It is a travesty that this has to be reiterated so often because there are so many beautiful dark and black people in the world, but yes!! As someone who does a lot of work around mixed race identity, specifically blackness and whiteness, I never want to make it seem like that experience is at the center of every conversation. That is a narrative I am concerned with since it is the life I live, but this post is just a reminder that there are an immense amount of experiences to be thought about and explored through art and writing and an innumerable amount of ways to approach those intersections. I just rly luv black and brown folks so much :')

* A zine for POC fathered by white men * (Mixed race, adopted, & more.) It’s not up to me to decide what “father” and “white” mean to you. I’m interested in publishing all kinds of experiences and stories that fall under the umbrella of this topic. For example, father could mean father figure, grandparent, step dad, etc. Another example, I talked to someone who asked about submitting something about their white passing father who makes a lot of comments about their other family member’s dark skin. Berkeley Teacher who Punched Neo-Nazi Says Resisting Fascism is No Crime

After repeatedly punching a member of the Traditionalist Worker Party, a group described as ”a front for neo-Nazi sympathizers”, during a 2016 anti-fascism protest in Sacramento, California, Filipina American middle school teacher Yvette Felarca was arrested on charges of felony assault and two misdemeanor counts to incite a riot.

Following her arrest last year, Felarca told the media that “they are organizing to attack and kill us. So we have a right to self-defense…That is why we have to shut them down by any means necessary.” She also said the point of the demonstration was to “shut down the Nazi scum”.

There's (somewhat) a lot of media on interracial couples where one of them is white which sometimes really hurts since I'm in an interracial relationship where both of us are poc. People always seem surprised that we're dating eachother especially since when my boyfriend talks about me they think I'm white (I have an English name). Just sharing my feelings, thanks for the blog guys!

Since being here it’s made me feel a lot better about the fact my mom always tells me I’m not mixed. My dad is white and she’s half white half Asian so I’m only a quarter, but she thinks of herself as full white. I’m so white passing it’s unreal anyway but I love my Asian heritage so. Anyway it’s nice knowing I’m not alone in my experiences <3
