#Awesome tip on a great way to use your #silpat. #Reposting Thank you @davidlebovitz and #FouquetChocolateLabratory #Paris. You're brilliant! #chocolate #candy #candymaker #chef #kitchen #kitchentips #food #sweets #DoWhatYouLove #KnowledgeIsPower #DIY #artisan
Fattoush is a great #salad that comes together easily and uses the best in-#season ingredients like cucumbers, tomatoes and radishes. You can use whatever #bread you have on hand, but I usually have some of my Super Seedy Loaf already made and in the freezer that I like to add to this. It packs this dish with extra #flavour and a huge hit of #nourishment. An awesome #substitute for any bread. And you got me thinking.... I'd absolutely make this next time with some cooked #lentils tossed in. Thanks for the brilliant idea #gastropost #fundelentil Here's the #recipe for my loaf. Catching up to my #100DayProject #100DaysOfHaikuByVoulaHalliday #100DaysOfArt @greatdiscontent I turned each missed #haiku in the project cycle into a #poem--each "stanza"is a haiku. I began where I last left off in the project. Here are haikus 34 to 44 in a poem I titled LOST. I think I'm almost caught up... Today the project is on day 47, so a few more to go. @amsuka Thank goodness you are on top of it. You are marking time for me when I wander into my days and become list from this.
#Haiku 33 1/3 of the way through #TheGreatDiscontent #100dayproject #100DaysOfHaikuByVoulaHalliday I like this #journey! #Art by me #VoulaHalliday My #brain is fizzing and sizzling with #joy and #love. #Passion #DoWhatYouLove

#Haiku 32 #100DaysOfHaikuByVoulaHalliday #100dayproject #TheGreatDiscontent #100DaysOfArt Today to determine the the of my haiku I counted entries from the beginning of my #Larousse #Gastronomique. Number 32 is #agnolotti -- typical of the region of #Italy, that I adore, #Piemont. I'm imagining it right now, in my mouth, the #terroir of the region expressed in the meaty stuffing and the butter. Heavenly. Sprinkled with just a light dusting of cheese. This is #dinner.
My brother's latest #book is available for pre-order on #Amazon.ca Fascinating collection of #Canadian #History by #historian and #AwardWinning #author Dimitry Anastakis. So proud of you little brother!
#Haiku 31 #100DaysOfHaikuByVoulaHalliday #100dayproject #100DaysOfArt #TheGreatDiscontent This painting, one of 3, by #JacksonPollock is called Number 31, 1950 Image from @themuseumofmodernart http://www.moma.org/learn/moma_learning/jackson-pollock-one-number-31-1950-1950 "This is one of three wall-size #paintings that #Pollock made in the summer and autumn of 1950. He began by laying canvas on the floor and pouring, dribbling, and flicking enamel paint onto the surface, sometimes straight from the can or with sticks and stiffened brushes. He put holes in the bottom of #paint cans, squeezed paint from a tube, and even used a turkey baster or stiff brush. The density of interlacing liquid threads of paint is balanced and offset by puddles of muted #colors and by allover spattering. The pictorial result of this tension is a landmark in the history of #Abstract #Expressionism. Pollock described his process, stating: “My painting does not come from the easel … I prefer to tack the unstretched canvas to the hard wall or floor. … On the floor, I am more at ease. I feel nearer, more a part of the painting, since this way I can walk around it, work from the four sides and literally be in the painting. I prefer sticks, trowels, knives, and dripping fluid paint. … When I am in my painting, I’m not aware of what I’m doing. It is only when I lose contact with the painting that the result is a mess. Otherwise there is pure #harmony, an easy give and take, and the painting comes out well.”
#Haiku 30 of #100DaysOfHaikuByVoulaHalliday #100dayproject #100DaysOfArt #TheGreatDiscontent I'm looking at this, facing him in this moment, and I'm thinking about #time. How it goes by. How it is fulfilled. Or left unfulfilled and saved for another time. How it flows. How it's broken into segments. How it can be easily disrupted. And interrupted. And corrupted. How time influences a time gone by. How time changes a time that is no longer there for us. How moments and time are captured by #memory. Or by #taste. How time becomes a sensation. Or a touch that leaves a timeless #imprint. Or how time is defined by something that remains achingly incomplete. This #photo of #RobertDeNiro is making my head pop. I love it. I need to give credit to the #artist. Does anyone know who is the #photographer? I'll edit my post ASAP!

#Haiku 25 #100DaysOfHaikuByVoulaHalliday #100dayproject #100DaysOfArt 3rd line CORRECTION: Still awaits the storm. (Oops!) 25 years ago thrives dressed in police uniforms robbed the Isabella Stewart Gardner #Museum in #Boston of 13 works. One of these works, where the frame remains today, was Rembrandt's The Storm on the Sea of Galilee. Look the painting up. It's really powerful--full of motion. This is considered one of the worlds greatest #art heists. 25 years later and still unsolved. Photo from www.npr.org Josh Reynolds/AP March 18, 2015. #TheGreatDiscontent
