These past few weeks have been interesting, to say the least. And I have multiple announcements to make relating to the fanfic in AO3 I had posted several months ago, which I promised I was going to finish, and I will, but before I finish, I need to make things very clear;
1. There will be a review of all the variants given to me.
As much as it pains me to do this, I will have all the variants given to me checked very carefully. If they do not fit in the story the way they're supposed to fit, I will unfortunately have to take him, her, or them, out of the fic. No, it's not because of the quality of the story or fan art made of them, because most of the variants that are going to stay don't have a developed story. It is not in my plans to fit the character in if it's not going to do anything, and I say this in the most respectful way possible. So far, the variants I have will surely stay, but there will be small changes in what they do or help with within the fanfic.
My Ao3 account is not safe anymore, so unfortunately, the fic will be written either here or in Wattpad. No, my account wasn't hacked, neither is it being held back by Ao3, but it's being watched by someone in my IRL life, someone who I trusted and used that trust wrongly.
3. The story has been changed.
At first, the story would speak about Otto Octavius and the way he was trying to get rid of the canon events, but now, it has been changed to a more complex idea where the protagonist will also be the antagonist, in a way. However, none of the following will be added and will be strictly prohibited within the fanfic;
A) Senseless violence (unreasonable abuse); if there's no reason for the violence, it will no be accepted.
B) No racism, sexism, homophobia, etc; if your character/variant, I hope not, has one of these traits, I will respectfully tell you that it'll not be accepted within the fic.
C) Unfinished variants will be given an ultimatum; this one is mostly for the new ones, which I doubt there are, but it applies for the ones given. So far the variants given have been absolutely gorgeous, their stories and structures, but if you want to change or changed something in their story, please let me know, otherwise I'll think they're already done.
4. The fic will be posted by chapters.
I don't know how long the fic will be. Although I have the story, I want everyone to have a chance to be able to see their variant or favorite variants in the fic while still maintaining the structure on how the story is supposed to go. The chapters will also be divided one by one, but within that chapter there might be a sub-chapter or quick story, perhaps background.
I am so sorry it had to be like this, and I understand that what I am asking is not something most of the people like or are willing to do, and I will not give any excuse to defend these decisions because I will not use my personal life or health issues to excuse it, and I also understand if the creators of the variants given no longer want to let me work with them on the fic. 🤍
