It’s obviously not on the same scale as custas and tartah but Qifrey & Olly’s memory erasure deal is also in a way an outcome of the witch society’s ableism. Rare Chronic and Terminal illnesses are often under researched and the research that does happen is underfunded. People with them often have to go out of their way to find an answer that will alleviate their pain because medical professionals often don’t help, and those that want to are often not granted the right to. Qifrey and Olly found a way to help Qifrey entirely on their own, and even that comes at the expense of another person. The silverwood tree tale is a romanticized story erasing the pain someone terminally ill with no cure faced.

see the thing is you cant compare sashisu with itafushikugi one to one because itafushikugi doesn't exactly have a shoko parallel, because no one really left behind in that trio the way shoko was...and that's its own tragedy imo. that shoko was there too but never really a part of it. gojo says he was alone after suguru left. what about shoko? "i was there too wasn't i?" but that shit wouldnt happen with itafushikugi because they function differently as a trio..

anyway saying nobara is a shoko parallel just bc she's a girl is stupid. nobara simply isn't as passive or pessimistic as shoko is. and also, to me, with shoko and satosugu there's always this distance. it's especially obvious after suguru's defection where satoru and shoko both still obviously care for each other, but both of them think the other doesn't care as much as they do. shoko is pissed that satoru felt alone and satoru is pissed that shoko was just fine with the brain transplant plan. but they don't communicate any of this!! so they both think their care isn't fully reciprocated.

whereas with itafushikugi, i can't see any one of them thinking 'oh these two are leaving me behind' or 'they don't love me as much as i love them'. their dynamic is just different. actually, even if one of them thought this it would NOT be nobara lmao. it would either be megumi post-canon when he's dealing with depression or yuji pre-shibuya where he thought he was eventually going to be executed, but even that would manifest more like "they're going to be fine without me around". regardless, i maintain that itafushikugi aren't one for one parallels for sashisu no matter how you pair them up.

I love the WHA fandom. Most of the people in it are very cool. But something that really bothers me is how people keep referring to Qifrey as 'the mother' or 'wife'.

I totally get why somebody would call him either of those things. He checks a lot of boxes when it comes to the stereotypical traditional woman, despite being a man. However, as funny as it is, it does feel misogynistic.

Why can't we just accept that a man likes cooking and taking care of kids without calling him a woman? Why must some things always be a woman's job?

It's very disappointing when you take a look at the story and realise that the author puts so much effort into challenging social norms only for things like this to occur.

he categorised himself as an escaping-conventional-design-of-morality evil thing, something before a someone, as something inherently worse and not worthy of the title of human and person because he finds some enjoyment in his purpose perpetuating violence, something the only person he considers good and human, tsumiki, despises. and because he internalised all of that on top of THE VERY LITERAL SELF DESTRUCT BUTTON HES HAD SINCE HIS TECHNIQUE MANIFESTED and so. much. generational. trauma. from all sides. hes convinced he needs to prove that hes deserving of survival.

Thats His Whole Arc. him changing his mind that 1) hes deserving of survival because he CAN be a great sorcerer outside of kamikaze-ing himself because He Wants To Live And Then 2) he deserves to live because he chooses to live. and its okay for it be as simple as that even just for a moment

(NOT touching upon the subject if he Internalised that its okay for him to want to live just to live)

his charater arc is about All The Expectations thrown at him from all sides because hes a smart, talented and disciplined, exploited kid and how That leaves him vulnerable to be exploited and hurt and how that can break a person.

and then theres the beautiful and not-in-your-face progression (as all development with megumi is, because his excellence is EXPECTED not Celebrated like EVERYONE ELSES in jjk): he goes from carrying makis weapons in his shadow, to hiding Himself and His Own Sword, to the "My Shadow Is Everywhere!" line

Hey so someone with chronic migraines is disabled, yall know that right

Like this applies to all “invisible” disabilities in the sense that just bc you can’t see what’s wrong doesn’t mean nothing is wrong or they aren’t disabled but it’s especially the case for chronic migraines

Migraines are NOT just headaches. It’s not just “oof ow my head hurt :(”, Migraines are WHOLE body affair. It’s getting weepy and irritable hours before the pain hits, it’s starting to get clumsy and feeling body aches just before the pain starts, it’s getting stiff because of the aches and sensitive to light and sound because of how heightened senses get.

And when the pain gets, sometimes it is the general image of someone locked in a dark room in bed, which is genuinely awful bc you can’t do anything. You just have to lay there and stew in your pain and no medicine touches it and everything hurts, worst of all your head and there is nothing to focus on other than the pain because any light hurts and any sound hurts.

But sometimes the pain isn’t bad enough for that, or sometimes you have to work or go to school with nails in your head and it’s impossible to focus. Your depth perception gets wonky, you’re clumsy, you slur or stumble over your words because so much of your brain is occupied only by pain. You can’t miss another day of work, you can’t miss the money, but you’re messing up orders or you’re misunderstanding instructions.

And then there’s the after. Postdrome, the migraine hangover. Where the emotional and irritability returns, and you have issues with your stomach, very often leaving you unable to eat or drink without puking. Your neck is stiff, your head feels heavy, your brain is so fogged up that you can barely string together a coherent sentence. Your body aches much worse than before, and you’re exhausted, fatigued to hell and back, and that lasts for 1-3 days after the actual migraine.

Migraines are a multi-day condition that affects EVERY aspect of your fucking life. And medicines that treat the pain very often only lessen the symptoms that occur before and after.

So when I say I am disabled and then I start talking about migraines, I don’t ever want to fucking hear someone say “headaches aren’t disability”. I will actually deck you across the face you fucking prick.
