So, unfortunately, the What If fanfic (yes, again) will be cancelled for very personal reasons. I am so sorry for those who gave me permission for their OCs usage and for the outcome. As for my surgery, it went well! I've been healing fast, and hopefully by September I'm all good.

If you want to know the reason, I don't mind if you reach out to ask me at all. Just know that it might be a bizarre reason for some but not for me.

I've been giving thought to how Otto's harness could be removed for no reason at all, but researching about it made it so much more clearer for me to understand.

The top image shows a picture of how Otto's AI chip had burned into his lamina and “roof of the column”, causing it to fuse to his body.

It really stuck into him, probably why his mood had changed so much. NWH actually confirms it when Peter says that the chip was supposed to protect him from the tentacles and instead made him vulnerable to them.

Now, to remove something like this, the closest think doctors could suggest (probably, I'm not a professional) is a laminectomy to remove those fragments of the chip given that this spot is the spot that is affecting Otto the most.

And not only that, but he'd need to drink antibiotics to kill any infection or bacteria he might have.

This man was exposed to radiation and water at the same time, and if I'm correct, you can see how the tentacles malfunction when he's in the water.

Water and metal don't get along. It caused corrosion, it causes the metal to be damaged, filled with God knows what.

And don't even get me started with the harness itself...

EXTRA:

I find it very endearing that Norman (not the goblin) was kind of helping Peter with Otto's chip. We don't know what was his reason, but he still did.
