A lil’ post Infinity War thoughts
Not enough people are concerned with the social/political consequences of half the world’s population disappearing in Infinity War. Like???? We got chunks of governments disappearing??? Presidents? Military leaders??? Doctors??? Surgeons MID-SURGERY???? First responders??? PILOTS FLYING PLANES??? Soldiers???? The amount of people who probably were killed just by the ripple effects of people who disappeared is...
Think about it. Governments would likely fall into chaos, depending on how many people disappeared and just what positions they held, best case is just fairly unstable. Developed and stable governments might be fine, there’d probably be A LOT of unrest, but they’d probably pull through semi-intact. But governments in new nations???? Nations with a history of political instability???? MANY parts of the world could fall into a power vacuum. In reality ANY country could crumble depending on who faded, what they were, and how many leaders were lost.
So like anarchy.... thats one concern.
And militaries being crippled? If one nation’s military all of a sudden becomes stronger in numbers than another’s and they’ve got some beef???? Yikes. (Again, power vacuum)
Planes crashing mid flight, which we got a glimpse of in the IW post credits w the helicopter crash. Potentially thousands dying there. Car crash’s???? More people. Police, fire fighters, and EMT’s not being able to handle the sheer chaos of what happened and the amount of people in trouble because their numbers were wiped in half. Hospitals not able to handle the influx of patients being as half their staff just faded, some mid-surgery. Physical injury aside the sheer PHYCOLOGICAL DAMAGE this probably caused adults and children alike.....
Oh and just thought of this gem. People who are in charge of/work at facilities like, say, a nuclear power plant. Boom (literally). More potential lives.
The global economy would likely collapse, war would prob break out in some countries, AND pretty high chance of famine and other massive issues.
Infinity War cost more lives than just the people Thanos snapped out of existance. Potentially thousands, millions, more.
