Traumatized people chronically feel unsafe inside their bodies: The past is alive in the form of gnawing interior discomfort. Their bodies are constantly bombarded by visceral warning signs and, in an attempt to control these processes, they often become expert at ignoring their gut feelings and in numbing awareness of what is played out inside. They learn to hide from themselves.

Hey guys! I have designed four rad shirts to help raise my remaining costs for top surgery. They are $19.99, available in lots of colors, and only available in limited quantities. My campaign ends November 5, 2016, and I need to sell at least 5 of each for my campaign to succeed.
Please like and share with as many people as possible: brothers, sisters, and allies alike.

I also have a YouCaring campaign. Every dollar helps!: https://www.youcaring.com/erik-quinn-595082
Hello, friends! Erik here. My best friend, Tobias, and his mom set up a YouCaring page to help me raise the money I need for top surgery. I am a 26 transboy currently working two jobs and have thalassemia (previously diagnosed as fibromyalgia and consistent with severe fibro symptoms) and celiac disease. I also suffer from a slew of diagnosed mental illnesses. My doctors recently found cystic bodies in my chest which means I have to get surgery as quickly as possible. I am in a lot of pain and can't go out safely in public without binding my chest as I have a beard and am stealth in my professional life. I am matching every donation I get to the dollar and already have some of the money that I need. Please donate if you are able to. Every single dollar counts. Please share this post and spread the word. It means the world to me. Thank you.
Some people need to realize that just bc someone doesn’t disclose the trauma they’ve endured and survived and are living a lifetime of working through doesn’t mean they haven’t experienced it
Looking to follow people on Instagram! 💚💀👽💚

Self-care letter to anyone who needs it.
This is an open letter, mainly to us, but if you want you are more than welcome to reblog and add to this.
Dear whoever is reading this,
this is your permission, to feel good about yourself because hey! you deserve it!
this life is yours to make of it what you want to make of it. Do what makes you happy, because in the end happiness is important, and everyone in the world deserves to be happy.
This is just a few things to do to make yourself happy and make it a few steps close to loving yourself because so many people love you, even if sometimes you don’t feel like it.
-take a relaxing bath a few times a week, use your favourite products, listen to your favourite music, light your favourite candles. just make the atmosphere relaxing, this is time for yourself, enjoy it, this is your time to enjoy the peace and relax.
-be creative, draw, sing, learn an instrument, make that food you’ve seen which makes your mouth water every time you think about it, learn a new craft, make things you’ve always wanted to make and never thought you could, you could surprise yourself and find a new talent, if things don’t go right, its okay, its all a learning process and the more you do things the better you’ll become at them.
-make a scrapbook, it can be about anything, or nothing, it could just be random ideas which come to your head, use whatever materials you can get your hands on, and enjoy it, you may learn things about yourself you never knew
-tell yourself one thing you like about yourself every day, now from personal experience i know that this is difficult, but find things you love about yourself, you smile, your laugh, your sense of humour or your fashion sense.
-go places you’ve always wanted to see, even if its a place in your local area you’ve not been in a while, just explore and see the world, its a big place and going on adventures is always exciting
-take photos along the way of your life, you don’t have to share these photos with anyone, but photos capture a moment which you can keep for a lifetime, and it may help when you want to escape back to a certain time where you was happpiest, take photos of anything and everything because even if they make no sense to anyone but you, but you are the one who matters in all of this, you are important and your happiness is important.
-laugh, this one is important, laughing can help lift any mood, listen to that funny song, watch that funny video, watch a funny film, just laugh, because your laughter is amazing.
and most importantly, remember this, even though you won’t be able to do these all the time, remember that you’’re not a failure, you are a beautiful human being, and i am proud of you, i am so so proud of you, you have defeated things you never thought you could, you are stronger than you think, you are more beautiful than you notice and you are kinder than you could imagine, and i am so proud of you just for existing, because you are amazing.
Love yourself.
you are not obligated to
be someone’s counselor and help them with all their problems if its bad for your mental health
be there for someone 24/7
remain friends with someone who emotionally drains you
maintain negative relationships because you’ve been close for so long, because you’re related, or anything else
do anything that makes you unhappy or puts your health at risk
i hope you always have enough money to pay your rent on time, to buy your favorite groceries, and to invest in your art.
*to the tune of thinking out loud by Ed Sheeran* when your meds don’t work like they used to before
Things you don’t have to apologize for
the way you feel about something
not wanting to do something that makes uncomfortable
saying sorry too much
not wearing makeup/being dressed up/doing your hair
caring about something
not being happy
crying
needing help
asking for attention
putting yourself first sometimes
your feelings!!
