pearlescentmoon faces the absolute pits of misogyny in the mcyt fandom constantly. plenty has been said on the post itself about how her most common characterization in the life series fandom is "crazy bitch." also in the life series, she's the only winner of a series who's forced to share the title by the fandom: many fans insist that Scott, her soulmate, was also a winner in the series she won. despite all the shit he did to her (which is downplayed like HELL by the fandom). additionally in the life series, her suffering is either considered her fault or it's ignored and turned into "oh wow she's such a girlboss." in another season of the life series she's delegated to being the dead wife of her teammates, which is all the fandom really seems to care about.

one of these teammates is grian, of whom she's frequently mischaracterized as the "responsible older sister," especially in hermitcraft and evo smp fanworks. in fic she frequently shows up to coddle him and help him work through his trauma (which she also experienced Btw). or she shows up in the background of fics to be a cheerleader for the blandest m/m ships imaginable (again always involving the man people insist is her brother). this is Unspeakably ooc, of course.

she can never win. she's a crazy bitch; she's the older sister character; she's the dead wife; she's in an f/f ship in the background that the author doesn't focus on but threw in so that they can say they care about women. name a negative stereotype about women in fandom and she's been called that enthusiastically by a decent percentage of the fanbase.
