Sometimes you think of something and you need it made
Astarion Ancunin in Baldur's Gate 3 (2023).
Such beautiful eyes, it would be a shame a tadpole crawled inside them.
I'm very sorry but it was super fun to draw, EXTRA FUN :^)
One of the biggest things I've ever drawn!!! Damn these backgrounds 💀 And detailing 💀💀 But I really enjoyed drawing this! Learnt a lot from this comic of what style I'd like to have, the pipeline and so on.
firstly drawn in may '25
Who knows how much longer I'll lay on the floor
Touch me till I vomit
I'm not scared of god, I'm scared he was gone all along

It's all coming up Astarion.
karlach... those are some strong feelings you're expressing and i've learned to accept your feelings. we listen and we do not judge.
One of the funniest moments of these one shots. No one hurt that sweet baby boy who has done nothing "provably" wrong to anyone.

what is THE worst thing you've ever drank. all liquids acceptable. please tell me what it was, bonus points for why
Hey whoa hi. Hello. I am looking directly into your ear canal. What do you mean you drank a tube of virus concentrate.
So, I was working in a lab, right? My job in the lab was preparing a pure, concentrated enough sample of virus. This is tricky since, y'know, viruses require hosts to replicate, but you then need to get the host cells (and the pieces of the host cells that died!) out of the sample while still keeping the viruses. Once I'd finished and the samples had been sent to the database for analysis as well as a second one sent to be frozen for future reference, there was still some left over that needed to be disposed of.
I, knowing that this was a once in a lifetime opportunity, waited carefully for the lab director to be deep in conversation with someone else on the other side of the laboratory. And then I took my chance.
Test tubes, as it turns out, are really bad as shot glasses. Their shape turns any liquid inside into a stream, so you really can't knock it back quickly - it takes a couple seconds. Additionally, the best way I can describe the taste of virus concentrate was "sterile rot". A very unique kind of bad! Made worse by the test tube's inefficiency as a shot glass.
(by the way we were studying bacteriophages, not animal viruses. these viruses are too specialized on attacking prokaryotes to even recognize our cells as targets at all, according to studies.)
(but also like. if the viruses managed to successfully switch hosts and killed me with a violent infection, itd still be worth it.)
(for science.)
You have a fitting blog title
this post is getting 50k easy
This WOULD be how humanity would go out though tbh
I keep seeing people joking about how Gerry straight up doesn't read anything because of the Leitners and my brain keeps making it worse and worse lmao
Recipe books? Hell no, thats dangerous. If he needs to cook, he just freehands that shit. Do not trust his baking. Maps? Too many little words. They could lead him anywhere. Noo, he just takes a compass and uses the stars. He'll figure it out eventually. Britain isn't thatt big. He hasn't read a thing since he was 10. His hair dye's so bad because he refuses to read the instructions on the bottle. He knows nothing that isn't said out loud. You never know where a Leitner could be hiding. Cant get him if he just refuses to read a word.
Nevermore characters as birds cause why not
Lenore is a raven
Well, who else? She is literally inspired by this poem. She's gothic and elegant, she drags death and destruction everywhere, she has black hair sticking out like feathers. Ravens are usually associated with death but also with intelligence and wisdom. And dont forget they're curious and impudent as hell.
Annabel is a swan
She's beauty, she's grace, she will bite you if you get too close. These birds can be a menace, you know. Still, swans traditionally symbolizes romance and delicacy. And most importantly, they mate for life.
Morella is a dove
A symbol of peace and fragility. Aesthetically very similar to a swan, but I can't think of any negative associations with doves. I mean in Christianity they are literally messengers of God. Pigeon post also reminds me of how Morella served as a bridge between rival groups throughout the first season.
Ada is a magpie
Intelligent and curious birds that mostly use their wits to be troublemakers. They are greedy for shiny objects and are usually associated with deception and theft but you know, not with intentionally malicious deception but rather with tricky one.
Basically what I'm trying to say, morellada is "The Dove and the Magpie" fable.
Duke is a peacock
I MEAN LOOK AT HIM. The color palette is perfect. Peacocks are associated with narcissism and show off and who likes to put on a show more than Duke? This guy knows how to present himself, even if sometimes his friends can't be seen behind his bright tail.
Pluto is a shrike
A small and funny bird, isn't it? WRONG. Their name means "butcher" in Latin. These little things impale their victims on sharp objects, usually thorny plants, to eat later. Absolutely unhinged. Pluto seems pretty harmless, especially compared to the rest of the maze trio but I remind you that he was going to shoot Montresor without hesitation (while Duke, for example, hesitated before killing him and Lenore did not consider it a necessary measure at all). Also the shrike's plumage reminds me of Pluto's emo bangs lol.
Eulalie is a swallow
An exceptionally charming bird with many positive associations. Some believe that swallows bring good luck, which is an interesting contrast to Pluto`s misfortune powers. This is probably due to the fact that swallows return home with the arrival of spring.
Berenice is a hummingbird
One of the smallest and fastest birds, looks almost like a fairy. It suits a party girl like Berenice well. The hummingbird has insanely beautiful iridescent plumage, with a metallic mother-of-pearl sheen and a green-red palette (green for her dresses from life, red for her spectre).
Prospero is a falcon
This one was difficult. I wanted to give Prospero a bird of prey, something fast and dangerous, something that would outwardly reflect his spectre (he has the mask of the plague doctor! he's got a beak!!) yet nothing looked good enough. The owls had the right associations, but the wrong aesthetics. Rooks were a curious option, but they weren't threatening enough. So the falcons.
This particular one is a peregrine falcon. Falcons are royal birds symbolizing nobility and bravery. Qualities that Prospero does not attribute to himself, but which others see in him. After all, he's based on a prince character.
Montresor is a rooster
What can I say. He's cocky. Roosters can be extremely aggressive defending their territory. They are pugnacious, loud and prideful. At the same time, in many cultures they symbolize bravery and protection. In addition, the rooster has a metaphorical connection with the sun, and as a result with fire. We all know in what context Monty can be regarded as the sun. This brings us to...
Will is a sparrow
I guess I just wanted to connect him to Shakespeare because 'There is special providence in the fall of a sparrow'. In my defense I really love Hamlet.
Such a small common bird, such a simple creature, they can be found anywhere in huge numbers. I'm not sure they even realize how small and insignificant they are, considering how active and brash they are at the same time. That was the first bird I thought of when it came to Will. There were a couple more alternatives, but the first thought in this case is the most obvious, isn't it?
also some species of sparrows take dust baths– oh wait who said that
Aaaand that's it. Almost. A couple of alternative bonus options are below. There's not a lot of symbolism, but a lot of aesthetics and wordplay.
reminder that Nevermore is currently taking place in the early morning of the sixth night
So when Lenore says that Morella doesn’t really know anything about her, she means it cause it hasn’t even been a week since they met 💀 I made this meme a year ago and it’s only been eight-ten hours in canon
Something I did 3 months ago👆
I think people misunderstand "x fell first, y fell harder " trope because it's not about like the one who fell harder loves the other person harder. It's just that the one who fell first falls in a graceful way, one step at the time, maybe gradually over a span of time. The one who fell harder smashes trough the air, there's blood everywhere, everything is fine-
Love this take and can think of so many couples that this applies to, both canon and non-canon ones.
heres a quick archivist drawing i did when i was half asleep. im working on helen art but i just cant help myself!!!!
When Jurgen said “Michael? Oh, that’s what The Distortion calls itself these days, isn’t it?” I couldn’t help but laugh at the idea of this incomprehensible horror exploring its identity and self-expression. It really brings a whole new meaning to the phrase “transition goals”
