This is what the Deku and Kirishima one is based off of
I got an ask about how I create my sigils and I figured I would update the post on how I make them! So I’ll break down the steps of my process.
Starting With A Solid Phrase
In my practice, I like to make my phrases as blunt and simplified as possible for the concept I’m capturing. I also don’t use negatives like “don’t” or “not” and I use present tense rather than future tense. This means “I’m not anxious” and “I will be calm” becomes “I am calm”. I feel like this prevents a lot of unintended effects happening and prevents the sigil from backfiring.
I also start with the simplest concept possible so I can build off the sigils I make to make more complex symbols for more complex concepts. But I’ll revisit this idea later!
Brainstorming and Meditating
Once I have the phrase, I sit quietly and brainstorm all the personal associations and corespondences I have with the phrase I’m trying to capture.
For example “I am calm” I think of the moon, nature, flowers, being surrounded by something protective, a center/being centered. Sometimes I’ll jot these down on paper, but mostly I just keep these associations in mind.
If it’s a request, I also take into account any initials, nicknames, astrological signs, emojis, etc. given so I can get a feel for their energy and make it more personalized.
I’ll then meditate on these to form a symbol in my mind and then try and capture that on paper. All my sigils are made purely by intuition.
Drafting
This is when I start actually drawing out the sigil! I go off what I visualized in my head.
How long this takes varies wildly. Sometimes I’m happy with the sigil in 5 mins after the first draft, other times its the 20th draft and several days later when it finally comes to me but I don’t stop playing with the design until my intuition tells me it’s finished!
Often when I’m stuck, I take a step back and come back to it later. This can be a few hours to a day or two. I really do put enormous effort into my designs until they feel just right to me.
Combining Phrases and Symbols
As I mentioned earlier, I start with the simplest concepts and a lot of the time I get requests with multiple parts. For example, I made “I am creative” and “I am motivated” in order to create “I am creative and motivated”
Here you can see the elements I took from each sigil to make a whole new symbol. I also borrow elements from sigils that may share similar correspondences, such as all my sigils that do with the sun. “Only light enters here” “I am filled with the sun’s light” and “Sun’s blessing” all have shared elements.
I also look back on older symbols, sigils, and drafts if I get get stuck on a design to get new inspiration.
I personally have gotten great results from combining sigils to form more complex intentions and using that single sigil rather than casting multiple sigils.
Putting It All Together
When I upload my final post, I also spend quite a bit of time searching for a background image or color that fits the correspondence of the sigil. I go about this in a similar way I brainstorm for the sigil themselves.
To charge and cast the sigils I created I most commonly draw them and set them under a candle, meditate and charge with intent then burn them. Otherwise, I draw them on my window with wax or water, let the sun or moon charge them, and either buff it out or let the water evaporate.
Hope this helps and happy crafting! 💕
Im disturbed with the lack of fatgum art so-
TBH, collecting pretty rocks and stuff is both something which I would do and something which would impress me

“You’e weak! And I’ve outgrown you.”
My brother called me yesterday with a stunning revelation he’d had about this scene: intentional or not, this is a perfect commentary on the superhero genre of today, and about one of its greatest weaknesses.
He’s calling Mr. Incredible weak here because the man refused to do one thing—and that was to kill someone. And because he sees him as being unable to kill, he sees him as weak—and childish. “I’ve outgrown you.” Now he is in the realm of “mature” superheroes, where Superman has to snap a man’s neck and Catwoman has to shoot Bane, where the purity of a woman forged by clay is unrelatable and marriage is nonconducive to an interesting story. His is a world where superheroes die to make villains seem impressive, a world where a dark and gritty realism is more important than a fun and adventurous fantasy.
In the end of this movie, though, the Omnidroid isn’t beaten by Mr. Incredible finding Syndrome and beating an explanation out of him to stop the robot; they solve it through brainwork, audacity, and a fun and creative action sequence. Syndrome dies in the end, yes, but that’s primarily because he keeps trying to push his view, and ends up destroying himself.
But this is Syndrome being Zack Snyder or Frank Miller, and believing that the fun adventures of yesteryear are childish fantasies that need to be left behind: ours is a world where to relate to a superhero, we have to see that superhero be unable to accomplish his task completely, where he has to settle and accept a compromise in order to preserve the greater good. We can’t admire them for being able to do what we cannot—we have to grow up and see that they’re just like us, they’re nothing special. Not really. And that is what true maturity is. A truly mature Avatar would kill the Firelord, a truly mature Superman would have no choice but to fight in the middle of a city, and video games need to be about cover-based shooting and military combat in the real world. With quick-time-events!
