photo published by Marina Choy in 2017.
Unless there is undisclosed inspiration from an older piece, but as far as one can tell, this is the source of the trend.
It can be found on Instagram (logged-in users only):
6,455 likes, 326 comments - marinachoyy on July 14, 2017: "Love her, but leave her wild @atticuspoetry".
or on Marina Choy's website:
And do note that while Know Your Meme can be helpful sometimes, in this instance, its page on the trend contains wrong information. It claims that a painting from 2021 is the source and that Marina Choy's photo is a recreation of the painting... except the photo is from 2017, and it's pretty obvious that the painting was directly referencing it.
Please remember to credit the original. Photography is also an art (it's so obvious in this instance!), and both photographers and models deserve the praise. A lot of artists who would otherwise know to credit other artists forget to when a trend is popular enough. When something reaches meme status, the original creator reasonably can't be directly-mentioned for every recreation, but a username credit goes a very long way. (Just yesterday I was looking for the source for a very artsy photo for someone who really liked it, and despite my years of experience looking for sources, I was unable to find a single track to follow.)
Ashley Williams' appearance in ME3 is a crime.
I didn't recognize her the first time I saw her.
What happened to my no nonsense soldier from ME1?
Heels. Hair in her face. A uniform designed to look like a skirt. (Does it limit her movement?)
This is not Ashley 'letting her hair down'. This is Ashley trying to get herself killed while looking fashionable.
Gaaah.
