All Lives Matter

Yes that’s right, I said all lives matter. And here’s why:

It was to grab your attention. You’re either here to call me out on my bullshit, or you’re here because you agree with the statement.

So listen up.

All lives matter is a statement created for the sole purpose of silencing the black lives matter statement AND movement. You aren’t trying to support them, you are trying to discredit the movement and keep them quiet because you are secretly a racist bigot.

How can you say all lives matter? We’re not saying ONLY black lives matter. We’re saying black lives matter, period. We’re not saying Latinx, Asian, European, etc lives don’t matter. We’re saying that currently, to a majority of America’s (and the WORLD’S) population, black lives STILL. DON’T. MATTER.

So how can you say all lives matter if they don’t? Black lives are a part of all lives, aren’t they? So if black lives don’t matter, then NOT all lives matter, right?

Saying All Lives Matter is a lie and a racist remark. Please educate yourself before saying it.

Something to Consider

This is not your typical post about Harry Potter, about any of your fandoms, any of that.

So let me warn you now: this is a post about suicide and suicide rates.

If this idea makes you uneasy/uncomfortable, scroll past, but if not, please share to raise awareness. I know it’s not the national prevention day anymore, but it’s still relevant.

Anyways...

Here’s some statistics:

About 45,000 US citizens die from suicide a year.

There’s about 123 suicides in the US everyday.

There’s one suicide every 12 minutes in the US.

It’s the 10th leading cause of death for all ages.

Men are about 4 times more likely to kill themselves than women.

Roughly 517 children ages 10-14 die by suicide annually in the US.

About 6,252 adolescents/young adults ages 15-24 die by suicide every year in the US.

And it only gets worse with age.

The majority of suicides are committed by white people.

50% of suicides are committed using a firearm.

The second highest method is suffocation (For example, hanging)

Poisoning (usually overdosing) is the third highest method.

About 4% of Americans have thoughts of suicide. That’s 13 million Americans.

Suicide is a prevalent cause of death, not only in America but in countries around the world.

I tell you these facts so that you all understand how many lives are taken purposely. And I ask that you share and offer your help or ear to anyone who desperately needs it.

For those of you who read this and thought of yourselves, please read this.

You are important. Your life is well worth living. You are a human being with a soul and that in itself makes your existence worthwhile. There are things that get you down but that doesn’t ever mean you are lesser or that life won’t get better. If you think you’ve hit rock bottom, then the only way to go is up. If you can’t find positivity right now, think of how many sunsets there are. They’re infinite to us, but no matter what, they still awe us. The sky is ours, the trees work hard to produce oxygen and without your life form, your breathing, they wouldn’t be able to live. Your pets love you. Something you said resonated hard with a stranger. Someone’s thinking about you. There’s plenty of choices to make, you could quit your job and pursue your dream, you could sell everything to travel the world, you can do anything. Life is limited, life is short. It’s sad sometimes, but it’s not permanent. Death (depending on your religion) is. Don’t end your life preumptively. You will die in due time, it’s the circle of life. All I ask is you continue to live it. It hurts but it may damn well be your only one. There’s so much to do, I only ask that you live a little longer, try to appreciate every grain of salt, every speck of dirt, every cell in your body. Life sucks sometimes but a land with no rain and only sun is a desert, and a place with rain and no sun is an icy tundra.

If you haven’t heard this lately, let me tell you. I love you. I don’t know all of you but I love you because you’re trying. I love you, and I’m here for anyone needing to talk. I mean it.

If you’re looking for a sign to stay alive, this is it. Stay alive for a while, I know how it hurts, but take this as your sign to stay. Be curious, do you, life goes on so go and be a part of it.

Villains and Redemption

Does anyone else get kinda tired of all these redeemable villains? How they’re not ‘evil’, they’re ‘misguided’, how they’re not really a villain, only raised wrong?

While I understand that a redeemable villain seems nice, I want a villain to just be...a villain. No redemptive qualities, no becoming ‘good’, I just want a villain that’s evil to be evil. Not because of a shitty backstory, but they just decided to take on that path and that’s their life. I want a villain that’s a villain for the hell of it, for shits and giggles, just to be a goddamn villain.

The villains I know to fit this description are:

• Bellatrix Lestrange

•Most of the Disney villains (especially Maleficent. Not Hades.)

•Ever heard of Carmen San Diego? Vile.

