Things I hated in this episode: Hemmer being killed off. Like I get it, killing off a character you built up to be grouchy and then supportive makes great shock value and gives the message that even though we see the Captain in an apron cooking, this show is dark and sad. Still a low blow!

Things I did NOT hate in this episode: that Spock/Chapel hug. Not because I ship them, not because I think they are trying to make them a thing, but because that was a good friend thing to do. Our boy is going through it and Chapel was there for him. Anything else you read into it is up to you.

Killing off Hemmer fucking HURT! Like dude WTF?! But who knows, maybe we’ll meet Scotty soon? I mean both Discovery and SNW basically already said “fuck canon” (and honestly I basically regard both of them as Alternate Timelines at this point, too many plot holes connecting to TOS) so why not let Scotty join the party! We need a new chief engineer!

And Yes! omg Spock’s emotional control slipping at the funeral scene broke my fucking heart, and then the Chapel hug was so cute!

Though I have to admit I was repeating out loud “please don’t kiss, please don’t kiss!” All the way until the hug broke and Spock left.

I mean, that was Kirk, Scotty, Uhura, Chapel, and Spock in the same episode now all we’re missing is unhinged Russian and the Asian fencer! (And maybe Rand)
