i love writing out numbers and then putting them in parentheses like "one (1)" even when i dont need to i think its funny
actually I think you should be normal about ordinary citizens of authoritarian countries and yes that applies even to that country you're thinking of right now
I’m glad that OP:
1) Figured this out.
2) Shared so others can learn from their mistake.
Amazing that we call him the cookie clicker guy and not the "this website's hate mail game is insane" guy because one of those things had a much bigger impact on Tumblr culture than the other
#I think it's nice that the thing he'a known for is something he's put a lot of work into and was passionate about#as opposed to some funny posts he made in a few minutes#would you rather be known as large for your funny posts or your books if given the choice?
I'm already known for my funny posts and not my books. People express surprise that I'm a writer constantly.
#wait what#Derin I didn't know you were funny
everyone wants masc carpenter trade until his rough calloused handjob sands your thing down small and smooth as a river stone
We visited an old glass factory that was converted into a park and the photos can get very surreal.
i think there'd be alot less discourse around "fanfic vs literature" if more people treated fanfiction as it's own medium with it's own strength and weaknesses, rather than comparing it to traditional literature, because most of what i love about fan-fiction just straight up does not work in original fiction. at all.
and when i said "original fiction" i don't mean "canon fiction" or "published fiction" i mean "fiction that isn't already part of a long running series" because most fanfiction only works because it's an unofficial continuation of an already existing work, and that's not a bad thing to me, because there's stuff you can do in fanfiction that you couldn't do with new characters, it's why alot of modern tiktok romance sucks, because it assumes people like tropes for the sake of having tropes, and not specifically they like seeing characters they ALREADY LIKE doing them.
dress up is one of the most important pillars of gameplay that is often ignored by game developers to disasterous results
americans are like i was gifted child but also i didnt learn other countries existed until i was 35 years old
making this post ruined my life

Maybe quantum physics is different in a universe where a mob boss built a working supercollider that could create portals to other worlds in 2018

sorry i'm losing it thinking abt how klaasje is actually granted sooooo much depth and sympathy from the writing of disco elysium itself but so many people hate her w a burning passion just for......... lying to harry as a witness (which most characters in this game do, to some degree, to protect themselves)? and running away at the tribunal???? THAT ONE ESPECIALLY PISSES ME OFF because what was she supposed to do? just stand there and watch??? try to negotiate with the mercenaries??????? (bad idea, in their eyes she's literally just a civilian and there's no way they would listen to her) GARTE wasn't even supposed to be outside at the tribunal. harry even tries persuading the hardy boys to stay out of it bc he knows they can't win, but they're just too stubborn. ppl treat klaasje like she somehow DESERVES to have been there and stupidly risk her life over a murder she didn't commit 😭 AND SHE'S STILL MOURNING HIM..... like everything klaasje does throughout the game is out of pure survival, she's just smart enough to realize that her circumstances are so royally fucked that her only choice is to mislead harry to avoid becoming the most obvious suspect BECAUSE SHE DOESN'T KNOW WHO THE REAL KILLER IS!!! she's stuck in a situation where she can't say anything to defend herself that actually makes a difference/makes her look less suspicious!!!!!!! HER ESCAPING ARREST and nudging harry towards the island based on a gut feeling that turned out to be right is the best possible outcome, the only way she could actually do something to help! the game literally rewards you for trusting that, if anything, klaasje isn't out to hurt anybody AND THAT'S WHAT MATTERS!!!!!!! GOD
and the weirdest thing is a lot of the same people who talk abt klaasje like this still claim that preventing ruby from killing herself and letting her run away is The Right Choice (which it is, obviously) WHEN THAT'S BASICALLY THE SAME DEAL WITH KLAASJE. once she starts opening up (as much as she's able to) about her past UNRELATED crimes, she makes it extremely clear that the moralintern is going to kill her if she gets arrested over this case, and that one shivers check supports this. this is the implication you're supposed to take seriously. ruby's background isn't even any prettier than klaasje's, she worked for one of the most powerful and feared crime syndicates!! ppl literally only treat klaasje like more a villain because she hurts their feelings by being cool and pretty and not 100% honest about things LMAO............
so much of this game tries to drive home the idea of "your job is to Find The Murderer And Find Out Why It Happened, because if you don't, no one else will, and that would be bad. try not to abuse your cop powers along the way. also harry is part of a subgroup of RCM officers who actually give a shit about ppl's livelihoods and are planning to overtake and completely rework the organization from the ground-up" and yet players will see klaasje struggling to protect herself in a fully legal and consequence-free way and go Ultra Angry Misogynist Cop Mode 5000
ohhhh now I understand why the German exchange student I met in high school was enjoying North Carolina so wholeheartedly
I'm leaving this here
look at my realm's greatest champion y'all... we are getting conquered by shao kahn 😭
Took me until about halfway through college before I realized “study” means “play with the material in a variety of ways until you understand it” and not just “read the assigned chapters and do the homework” and I think that probably should have been discussed at some point prior to that.