And of course, that’s all complete bullcrap, and the sooner that mentality gets sucked into a jet engine, the happier I’ll be.
Yes, YES, absolutely. I love the philosophy behind this movie in celebrating the light, warm, wholesome side of superheroism.
And I love how well Syndrome represents basically ‘toxic nerd culture’. When he can’t see superheroes as people he relates to any more, he regresses and sees them as playthings instead. He acts like these real people are action figures for him to do with as he pleases, as visually demonstrated by the scenes where he holds people in zero-point stasis and moves them about, frozen in stationary action poses.
He refuses to accept any perspective but his own. He talks about the superheroes like they’re comic book characters to him - like when he finds out Mr Incredible and Elastigirl got married, or in the interrogation scenes where he seems to be critiquing the ‘new’ Mr Incredible and berating him for having let him down. He talks about it like it’s a character reboot he doesn’t agree with. Plus his whole mantra of providing (selling) superpowers to everybody, so nobody will be ‘special’ any more, entirely designed to take away the specialness of what he coveted and couldn’t have, just as many guys entrenched in nerd culture refuse to let anyone else share it and act like it’s a secret club only for them.
Syndrome represents arrested fanboy development in which he refused to grow up. He carries this resentment from childhood all because his favourite hero actually had other things to do with his life than to cater to him. Mature people have responsibilities, actual jobs, they age and have families of their own, that’s what mature means and it’s what Mr and Mrs Incredible stand for, and everything that Syndrome echews in favour of being somebody’s ‘arch-nemesis’. He still thinks that maturity is dark, brooding, sexy (I mean the person he picked as the front for his scheme, not him), and about how much collateral damage you can cause. But he’s just a manchild living out a comic book dream, creating his own fictional life story (his robot is designed to be impervious to superpowers and stage a disaster that only he can defuse, thus saving the day - the whole thing is playing pretend and endangering thousands of people’s lives). Kids like to play at being heroes and stopping disasters, but because he refused to grow out of any of this, he acquired the means to do it for real and became a murderer in the process. All because he couldn’t accept that he was, essentially, wrong. By refusing to believe that his childlike hero-worship was over the top, he buckled down into it and continued to play pretend as a child would. Another aspect of maturity is natural change and Syndrome rejects it just as Mr Incredible and all the other supers accepted their reprimand (by having to go undercover and live as normal people) and adapted to it even though they didn’t want to.
My favourite line in the whole film is when Bob threatens him and Syndrome shrugs it off saying, “Nah, that’s a little dark for you,” because he’s all at once criticising Mr Incredible’s ‘character’, evaluating a real person in front of him as though he has him pegged on a morality chart, and you know he could back it up with some creepy nerd facts like “In 1964 you said the same thing to Lord Heatwave and you were totally bluffing”, as though Bob is predictable, unchanging, completely fictional to him, AND he’s being dismissive of Bob’s personal life, he thinks Mr Incredible’s gone soft, weak, become a family man, because he thinks his former hero needs to be cool and gritty and running away from explosions, not an actual person with depth and goals and feelings - which is, of course, why we as an audience like Mr Incredible and his whole family, thereby proving Syndrome and the Dark Gritty Reboot culture wrong simply by having watched and enjoyed the movie they were in.
Mary:
A truly mature Avatar would kill the Firelord, a truly mature Superman would have no choice but to fight in the middle of a city, and video games need to be about cover-based shooting and military combat in the real world.
This shit is why it pisses me off that fandom gets so mad that Aang didn’t kill Ozai. This post right here.
“let women get plastic surgery!” is such a cold take like please think critically for once and stop trying to turn it into an empowerment movement for women. growing up arab, i have several cousins who were pressured into getting a nose job since it’s so normalized in my culture and i’m constantly shamed by my family members for not considering it. it’s hurtful and awful especially now with facetune and snapchat filters making your nose look more narrow
i didn’t realize this morning rant gathered some notes until now so i’ll add on to this. plastic surgery companies capitalize on the insecurities of women of color and it’s based on racist beauty standards it should never be glorified
people in activist movements are constantly getting these concepts confused. “let’s not jugde a person for doing this” is not the same as “this is empowering”
Spring 2019 Anime Worth Watching
Feeling buried under all the new anime content season after season? Well the new spring anime season is upon us, so here’s some stuff worth watching if you’re lost in the sea of shows. Also in case you were sleeping last season, here’s some Winter 2019 Anime You Should Watch too!
