I finished Crimson Rivers and I am flabbergasted.

Everytime I read one of Zar’s works I am typically left with such appreciation about the fact that I live in a time where we take these things that mean so much to us and we make them better and even more meaningful.

As someone who deeply relates to both the Black brothers this book has to take the cake on my list of fanfiction that have changed my world view in some way.

The way each character navigates through grief, pain, love, guilt and life after survival is absolutely world shattering. Zar has really outdone themselves with the many parallels, juxtapositions and just depth given to each and every character.

I am in awe of them as a author as well as just how strong and beautiful they are as a human being and I only know them through their writing.

It is one thing to be able to tell a story it is another gift entirely to tell a story and have it mean something to so many people without that ever truly being the intent. CR has reached so many people within the fandom and it’s truly a breathtaking journey.
