Honestly, if you only play a roller in Splatoon, its cause you're an average or bad player who scared to test themself in anyway, but you still want to win and feel like a valuable member of the team.

So it seems like the vast majority of moviebob and Andrew Dobson hate originates from right wingers who dredge up old unsavory or iffy content from their pasts, which they obviously matured past and have grown up from, in order to discredit or villianize them as "bad liberals" because they don't like what they have to say.

This just in: Right wingers being disingenuous in their criticism just to justify their hate or astroturf their views as more acceptable.

Hitscan DPS in overwatch are terrible right now because a series of nerfs and the newest heroes have progressively made them obsolete.

Yo, here's an unpopular opinion: Hitscan DPS should by default be a little better than all other DPS, because they require substantially more investment and talent than other DPS for whom control is a bigger priority or aim is less essential to be effective.

If someone of a low skill level played both Mcree and Junkrat, that player would have more meaningful impact on the game with junkrat since the junker's skill floor (the lowest level of effectiveness a hero's kit provides to any player doing the bare minimum of engaged play) is higher than Mcree's. Junkrat requires some engagement and some aim to be effective, but does not require nearly the amount of precision other hitscan DPS require.

If the world was perfect, the higher level of skill would allow Mcree to start outclassing Junkrat, since the investment and talent would be recognized and rewarded.

However, this is not the case. As it stands currently, Mcree and other hitscan DPS at their highest level of play can be just as good as Junkrat and other similar DPS at lower levels of skill. This is a cost-benefit problem, that I can best summarize like this:

Why would I put all this time and effort into (hitscan DPS) just to compete if I could put the same into (other DPS) and do better?

The answer is you won't. Prospects that provide the same outcome for significantly more work than an alternative lose to that alternative in economic game theory. So the only option is to adapt if you don't mind those other heroes, or for many people in the community, just quit.

Your time invested into hitscan DPS is not being respected, recognized, of rewarded. So, go play something that does that, whether it be another hero or another game.

I like how salty Moira and Brigette mains get about when their overpowered healers are criticized as overpowered. Like those heroes are in anyway comparable to the previous healers.

Sure, Moira and Brigette have enough survivability and ability to avoid damage to go toe to toe with a good portion of the DPS, but "support is a thankless job!" Sure, both these heroes are key to the dominant meta at all levels of play, where Flankers and Hitscan DPS are made useless with all the blocking and healing and evading going around, but "they needed mercy into the ground!" Sure, both are incredibly unfun to play against, to the point where several people are now following through in their threats of leaving the game, but "why are you picking on healers?!"

It's so funny how they think the experience of playing as or against Moira and Brigette is in any way comparable to playing the other healers. Cause that was a hard, thankless job. You weren't invulnerable, you were constantly targeted, and you often barely got by. But you could outplay and rely on a team to protect you. Healing was rewarding, since you were essential and fragile.

But for Moira and Brigette, they don't even have to care. As well as mercy after her first rework. Because the healers before that had good reason to be salty, since they needed a good team to be effective and were often unappreciated for their work.

Moira and Brigette mains thinking they are in anyway justified is hilarious. Those heroes actively ruined the game for me, as a former healer main.

Y'all need to stop pretending DPS mains are some whinging assholes, wanting to make every healer bad. Y'all need to realize that those healers are bad for the game.

I realized that Splatoon 2’s Octo Expansion is not for me and it’s bumming me out.

Alright, let me preface this by saying that if you enjoy Splatoon 2’s new Octo expansion, that’s fine. I’m glad you get something to enjoy. But for me, it honestly feels like a waste of $20.

Here’s the deal: I know that I’m only average at games. I can play them competently, but it requires a huge investment of time and effort on my part if I want to become “good” at it. And as I’ve grown up, I’ve realized that I only want to do that if I particularly like the main gameplay loop. For instance, Destiny and For Honor do this for me, where the main gameplay loop is inherently interesting and satisfying to me, so I put more into becoming better.

