So first of all I've been lying to you. It's just porridge. Gruel is sloppier. But regardless

Step 1:

You need a 1:2 ratio of oats to water. I like to use about half a cup of oats and one cup of water but you can change the ratio if you want it's #notmygruel

Step 2:

Place in pot and put on medium/low heat

Step 3:

Add a sprinkle of salt

Step 4:

I like to add cinnamon to mine but it's not required. Add whatever seasonings you want now

Step 5:

Add milk when the oats start to soften up

Step 6:

I like to add honey. Not required but probably pretty gross if you don't add something sweet here

Step 7:

Let bubble until it is a pleasant texture and serve. Enjoy(?)!