I don’t even know that many more.

Point is, let me have villains that are just villains.

Kinda Unpopular Opinion

A lot of people think Steve and Wanda are the strongest avengers, and while I admit they are very damn strong, I personally believe the ‘strongest’ title belongs to Danvers and Stark.

Hear me out.

Wanda has abused her powers countless times in the MCU, and while a lack of training makes them harder to control, what she uses them for or, when she doesn’t use them at all, goes to prove she’s really not that strong with her powers and, frankly, shouldn’t have them. I also see her as only a subplot love interest thanks to Civil War and Infinity War, even Endgame since her robot boyfriend was apparently her everything.

Steve, while a vigilant fighter in the forties despite his conditions and a courageous man, I agree with Tony where he says (I don’t remember the quote word for word) “Everything you’ve got came out of a bottle”. Now, again, controversial, I know. But his physical strength came from a formula and a shield that wasn’t truly his. Again, he’s strong, but half his strength came from a serum.

Carol Danvers, however, was constantly strong. She didn’t need powers nor a special drink to make her stronger. She believed in herself, she always got back up when she fell (the plot of her WHOLE movie, Hello!), and she trained her ASS off. She was given powers in an accident but she learned how to use them and used them properly. For constant good.

Tony Stark, he was mentally and physically strong. He suffered the weight of feeling like a disappointment, the weight of his parents’ death (that Steve Rogers decided not to tell him about, and it wasn’t his business to keep it secret), the nightmare of losing all his friends and still, for the most part, managed to keep his shit together. He built those suits himself, he built and created from scratch, (“Tony Stark was able to build this in a cave! With a box of scraps!”), he disarmed (haha, pun) the winter soldier while wearing no suit, survived without a properly functioning heart, survived many falls that would kill any other person, got stabbed by fucking Thanos and lived, survived through space, feel free to add more.

In conclusion, Tony and Danvers are the strongest avengers, thank you for your time.

(Can’t wait to see where Marvel’s phase 4 takes us, though! I hope Wanda gets a better story.)

Do you notice it?

We all know Tony Stark was a genius, that his mind was more brilliant than almost anyone in the world, give or take about 2 others.

So, when asked the question, who’s superpower do you want, I’ve heard plenty reply with ‘Tony Stark’s genius mind’.

However, I don’t think you’d want it. Frankly, I don’t want it.

Because, look at him. He’s always uncertain, he’s not exactly happy and the poor man has got anxiety and depression, along with other issues. He’s suicidal, he’s just all wrong.

For those of you who don’t know, or simply haven’t realized, that happens to people with a higher IQ. Knowing too much leaves you sad about your past, terrified for your future, and there’s too many thoughts to ‘relax’ or ‘focus on the present’. It’s you, stuck in a warp of awful thoughts along with your brilliant mind and trust me, the experience would cause you to hate it.

The statement ‘ignorance is bliss’ is not just subjective opinion. Dare I say it’s a fact. Every gifted person would know this, would know that to be less knowledgeable is so much easier.

Anyways, I’m just saying; Tony Stark May have been a genius but that same mind is what hurt him and I don’t think people realize this enough. People don’t see this about people around them, either.

I keep seeing posts about people with social anxiety and how they cannot stand teachers that require verbal participation as a grade, that they’d rather take notes. While I sympathize with this, as it’s an actual mental illness, I’d like to put in my own word as one who loves verbal participation.

I’d rather teach a thousand classes than to write notes for a class. I’d rather get up and teach than copy from a textbook, because I need to be engaged. I need that engagement or else I’m hardly learning.

I need class discussions or else I am taking nothing from the lesson because it bored me so much I couldn’t bother to remember it. I cannot stand that.

Also, writing, or working on a computer, for class, is physically and mentally tasking. I mean that, when forced to only write notes, I feel as though a knife is carving into my arm and side. I feel nauseous when forced to write and like crying if I’m writing for too long. Class discussions save me from this.

Because of this, grading by participation leaves me with a better grade since I physically cannot handle writing so long. Maybe it’s just me, and some people won’t relate all too well, but I figured another point of view could be helpful to understand.

Please note that I totally agree with those with social anxiety, that you shouldn’t have to be graded on that. I think telling your teacher about these issues would help, and if nothing is done about it, discuss this with your parents and push comes to shove, your principal.