Splatoon 2, however, isn’t. It’s not bad, not in the slightest. But, tbh, it’s just functional. Its serviceable. Because it’s everything else about Splatoon 2 that I really like (art style, characters, customization, etc.). But the third person shooting and platforming, while unique in some aspects, isn’t inherently rewarding for me. Partly cause 3rd person shooting isn’t that great. And partly because it’s other changes aren’t what sold me. It’s not it core appeal to me.

So, when I get to the octo expansion and realize that it’s. “Hey! Y'know that gameplay that you’re not hot on? And you know the customization that you love? Well, how about we hide another possible customization option behind 80 levels of exceptionally hard gameplay that you will hate and not feel rewarded by?”

It just makes me feel deflated, cause I’m missing out on content, but not enough to intentionally frustrate myself for not that big of pay off.

So, I checked out. I’ll just go back to multiplayer and maybe convince a friend to beat it for me. Have fun guys.

Sitting down for hours just to fail enough so I can echnically beat the expansion seems a soul-sucking experience. I might as play something that I enjoy more and/or am better at..

Piano or acoustic covers of dance/pop songs that feature distinctly sad or somber lyrics, like "Dancing on my own" or "Hey Ya," are a scourge that must be eradicated.

Just because you did the obvious thing of putting overdone, overused "Sad" and "Deep" instrumentation to those songs doesn't mean they are better. You robbed all the energy of the song so that you could lazily bring focus to the lyrics.

People who find this approach appealing are intensely shallow listeners, either because they are fooled by trite, cliche instrumentation or are too pretentious to enjoy a pop song, but are too shallow to critically enjoy music.

All counter arguments are invalid, and there ain't nothing you can do bout it.

I actually got hyped when I saw Cayde-6 get shot.

Here are my reasons why:

1. I've been dying for more compelling storytelling in Destiny for years, especially Destiny 2.

The campaign starts strong, but kinda peters out until right at the end. Curse of Osiris was flooded with restating existing lore and bland as fuck plot. Warmind was way better, with better characters, but its shortness really hurt my ability to invest in it.

The potential story Forsaken provides excites me in a way that I haven't felt since the end of Rise of Iron.

2. Cayde's comedy was kinda overbearing in Destiny 2, where it no longer was a cool personality quirk, but a sole defining characteristic. He became an incredibly bland joke character.

3. It shows a possible correction in terms of writing, where the lightheartedness is not as overbearing as it is in Destiny 2.

Now, I'm not saying grimdark is what the series needs again, since pure darkness does not make the games better. But enhancing it while downplaying the worst of the comedic elements will bring back the healthy balance D1 had in regards to tone. Where the comedy served to bring in a bit of optimism into the darkness, making both stand out.

4. Cayde isn't even my favorite character. Ikora is.

Y'all just need to relax a bit about the decision to kill Cayde. It's only a bad decision if it's not meaningfully explored on an emotional or storytelling level, or they make it inconsequential. That's a reasonable fear.

But dropping cause cayde died, and he's your husbando? Just chill out for a sec.

Like, I've never done any of the relationships in Stardew Valley. Not because I don't like any of them (because I do), but because the way it does it puts my social anxiety on steroids.

Like it's too intuitive and not gamified for it to be easily minmaxed (unless you literally pull up a guide).

But it's also not intuitive enough for me to just talk like I do to my friends.

I'm in this double bond where I'm like "I know there's a right answer, but it's too complicated to easily game the system, but lacks other interpersonal information that allows me to read a situation. So I don't want to talk?"

I interact with real people better than these pixels and pieces of code.

It sucks that I spent so much time getting good with them, utilizing my years of experience with shooters and attempting to get better at games only for it to be wasted. It sucks that hardhitting projectiles and tanky supports can just shut my shit down without nearly as much investment.

Good for them. They taught me that I shouldn’t be investing so much in this bad game. I’ll hope they get everything they want.