I’m not going to pretend this season is as wildly amazing as winter, but that doesn’t mean everything is garbage.
New Shows!
Carole and Tuesday: A sci-fi anime that tells the story of a pampered rich girl named Tuesday who runs away to the big city to pursue her love of music and starts a band with a streetwise girl named Carole. Aka, the music lesbian one directed by the Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo guy. IF YOU ONLY WATCH ONE NEW SHOW THIS SEASON, MAKE IT THIS ONE! It by far has the most amazing visuals, easy to connect with story, and obviously the best music…and this is after just one episode. It’s one of those shows you can tell will be memorable from the first five minutes!
Hitoribocchi: A startlingly accurate high school comedy, in which a girl with extreme anxiety must learn to make friends at her new middle school in order to get her one friend from elementary school to talk to her again. It is sweet, hilarious, and very on the nose considering pretty much everyone who watches anime has been this type of person at some point.
Fruits Basket 2019: In case you hadn’t become anime trash yet in 2001: after the death of her mother, stereotypical protagonist Tooru Honda starts living in a tent in the woods…only to be taken in by the mysterious Sohma family…who can turn into animals from the zodiac when they’re hugged by a member of the opposite sex. It’s the remake of the 2001 anime that basically introduced an entire generation to the concept of shoujo. In an age of revamping every property from your childhood to hit you with a nostalgia bomb, this one is pretty well deserved…because this time they’re going to follow the manga! Tooru’s a little less annoyingly air headed this time, and it’s as beautifully animated as you’d expect!
Demon Slayer Kimetsu no Yaiba: A shounen anime following a young boy and his sister who is possessed by a demon, who must find a way to turn her back to normal after their entire family is slaughtered. It’s pretty basic so far, but there is a lot of potential. Apparently the manga is very hyped up, and it’s easy to get invested in the characters’ safety. And it’s made by Ufotable so…at least it will look interesting.
Kono Oto-tomare! (Stop this Sound!): After his senpais graduate, Takezou Kurata becomes the only member of his high school Koto club, and the only other member who wants to join is a delinquent who annoys the hell out of him. What’s Koto you ask? It’s a traditional Japanese stringed instrument that no one really cares about of course! It’s a standard high school comedy/drama where the animation budget has been spent on shots of the characters picking the Koto strings. But it’s still fun and sweet with a focus on an instrument I know nothing about…and don’t try and convince me the two main characters aren’t into each other.
Mayonaka no Occult Koumuin (Midnight Occult Civil Servants): A comedy/detective show about a government branch that works out the disputes of various supernatural creatures. So far, it runs in the same vein as The Morose Mononokean, but it’s a little early to tell how seriously it will take itself. If nothing else, watch it for the adorable size difference between an enormous angel and an Edward Elric sized Tengu who are in a forbidden relationship. I don’t know if they’ll come back, but I’m into the world the show has created.
RobiHachi: A sci-fi buddy comedy about a laughably hopeless loser who blasts into space while running away from debt collectors. Little did he know, he accidentally brought one of the collectors with him, and now the two must embark on a journey to the perfect city of Isekandar…which is most likely just a well advertised tourist trap. Also the ship turns into a giant robot. It’s a fun, if a bit ridiculous, romp that is extremely reminiscent of Space Dandy. It is all a technicolor mess of “what the hell is going on?”… but in a fun way! And speaking of technicolor messes that make you question your sanity…
Sarazanmai: I don’t even know what the plot of this one is. It has the gay cops you’ve probably seen around the internet…and also kappas that go up people’s butts to get some sort of “desire organ”…? It basically feels like a really outrageous magical boy show where the main characters transform into kappas to… fight evil kappas and make people reveal secrets before they regain their human forms I guess. Yeah it’s a wild ride, and it’s definitely not for everyone. But it has some of the best animation this season, and I encourage people to give it a chance, even if it’s just to understand why the internet is screaming about it.
Second Seasons and Continuations
Dororo: I mentioned this in my winter anime post, and I’m talking about it again because it’s getting 24 episodes, and EVERYONE NEEDS TO WATCH IT! So in case you missed it the first time, it’s a dark and surprisingly feelsy remake of the original 1969 manga about a warrior whose limbs and organs were traded to demons when he was a baby. So in typical anime fashion he must travel across the country killing demons to get his limbs back with the help of a lovable scamp named Dororo. There is lots of action, family drama, humor, and a very compelling story about good and evil. The main character doesn’t even speak until almost halfway through the anime, and he was still the most interesting main character of the winter season. It’s an early contender for anime of the year, so PLEASE DON’T SLEEP ON IT!
