One of my Dr who pet peeves is when people talk about classic who like oh haha they had a shoestring budget and all the effects were tinfoil and bubblewrap, that's how doctor who is SUPPOSED to be, it doesn't need a budget! And it's like ok but classic who was made by professionals who worked very hard and often had good special effects ):<
guys it’s ok we’re still getting CBeebies doctor who
Yet another new study debunked the basis for the anti-trans sports bans. It was never about sports but for creating legal avenues for exclusion and abjection. This is one of the largest analyses ever conducted, involving 52 studies and 6,485 trans people. Read the study here.
post so nice had to reblog it twice and force it down everyone's throats
At minimum about 4.5 thousand people liked this without reblogging it.
We gotta fix that.
Progress.
Onwards!
I can't access the full paper, but their conclusion is right there in the abstract:
While transgender women exhibited higher lean mass than cisgender women, their physical fitness was comparable. Current evidence is mostly low certainty and has heterogenous quality but does not support theories of inherent athletic advantages for transgender women over cisgender.
awww the like button turns into a rainbow when you press it! that's so cute...hey staff what's with all the trans women you keep nuking?
i think we should be ridiculing them more for this. you don't get to try and go all "queer website" when your staff likes to go on nuking sprees targeting the trans fem users
would be remiss not to mention that the rainbow notably straight up just removed the trans flag colors from it. like they’re gone. it’s the progress flag minus the trans flag colors.
that’s not the whole flag, now is it
they put my blood through every test under the sun and yet nowhere in the pages and pages of lab reports do they tell me what my blood type is
your neutrophils absolute? 2.71. anion gap? why, that's 11! hemoglobin A1C? a solid 5.4. and don't fret, champ—your VLDL (calculated) is a cool 12. real fascinating stuff. hm? what's that? you want to know what kind of blood you have? like, so you won't have to look your next ER nurse in the eye and tell her you have no clue what type you have right after giving her a date of birth that confirms you are over 30 years old? psh, don't be silly! we can't tell you that! it's a ✨secret✨
do you know your blood type??
yes, I'm certain of it
I think my family told me what it was but I'm not sure/no recent test to confirm
no, I have no clue
I don't have blood/results
Belinda Chandra had a baby she wasn't supposed to have with a man she didn't love, in a reality created by a conservative misogynist. The story ends with her entire life being rewritten without her consent to revolve around this baby and this is framed as a happy ending.
Amy Pond carries her husbands infant to term without knowing it and wakes up during labor to realise her body has been invaded and treated as a tool, and her daughter is taken away to be turned into a living weapon. This is treated as a horrifying invasion of her life and she kills the woman who did this to her.
May become an AMV one day, but unlikely unless my storage skyrockets. My Dad wanted me to make an edit of Steven to Hey Stephen by Taylor Swift which I thought was really funny. However the urge to turn it into a Onesteven edit won.

just met my favourite author (r f kuang) and still shaking, it was an 8 second interaction after an hour and a half line but so meaningful and worth it
I know we've all had other things to think about lately, but let it be noted that Doctor Who is now officially on its longest hiatus since the show came back in 2005, at 409 days and counting since the episode The Reality War aired on 3/31/25. The previous record was 398 days between the last Thirteenth Doctor episode, The Power of the Doctor, on 10/23/22 and the first Fourteenth Doctor special, The Star Beast, on 11/25/23.
Supposedly we're getting a Christmas special this year, which if true will bring the current gap up to 634 days. At that point it will have shot past the infamous delay between season 22 and 23 of the Classic series (525 days), which in many ways heralded the end of that era.
Still, I have hope. There were 2,349 days between the last Classic episode and the Eighth Doctor TV movie, and another 3,240 days between the premiere of that film and the first Ninth Doctor episode. So I do think we'll eventually get more Doctor Who on our screens again, even if it takes quite a while.
