The price of courage
We live in a world where doing something courageous comes with a cost. Before I say anything more I want to say that I am a fan of 5sos. What I am going to say is not only because I am a fan but because I believe in courageousness and respect. Last night (Aug. 19) 5 seconds of summer had a show in Detroit. During the show Michael Clifford shared that he had been “fixing some mental health issues” and had been seeing a therapist on the recent break they had. I just want to remind y’all that 5sos is an internationally famous band. Michael Clifford gathered enough courage and strength to share with 10,000 + people that he was going through a rough patch. Finding this out this morning hurt my heart. But what I found soon after made me want to throw up. As I was going through twitter I came across people (who weren’t fans of 5sos) who had started a hashtag: #MichaelCliffordMolestsHisFans. In that moment I was so angry and shocked that I had to put my phone down and take deep breaths. For people to think that saying something like that after michael had said he had been dealing with a lot lately is okay or funny is fucking bullshit. You don’t like 5sos, fine. I don’t care that’s up to you, but it is not fucking okay to say things like that especially to someone who may be mentally unstable. To those of you who have been spreading this hashtag 1. FUCK OFF 2. You have no right to say something like this to anyone 3. I know who you are. I’ve seen you’re twitters and the nasty ass things you’ve been saying and if I ever EVER find/see you all hell will break loose.
To those in the 5sosfam, we all love Michael Clifford with all our hearts. Let’s show him just how much we love him. Keep #WeLoveYouMichael trending and if you see any hate towards Mikey out there say something. Write a rant about it and post it, tweet michael and tell him how much he is loved, anything to protect and keep Michael happy. We all know that Mikey and the rest of the boys have saved so many lives. Now its our turn to show Mikey that we will support him forever and always.
