the impossible return
no but im thinking about the videos diaries now bcos for like 20 years Grace and the other astronauts were all remembered as the heroes who went on a suicide mission to save the sun? which is impressive on its own but once the beetles come back and some of the videos get released everyone is like :O :O :O bcos not ONLY did Ryland Grace nobly volunteer to go on a suicide mission to save the sun, he did the whole mission by himself after the other astronauts died and made first contact with an alien species while he was at it?? he's basically the best guy in history??
but then someone leaks the Full Unadultered Ryland Grace diaries and there's gonna be various Realisations along the lines of
oh my god he didn't volunteer. oh god he was so angry & miserable and lonely up there. they just sent this sweet man to die in space against his will. oh we're all alive because they killed this poor man. okay.
oh my god he was so stupid he was such a stupid dork he nearly got us all killed so many times
it means so much to me that rocky's lead puppeteer james ortiz got to voice him and got like. full billing right next to ryan gosling in the opening credits. and he's gotten to do interviews and red carpet appearances and talk about puppetry and it's all being taken so seriously just like he's any other type of actor. gonna make me cry fr. like they could have gotten some famous person to be rocky's voice to try and pull more star power but. they went with the guy who acted him. and like of course they did. like there he is. how could they do anything else. he's right there and he's perfect
Still wrapping my head around the fact the phrase "Hold Your Horses" is a play on the word Stable...
To be stable.
obsessed w how none of these are the real origin of the phrase
If I had a nickel for every time a show I've watched killed off a previously suicidal character after they'd found love and joy because the writers wanted more "realism," I'd have two nickels.
Which isn't a lot, but it's really fucked up that it's happened twice.

So close LibreOffice! The word I was looking for was arsenal.
Thanks for the suggestion though.
how it started:
how it's going:
can we talk about how the bank card was shoved down gi hunâs throat??! who did that and why?
seriously..what the fuck
I've got you under my skin
had a fascinating english class that resulted in the notes header âthe forcefeminization of victor frankensteinâ
what the people want, the people get
you see
my professorâs take is that mary shelley is feminizing victor throughout the novel, as a way of flipping gender roles and putting a male character through female experiences.
evidence as explained:
victor is creating life. he is putting his health at risk (spends two years with little sleep or socialization) to bring life forth into this world
his illness after he is shocked by the creature coming to life is akin to both âhysteriaâ and postpartum depression
he pretty much swoons, letâs be honest
henry clerval, a man who has been characterized as manly and heroic, has to chase after damsel-in-distress victor and care for him as he convalescesÂ
afterward, he hides what he did and went through, for fear that others will label him crazy and emotional and not believe him. sound familiar?
Victor in general is more emotional than the other characters and is constantly tempering his reactions to not be seen as irrationalÂ
the book does not otherwise have central female charactersÂ
Also, Shelleyâs mother died in childbirth. Itâs interesting, then, that Shelley presents the creation of life as something horrific and damaging. She parallels Victor with her mother.
in conclusion, Frankenstein (1818) by Mary  Wollstonecraft Shelley is one of the first examples of mpreg in English literatureÂ
I was not expecting that last line.
THIS IS THE KIND OF ESSAY WE NEED MORE OF
One of my favorite thing Iâve learned about animals studies is that you should avoid using colorful leg bands when youâre banding birds because you can accidentally completely skew the data because female birds prefer males with colorful bands
Apparently if you put a red band on a male red wing blackbird his harem size can double
So like you can completely frick up the natural reproduction of a group of birds by giving a guy a bracelet so stylish that females CANNOT resist him
Me, putting a red bracelet on the leg of a male red wing blackbird: ON GOD we gonna get u some pussy bro
I remember reading a study where researchers realized that female birds of a certain species preferred males with a darker breast. So they created what they literally called a âSuper-Sexy Maleâ by catching a male and coloring his chest with a marker. They then ran dna tests on the eggs in the area.
Previously when the researchers had run these tests, they found a certain amount of infidelity was common for these birds. Somewhere around 10% of eggs were fathered by males who were not the primary mates of females.
After the advent of the Super Sexy Male, however, stuff got crazy in bird world. Infidelity skyrocketed, with upwards of 25% of ALL EGGS in the area being fathered by this specific male. Furthermore, his mateâs eggs were 100% his.
This is just insane to me. Just imagine youâre living your bird life when suddenly somebody scribbles on Daveâs chest and the ladies canât stop throwing themselves at them. Itâs stupid that we theoretically can wreck this kind of havoc on an ecosystem.

Itâs back! I think about this post monthly
Aliens abduct me from a cornfield only to set me back down at the club with a sick leather jacket and some shades
shhhh
the world is getting so ugly and bleak and itâs hard not to feel so hopeless. but we have to remember that they want us to feel that way.
it reminds me of this quote by dan savage - âDuring the darkest days of the AIDS crisis we buried our friends in the morning, we protested in the afternoon, and we danced all night, and it was the dance that kept us in the fight because it was the dance we were fighting for.â
joy is resistance. itâs really scary times but we are all in this together.
