Given how Star Wars Youtube is a wretched hive of scum and villainy, I've decided to make a playlist of the Star Wars videos I've seen there that are not terrible (mainly in that these videos don't go "Jedi bad!").
So far, it's mostly a mix of lego and music videos, but there's also a few video essays. Most of the videos are also older videos.
Consider this a late May the 4th present

So an AU fic that I want to read but will not write is a Dooku stays a Jedi au fic that basically takes place over the entire prequel trilogy. Palpatine gets someone else to handle Dooku's canonical job with the clone wars.
TPM would go pretty much the same, except Dooku bears 0 responsibility or complicity in the death of his former padawan.
The Clone Wars would be interesting though. Just imagine Dooku as a Jedi General leading a battalion of clones. Or even imagine if General Dooku ended up on a mission with the 501st, or even the 212th.
He'd probably get killed by order 66, seeing as most Jedi were killed by it. If even he survived it, there's a strongly possibility he wouldn't live through the OT, seeing as he's already old during the PT. On the other hand, a good Dooku interacting with the OT cast could be fun, so maybe it could be a middle of the road approach where he's a force ghost.
Jedi June 2026
A creative fandom event dedicated to appreciating the Jedi, taking place during the entire month of June! Each week will feature two prompts, around which people can create fanwork (of any kind – fic, art, cosplay, edits, anything you can think of) or meta focusing on the Jedi and the Jedi Order. All eras and continuities are welcome; OCs, established characters, doesn’t matter – it just needs to be about appreciating the Jedi!
Rules:
If you are participating, please tag your work/meta with #jedi june and/or @ this blog so that I will see it and reblog it here. All work must be your own. Feel free to crosspost it off-site.
This is an appreciation event, focusing on what we love and enjoy about the Jedi – not what we don’t. This is not the place to air your grievances with the Code, take potshots at the Council, prop certain Jedi/certain eras of Jedi up at the expense of others, or disparage the Jedi Order or their philosophy (including the concept of non-attachment) and way of life in any way. You are free to do that on your own time if that’s your thing, but it has no place within this event.
AUs and crossovers are allowed, with caveats: again, the purpose of this event is to appreciate the Jedi as Jedi, so sticking your favorite Jedi characters in something like a modern AU or making them all Sith or Mandalorian is not really within the spirit of this event. However, AUs such as making a non-Jedi character a Jedi, having a character survive their canon death, giving a character a different teacher or padawan, or killing Palpatine off-screen in an unspecified yet embarrassing and painful manner, would all be perfectly fine. Use your best judgement to determine whether an AU fits the spirit of the event or not.
On non-attachment: in a general sense, attachment refers to grasping, clinging, possessiveness, jealousy, and the "I can't live without you"/"I will burn down the galaxy before I risk losing you" attitude. See this post and this post for more information. A romance can certainly exist without these things, so you can certainly write Jedi in relationships for this event!

I think we need to fully appreciate the fact that the reason he “looks like the Devil” is that many depictions of the Devil in American popular media are specifically caricatures of this guy. I kind of made this very hard for myself, because I never actually saved the videos I watched back then that I found thought-provoking - but I looked around for a couple of videos that I remember being either thought-provoking or convincing. This isn't perfect list, it's made with hindsight, and more importantly, what I found convincing isn't going to convince everyone. (OBS! I'm not saying I endorse or agree with all things said in them, what I am saying is that they in retrospect where important to my deradicalization process)
1. Haviv Rettig Gur: The Great Misinterpretation - how Palestinians view Israel
The most memorable one, that was incredibly crucial for my deradicalization and which I find incredibly important and fully endorse, is this video by Haviv Rettig Gur about the Palestinian view of Israel
2. Dr Einat Wilf: Antizionism is Antisemitism
This speech by Dr. Einat Wilf is just... great, and I highly recommend it. So many of her videos resonated with me, and still do (especially the video of her talking about why she believes it was wrong for Sweden to recognize Palestine in 2014)
3. Anti-Zionist Jew Vs. Rudy Rochman
This campus debate between Rudy Rochman and an antizionist jew, among others, was pretty memorable
4. Lex Friedman - Israel-Palestine Debate: Finklestein, Destiny, M. Rabbini & Benny Morris
My sincere apologies for including a video featuring both Destiny and Finklestein, but this debate was pretty interesting and informative, mostly because of Benny Morris- it also finally made me loose all respect for Finklestein (finally)
5. Pro-Palestinians Can't Debunk this Israeli Video
This one I also remember (partly for the cringey title (imo)- I found it very hard to stomach, but true to the title, I couldn't really counter anything said in the video, and it helped me realise that I knew much less than I thought I did

I honestly lean more towards that it wasn't intentional and is more likely inspired from the word "sidhe" or something similar. Not that George isn't above being silly with Star Wars (he LOVES being silly with Star Wars!) but with such a central bit of lore from the series, I imagine he wanted something more inspirational. However, being a barely concealed anagram of shit is very funny and I think he would be fine with us making a meal out of it. REVENGE OF THE SHIT LORDS is 100% accurate as a summary of the movie. 😂
The Germans really cooked making "Hobbyless behaviour" an insult. It is both devastating, applicable to a wide range of people and behaviours, and doesn't resort to swearing.

A Star Wars Fic Prompt
Padme survives ROTS and raises the twins in hiding, possibly with the help of her Naberrie family on Naboo, or even her former handmaidens. She's depressed from Anakin becoming Vader and the Republic becoming the Empire. As force sensitives, Luke and Leia can feel her depression but can't do much about it due to how young they are. Padme, and whoever is helping her (if there is anyone) is dealing with two very young force sensitive kids.
Padme's health actually starts deteriorating, probably due to the depression. She dies when the twins are either two or three. Luke and Leia are then split up like they are in canon, with Luke going to the Larses and Leia adopted by the Organas. If the Naberries and/or handmaidens were involved with taking of Luke and Leia, they have to let the twins go for their safety.
There can also be an epilogue where the Naberries and/or handmaidens reach out to Luke and Leia after ROTJ and offer to tell them about Padme.
