it's interesting how it's actually christine who is emotionally unavailable and doesn't know how to handle feelings, not spock who is actively and persistently trying to make her open up to him.

and it really shows how complex christine is - she is empathetic, making others (including spock) feel safe and encouraged to speak about their feelings, yet she can't be vulnerable herself.

spock is clearly worried about christine putting up walls and acting as if she is okay, he doesn't like it that she wants to be left alone, but christine has too many unresolved issues and is too stubborn to change her ways.

As a european i sometimes forget furefkied are actually real and not american folklore/cryptids. Like you’ve got friendly little bugs that glow in the dark….. b r uh

in case europeans were worried: we love them very much! even tho they’re clumsy and slow and sometimes bump into you, no one swats fireflies here, or takes them for granted. even grownups sometimes reach out in the summer and gently catch a firefly for a minute before letting it go.

By “reach out” that’s meant quite literally–you just kinda. Stick your hand in their flight path and they land on you and will sit on your hand for a bit. Sometimes if you’re just walking or standing outside while they’re active you have to shoo them off you because they’ll just. Sit on you.

They’re harmless and very pretty and it’s always a treat to see because they’re out for a relatively short time each year.

I think if they ever remake the Hunger Games one thing I would want them to add more in is how much of a pair Katniss and Peeta are.

From the beginning, they're basically a package deal. From when they're threatening Haymitch on the train with Peeta throwing the glass, which leads to Katniss and the knife to even how they play off one another when it comes to the star cross lovers act.

Neither of them could have won the games without the other. Peeta, while he had some strengths in the arena, shinned when he played the Capitol. Katniss was the better fighter in the arena, but she needed someone to play off of for social interactions. She would have been quickly forgotten of in that arena if she didn't have Peeta to help keep their story going and her interactions with Rue.

It will make the devastation of them being ripped apart in Mockingjay so much worse. Katniss' other half is gone, and they want her to now play a role that he excells at.

It will also make they're coming back to one another that much sweeter, too. They're a pair, and they're gonna stay that way. Always coming back to one another.

(Also can we agree that if Peeta was in 13 from the start with or without Katniss, he would've taken control out from Coin in like less than two weeks. Peeta Manipulator Mellark everybody, Coin would be shaken in her revolution needing wig)

Ugh this is so true though! Her other half was gone in Mockingjay! And she was expected to now play both roles! Because they didn’t rescue Peeta and now she has to play his part! But no one could ever play his part! Even Katniss says so in many many subtle ways throughout the book! How many times did my girl long for him! The real him! The one she knew and loved! Because even as he came back he was still gone! Right when she needed him most!
