@vriskavevo
our idiotic ancestors used to believe stuff that's not true but luckily we've now figured out all the true things to believe in
he’s like a friend i worry about
women's thighs. you agree. reblog.
my pronouns are she/her bc I'll never be him (anthony head playing on his pink ds in full costume on the set of merlin)
RIP King
Look, I get what you're saying, but sometimes you've gotta reach for the low-hanging fruit. Let's get you a proper meal, refill your meds, and unfuck your living space as best we're able; if after that you still want cute girls to kill you with axes, you'll be in a much better physical and mental place to pursue that goal.
Maybe film would be better if everyone who wants to become a director were expected to first produce a silent film. Without intertitles. A film where the only tool they have is the moving picture.
Maybe then they'd learn to make films where WE CAN SEE.
It's not that I don't appreciate a bit of chiaroscuro, but there has to be enough chiar to o the scur.
love watching pre, idk, 2000 movies where there is "night lighting" that tells you it is dark but the director has paid lighting engineers enough that you can also clearly see everything
This is an actual, unedited photo of what the full moon looks like in a dark sky area.
It was taken on an iPhone SE.
The only concession I made was increasing the exposure time, because iPhone cameras aren't as bad as people say but that doesn't mean they're great.
If your scene is modern, find an emergency light somewhere to highlight things.
If your scene is not modern, THIS IS WHAT IT SHOULD ACTUALLY LOOK LIKE. NOTE THAT EVERYTHING IS IN SILHOUETTE BECAUSE I WAS SHOOTING TOWARD THE LIGHT SOURCE. Facing the other direction, you could actually see the colors on stuff.
Stop using "realism" as an excuse to underpay your crew.
i'm never getting picked up and no one lets me sit on their lap
Actually, my therapist has told me this is a healthy way of processing things. Because you can get the trauma out of your head And you can write the ending you wish it had. The trusted person rescue, the catharsis of getting to kill the one who hurt you.
It's good for your brain. It's healthier than bottling it up. Fiction is where we go for emotional release. That can be true with trauma too.
so what you're saying is
character: NO
therapist: YES
Adding @dear-massacre's tags because they are so true:
#this is why it's important to remember that fictional characters are fake #they have no agency. they're made up #it hurts no one to make any character go through the horrors #it is healthy and cathartic
yeah okay ill reblog that
