hey all. I’m a disabled south american trans woman who could really use some help. recently my only reliable source of income fell through and I’m worried I might have to go back to living with my abusive mother. Not rude at all 😁 Two-Spirit is a pan-Indigenous term for Indigenous individuals who are gender diverse (can also cover sexual diversity, and intersex) Who within Indigenous circles uses the term Two-Spirit and why may vary for a plethora of reasons.

Many tribes have terms more specific to their culture that may also be used but Two-Spirit is often used as a quick reference term inclusive of tribe or culturally specific terms. (Hope that made sense 😅)

With my people it encompasses my gender and sexual diversity along with my plurality and being intersex. 😁

if i showed these flags to you and asked you to guess what it is, you wouldn't say "hmmm well i don't know of any flags that use blue, white, and Lavender-Wisteria Purple so im truly drawing a blank here" you would say "that kind of looks like the trans flag" because the trans flag is well-designed and is easily recognizable despite variations and imperfections that may come with everyday depictions and recreations (as a well-designed flag should be). nobody is "gaslighting" you into thinking the purple flowers in fern's hair were colorpicked straight from the trans flag by simply pointing out that, given the context of how that character was being portrayed, it would not at all be far-fetched if these colors were meant to (additionally) symbolize transfemininity

Do not quit alcohol cold turkey

Do not suddenly stop drinking alcohol as a new years resolution if you have been consistently using alcohol most days

Your body gets used to the presence of the alcohol as a sedative in your system

Suddenly removing the sedative you are chemically accustomed to is like suddenly removing the wall you are leaning on - you will topple over

You brain electricity gets overexcited

This causes seizures

This causes sudden onset dementia (Wernicke's encephalopathy)

This causes brain damage

If you use alcohol often (even in moderate amounts)

Or in large amounts

Or you have ever noticed you get shakey tremors and anxious when you stop drinking

Then your body is chemically dependant and you need to be very careful coming off alcohol otherwise you will cause brain damage

Slowly wean down the amount you drink over days or weeks

Talk to a doctor about your goals to quit and ask about support options

Medically supported withdrawal is a lot safer

If alcohol withdrawal goes badly there is a 15% chance it will kill you.

Do not go this alone

You deserve to be safe

Yes, when the original post is deleted from the server (not just the blog, but the Tumblr servers), there is no root post for notes to be added onto, and also no root post for time to be counted from, so it starts from zero.
