Why are there so many permanent victim women on my timeline
who up in a kafka-esque rut sleep deprived, casually malnourished, socially awkward, painfully self-conscious, struggling financially, lacking community, altogether anhedonic
November 7th marks the anniversary of the october revolution which resulted in the hardest painting ever made
“Свершилось!”/“Finally!”, Sergey Lukin
“[They]Extinguish the human with work… why? Stealing the life itself from the human - I ask again, Why?! Our owner - I lost my life at Nefedov’s factory - our owner gifted one songstress a golden hygiene set, even a gold champer pot! In this chamber pot is my force, my life itself. This is for what it was needed - a person killed me with work to satiate his lover with my blood - he bought a golden chamber potty with my blood!”
- “Mother”, Maxim Gorky, 1906

#really cannot emphasize enough how much iguanamouth changed the site’s sense of humor and therefore the timeline of the western world
Dahling you simply must read this book! It’s all about this devious little caterpillar who simply gorges himself on all manner of divine things
that disease is... being on your phone too much
ultimately the truth about frankenstein is that we are all grotesque amalgamations of the best and worst parts of everyone who came before us. and sometimes the people who are supposed to love us because of and in spite of this will not. and we can kill them with hammers for that. and i think that’s beautiful

Do you want to be politically pure in theory or help your neighbor. Is it fruitless to help your neighbor because there's no Perfect Pure way to do it ?
Honestly I would rather be politically pure. Your neighbors would never help you, so why help them?
Youre who this post is talking about. Individualism and elitism is not going to help the revolution and grassroots activism and mutual aid.
When the pandemic hit this old church lady joined our tattooed queer leftist mutual aid group bc her church soup kitchen closed. We shrugged and told her she was welcome as long as she didn't proselytize.
That woman never gendered me right once, but she shut up about Jesus long enough to feed people next to us bc she cared more about action than ideology. She also had a whole network of other church people who helped contribute $ to ingredients. We provided more and better meals together than in our "correct" silos
That's how any of us get out of any of this
oops I accidentally separated myself emotionally from everyone to avoid feeling any bad feelings & it worked but at the expense of my sense of connectedness and belonging
Something the AI text boom has made me realize is that "no information" is significantly better than "wrong information."
I just saw Doordash AI describe a gallon of blue cheese dressing as a "sweet and refreshing beverage concentrate."
So this is a cool time to note that a key paradigm shift that has occurred (according to me I guess but I'm sure others agree) is this:
It is an old saying that "Knowledge is power" which leads us to champion information itself as valuable. But that phrase was born in a time where information was rare, exclusive, limited and hard to access.
Information is absolutely abundant and superfluous in our time-- it has been for decades, but with the addition of AI it now becomes ubiquitous, copious.
Knowledge is no longer power. To 'know' something means little when it may easily be false, fabricated, propagandized and clickbaited.
Discernment is power, today.
The ability to tell real from fake, to identify distraction or false narratives, to know when someone is lying.
People who think knowledge is still power willfully engorge themselves on mind-poisons not knowing the only way to survive is discernment.
chat is this real
gender essentialism is soooo funny bc it's like "this is what women are like" and you're like "I've met women and many of them, if not the majority, have not been like that" and it's like "well women SHOULD be like that" and you're like "why should women be like that" and its like "because that's what women are like"
🌼 Monet planted the water lilies before he painted them. Monet organized his property at Giverny as though it were a huge painting. Thanks to a small army of gardeners, he diverted a river, planted water lilies, exotic flowers, weeping willows, bamboo trees, and willows. He seeded the pond and added enclosures with white chickens, ducks, and pheasants. Nature, recomposed by the artist, began to resemble his art. "My finest masterpiece," he later said, "is my garden." 🌼