The Rising of the Shield Hero: Another leftover from the winter season, it’s…an isekai…wait, wait, I PROMISE IT’S WORTH WATCHING…about a hero who is framed for a crime and must walk the line between redemption and revenge while still doing his job as a hero and saving people who have scorned him. Also the other heroes who are supposed to be saving the world…kind of fuck everything up all the time, and he has to fix everything. Apparently there’s a controversy around the show because of the first episode and the crime he is framed for. All I have to say is…just watch the show past the first episode, and make your own decision. It’s a fun action/adventure story that keeps you interested all the way through.
Bungo Stray Dogs season 3: An action/drama detective anime about a mysterious organization filled with superhuman detectives who protect the city from all sorts of threats. Think Kekkai Sensen but in Japan. Okay, confession time: the first two seasons were good, with amazing animation and likable characters…but I remember almost nothing about the actual plot, so I probably won’t watch this right away. But it’s definitely worth mentioning because of the massive fandom and love everyone has for this show.
Ace of Diamond act 2: It’s the shounen baseball anime! I really don’t know how to else do describe it. I love sports anime, but this one can fall into the trap of making small things drag on forever. Still, I love this team and I want to see them succeed!
One Punch Man season 2: The long awaited second season of One Punch Man! The story of a man who’s a hero for fun and can defeat any foe with a single punch. I know we’re all upset that it switched from Madhouse to J.C Staff, and while yes that means the action isn’t as amazing, the rest of the time it just looks…different…not bad. I think if we go too hard on the studio change, it makes it seem like there was nothing special about OPM besides its animation. Can we just give it to Bones next season? They seem to know what they’re doing with Mob Psycho 100.
And we’re still waiting on Attack on Titan season 3 part 2, but hopefully it will be as well animated as usual and make sense of the jumbled mess the manga became.
Also I know this came out last season, but I would like to formally apologize for not including in my winter list…
The Promised Neverland: A horror/thriller anime focusing on the children of Grace Field House, an orphanage where everyone is a happy family and there are definitely no deep dark terrible secrets about what happens to the children who leave the house at all…right? It’s the one where characters have tiny mouths. This is my other contender for anime of the year because holy shit this was amazing. Like…I had to go read the manga immediately after finishing it amazing. If you haven’t given it a try or didn’t watch it because the characters just look so stupid…don’t make the same mistake I did and cast it aside. Also it just started airing in English on Toonami, so why not include it with this season!? It’s just that good!
See you next season!

Okay so first of all
And second of all-
Captain America is anti-war and vocal about it and he’s The Bane of the US military’s existence but they can’t fuckin DO anything bc…. he’s the poster boy of America I mean what are they gonna say?? They MADE this irritating asshole
From the Northern Territory Parks and Wildlife page on Facebook, based in Australia…
The three-eyed snake warns The Dry is coming!
Our Rangers found a three-eyed snake on the Arnhem Highway near Humpty Doo just out of Darwin. It was a juvenile, approximately 40cm long.
The snake is peculiar as an x-ray revealed it was not two separate heads forged together, rather it appeared to be one skull with an additional eye socket and three functioning eyes.
It was generally agreed that the eye likely developed very early during the embryonic stage of development. It is extremely unlikely that this is from environmental factors and is almost certainly a natural occurrence as malformed reptiles are relatively common.
Can y'all fuckin not?? These were a fraction of what was under Muriel’s new teaser image on the Dev’s twitter.
1. Muriel already had a part of his route out, of course they were going to continue it
2. There’s no way the devs can continue working on three routes at the same time- the game has much less traction now that three of the primary routes are finished (and forcing a Lucio route is not going to gain that traction back)
4. They have heavily implied that Lucio’s route will be last
5. This is just really disrespectful to the work that they’re doing and the people who enjoy it. You need to remember that they’re a small business and they are not going to cater to your needs directly. Assuming that’s what they’re there for is selfish and disregards all the work it takes to make this game possible.
I get it, you want Lucio’s route. Commenting under a different character’s teaser and whining about wanting it now is not going to make it happen. Just wait patiently, please.
