currently stuck on the fact that no matter what wally does or eventually becomes barry would continue to say with his entire chest that he did nothing wrong. like barry would know full well that wally's actions / character are in some way reprehensible or questionable, but it wouldn't matter because that's WALLY and in barry's eyes he's the most loved man in the entire universe. and the delightful truth about this blind acceptance is that, when the positions are reversed, wally wouldn't do the same. barry commits murder and wally testifies against him even when it visibly pains him to do so because his morals just won't allow for anything else. and barry even praises him for it! the eternal devotion is one-sided but it's not even relevant because there won't ever be a moment of wally's life where barry isn't proud of him.
when it comes to hypothetical animal symbolism in flash comics barry is the rabbit and wally is the hare. love, pursual, trickery, resurrection, and swiftness is associated with both of these, but rabbits are born deaf and blind and hares are born to run. are you picking up what i'm putting down.
actually let's come back to this isn't super fun and quirky how a rabbit's foot is both a protection against evil and a good luck talisman. the foot being an iconography of movement, and in this case being metaphorically cut off when barry dies, only to be passed down onto wally who is self-defined as an "oddsbreaker" as well as in his newly appointed mantle as the flash. just something to think about!!!

The way it took like a legit year for me to finish it and it’s GONE.
Look of course I'm glad jun-hee's baby survived but at some point this season gi-hun's mission changed from "i need to stop the games" to "i need to save this baby" and I hate that for multiple reasons. Call me idealistic but gi-hun was meant to be the one who ended the games, I will die on that hill. All that build up, everything he went through, and now he's gone and nothing has changed. That fucking hurts to think about tbh.
Can we go back to December 26th of 2024 and stay there forever

my season 3 critiques/things that just bugged me
i have very mixed feelings about this season, i love squid game with all of my heart and had an amazing time watching but god i have so much to say like
why was everything sunshines and rainbows 6 months later? dont get me wrong i love all of the characters so of course im glad the few that survived got their happy ending but it felt so glazed over and kind of anti-climatic. like why did jun-ho get jun-hees daughter and all of the money? he barely did anything. he literally failed to save everyone and he didn't even participate in the games. i know the money is the kids but still. i honestly think it would've been cool to see no-eul get the baby. yes, i am happy that she gets to potentially reunite with her daughter, but it just felt so sudden
we've been waiting for the confrontation with jun-ho and in-ho since season 1. yet they had no conversation. such an unsatisfying loose end
another lackluster confrontation was gi-hun and in-ho. LIKE HUH we were waiting for that all of season 2 i cant even put into words how disappointed i am at that
maybe i'm just gullible and myung-gi was manipulative the whole time and i just didn't see it, but his character being revealed as a greedy psychopath who was ready to throw his baby off a cliff felt like a bizarre turn. in season 2, once myung-gi finds out that jun-hee is in the games, he voted x. every. single. round. he even stuck up for min-su AND jun-hee in the bathroom, putting his life on the line against thanos. also in the six legged race myung-gi waits for jun-hee to find a team before he joins one. and of course in mingle he didn't hesitate to grab her when they called for 2 players. during knives and keys he tells jun-hee to kill him with the knife so her and her baby can live. mr coin being straight evil seemed like it came out of left field. of course he was always greedy and cared way too much about money, we did see a bit of that in season 2 (like when he tells jun-hee that they'll put their money together and invest in something else) so him killing players he didn't need to for money in hide and seek was kind of convincing, but overall i am still very confused and upset with what happened to his character. (also him losing his shit and assuming jun-hee had a thing with gi-hun??)
also i'm annoyed that netflix showed us jump rope in the trailer. as soon as jun-hee fell in hide and seek i literally screamed SHE CANT PLAY JUMP ROPE
I low-key don’t think Gi-hun should have killed the baby, like that would go against his character so much yall.
But also like.
It’s such a stupid fucking ending for him to end it for the baby. Gi-hun from season 1 and 2 wild have fought like hell for them both to escape.
Also like idk man. I feel like the guy from season 2 would have killed everyone in their sleep because it wasn’t about his survival but the baby and a promise to a friend. It was about taking down this whole operation. It was about going back to his own daughter. It was about everyone who died already.
It shouldve been Gi-hun takes the knife, actually kills everyone in their sleep. Jun-ho comes in and busts the whole thing bada bing bada boom.
Like idk man. Before that moment s3 was already not so great, but not outright horrible. Had some good moments, hard deaths but some of them were like yeah this makes sense when you remember where they’re at, some deaths definitely didn’t though. But after Gi-hun didn’t kill the others I was like. Hm. So we’re going with trash now?

How absolutely idiotic it was to kill the first main character ever in season fucking eight?
I can’t stress this enough, more of you should be worried that this show gets a tenth season. Because viewership will drop.
They didn’t just kill off any main character, they killed off Bobby. The guy played by Peter, the one who brought in a huge chunk of the general audience with Angela.
A lot of people only watched the show for him and her. There’s a REASON they always expand on Bobby even when it’s not necessary. He’s who the GA comes to see.
A GA who knew the shows format and continued to watch the show for said format.
Y’know.
The format where main characters aren’t killed off.
Sometimes I try and go back to the spn fandom (ao3 only anywhere else is too traumatizing)
