it’s time to stop waiting to experience life. don’t wait to be at a perfect weight so you can go to the beach or wear a pretty dress or accept invitations to places. dont wait for summer to plan adventures for yourself, take pictures of your friends or glow up into your dream self. don’t wait for the perfect moment to say kind thoughts that pop into your head. don’t wait for a flash of inspiration to learn a new language, complete your assignment, or write the first excerpt of your book. don’t wait for the confidence to sign up for something great that thrills you yet terrifies you, especially when no one else seems to believe in you. don’t wait for the courage to confess your love to the person who makes your day glow the softest pink, or turn away from a person whose words cut you deeply and make you feel worthless at night. don’t wait for the weekend to do little things that make you feel happy. give permission for yourself to enjoy every day, and every moment, just as you are.

you are going to be okay. it’s going to take some time, but you are growing. you are healing. things may hurt now, they may be so scary but don’t worry those things can’t last forever. sadness and fear are temporary, it’s the happiness and love that we remember forever. 

soon you will be rich in happiness with an abundance of love. until that day comes, and it will, you need to trust in the journey. trust in the downfalls, in the failures because they are turning you into the beautifully shining soul you will be in the future.

The last couple of days have been rough. I’ve been feeling extremely stuck but I’m going to push past this and keep fighting.

my friend said that whenever she has a bad feeling about her body/appearance, she asks herself “who profits off of this emotion?” and i really love how simple and incisive that is

The middle of recovery is awful. It does not feel good. There are moments where it will be clear why you are doing this, ones that will take your breath away. But a majority of the time you will question everything, your thoughts will be racing so much that you will feel like you can’t breathe. You will spend countless days wondering why things can’t be quiet, wondering why you are bothering to work so hard when not fighting would be effortless. Recovery does not feel good. If you are looking around you and are ashamed because you are not in love with this process, please, listen to me. Take a deep breath- It’s okay. It’s okay to hate it. It’s okay to say it sucks. It’s okay to want to give up, to struggle immensely, to be angry, to be uncomfortable (you should be!). and it’s okay to not understand why your smile still feels empty when your stomach is full again. Recovery does not feel good. For goodness sake, I hate it!!! Do not mistake my positivity for perfection. I am not walking through this fire gracefully. I burn and fall and become ashes. And every morning I rise and face the flames over and over again.

So please, do not beat yourself up if you are feeling like a failure for not being happy and perfect. Healing is not linear. And you are still brave.