Voldemort, with all the same features as Tom Riddle; just grown.

Voldemort, with normal eyes, with graying hair and a nose, with slightly yellowed teeth and a scar not unlike Harry’s across his chest.

Voldemort who looks like a human being because that’s what monsters are.

Voldemort was a human, and kids need to read books about monsters that are people. Don’t let them dissociate the horror from reality. Monsters are people so fucking tell it like it is.

There’s something bothering me

We know Harry had his godfather, Sirius.

Are we supposed to believe he had no godmother?

Was Petunia his godmother?

I really don’t believe Petunia would have been his godmother, but surely, surely James and Lily had chosen one, right?

I believe it was McGonagall.

Even if it was Petunia, there’s a few little facts to know:

The godparents typically have to live locally.

Godparents have to accept?

Godparents are typically supposed to go to the baptism.

This in mind, that means Petunia would’ve lived nearby, accepted the offer, and then went to his baptism.

Reasons why I do not like Severus Snape:

He turned to dark arts when a girl turned him down.

He called said girl a racial slur when she tried to help.

He was literally a soldier of the wizarding world’s WORST not-even-human being.

He didn’t care whether or not this woman’s child and husband were killed, so long as she wasn’t.

He emotionally abused students aged 11 and up simply because he could. (Harry was orphaned, no help to Snape, and abused during his childhood- was immediately mocked, publicly. Hermione knew the answers, was ridiculed for...for actually knowing them? He threatened/acted? upon Neville/‘s toad because Neville’s potion wasn’t quite perfect and potentially would’ve fed the toad a lethal poison. Asshat.)

He was a child’s worst fucking fear! This child should’ve feared VOLDEMORT or like, I dunno, the war, or seeing his parents stuck insane for eternity. His fear was his goddamn teacher. That says a LOT.

He went to Grimmauld Place, alone, taking a picture Lily had sent and ripping it in half, keeping the piece with Lily on it. He also ripped the letter she sent with it to Sirius that said something alone the lines of ‘love you lots!’, keeping that piece.

His patronus took form of a doe, resembling Lily, and when asked if he still ‘loved’ her, he said always. No, you twat, you were obsessed with her to the point of near insanity, you let this obsession drive you to doing devilish things. Prick.

He abused his position as headmaster, and this is an iffy one because he was to be Dumbledores spy while pretending to be Voldy’s spy, but, damn. Harsh?

His only ‘redeemable’ trait is that he shared his memories with Harry. Memories that were entirely of Lily, except maybe like the actually important one, but I guess it helped somehow. He’s literally only redeemable because he gave Harry his...memories. That’s it. Other than that, he didn’t do very much that was actively good. He was simply a pawn to Dumbledore, only agreeing because it was (partially) his fault Lily died and he wanted to make up for it. It wasn’t for any other reason except obsession.

Albus Severus Potter Should NEVER have been named such. Ever. Albus Dumbledore, despite what people may believe, was a terrible man. He let a child grow in a mentally AND physically abusive home, just to go along with his plans. He let an innocent man go to prison the entire duration of Harry’s stay at the Dursley’s, and furthermore allowed Remus and everyone else to believe Sirius Orion Black could EVER have betrayed his friend that way. Dumbledore also originally conspired against the entirety of the muggle population with his boyfriend, Grindelwald.

Severus Snape, oh let me go on. Severus Snape was terrible from the getgo. This man took a fancy to the dark arts, eventually becoming a Death Eater. Severus Snape was obsessive over Lily, but Merlin forbid she help him, and he called her a racial slur for absolutely no reason. He ripped apart letters and pictures that Lily had sent to Sirius, saving the ‘Love you’ bit for himself, as well as the part of the picture with her. He was still obsessive well into his adult life, and emotionally abused children to the point of a Third Year student being so terrified of him that his BOGGART turned into Snape. He was never redeemed, just because we saw his POV. It helped Harry to save the world, but that’s not redemption. He just gave him memories, he caused hell upon his students until his dying breath.

So now that that’s out of the way, Albus Severus Potter? No. We know the name Remus was saved for Teddy, but what about Regulus? Arthur? Regulus Arthur Potter, named after two of the bravest men he ever knew- Regulus after the teen who gave his life for the war, Arthur who treated him like his own son, who was fascinated with him and like everyone else, wanted the best for him. Yeah, that’s my input, because the other names are hellish.
