if i had a nickel for every time an early access creator accused a free creator of copying them well i’d have quite a bit but isn’t it strange how greed eventually makes a person so incredibly paranoid
and while i'm at it, what i've come to realize with early acces and paywalling is that has become so normalized in ts4 community is this model was never meant to be sustainable. yet some creators seem to put all of the pressure on the consumer to pay compensation when this is a hobby we are all doing for free. i will never give my money for someone who has clearly never given a damn about the people who are apart of this community. i'm glad we're realizing how harmful and incredibly greedy some creators are but i also want people to realize that the consumer will always hold the power. don't let anyone guilt trip you into thinking that recolored assets from game, broken meshes, repetitive sets, broken mods, ai-gen cc that looks like absolute garbage- need i continue? anyways don't let anyone guilt you into believing you are responsible for their livelihoods when in reality it has been show time and time again, they do not value the labor you’ve put into earning that dollar. please understand this before you find the need to defend an adult who is very much capable of that.
and for the creators who have chimed in with their excuses just know we hear you loud and clear. what you have told us is that “as a creative” you feel entitled to making money off of a game that you didn’t even make from a small studio that prides themselves off of free dlcs and content. get a grip. have some integrity or what’s left of it but we will not tolerate it.

Really sad to see. They worked for years to get their game off the ground. Gave us a great starting point and there's already paid early access mods. 😔

Since when was making mods a form of compensatory outlet? Mods were well known to be a hobby. A passionate art form fanbase’s would create to evolve and expand their favorite games and share that amongst their fellow community. NEVER has mods been monetized in any gaming community before the Sims 4.
“If you can’t afford to do this for free, you shouldn’t be doing this at all” is an acceptable refute to your greed. No one is forcing you to make mods and in no way are we obligated to compensate you for your efforts. If your sole purpose to join a community is to make a profit out of it, then you are a narcissist and are not welcomed. Plain and simple.

Mod the Sims accounts compromised; malicious uploads
Beginning March 1, 2026, multiple accounts on Mod the Sims have been compromised. This includes both gameplay mods and CC.
Do NOT download updated or new ts4script files from Mod the Sims. Look at the "Information" tab to find out if there's a script file.
And remember: Safe Simming means remembering that your decor and clothes mods don't have script files!

As an artist, I guess this whole situation is making me a lot more emotive on the matter, but I've reached a point where I don't give a fuck if I come off as dramatic for it.
If you use AI in any capacity, get off my page, unfollow me, and block me.
Some of you using AI to code, fill in gaps for cc, or literally just writing ideas for gameplay/cc is a new level of laziness that needs to be studied at this rate. If you're using AI to code, you've officially just admitted to everyone you couldn't give less of a shit about putting poorly/unchecked coded files into other people's games. DO tell me how you're going to fix them in upcoming updates. Is the AI code gonna be able to work around the absolute spaghetti-shite code that is Sims 4?
If you're using ai to generate swatches for your cc or to fill in gaps you don't want to do, congrats. You're just proving to people that you've lost the love of the game with this stuff and just wanna pump shit out for the sake of pumping shit out. Is burnout a thing? Yep! Absolutely. I've had it multiple times. Taking a break and changing your scenery is the solution, not half-assing your work and serving it on a questionable plate. If you plan a piece of cc with the intention to skip so many of those steps, are you sure you even wanna make it in the first place? If you're using ai to give you ideas for gameplay or cc. I legit have nothing tame to say to you. Pinterest is free and scrolling on here to find gameplay ideas is...... -checks notes-, also free. Play another game if this one is currently making you creatively bankrupt.
The fact that I have to double-check almost everything I download now is a little sad. I'm seeing an influx of creators who used to make their stuff A to Z from scratch, now filling in gaps of their work with AI, which tells me that they're completely fine with just giving that kind of quality for players who have loved and (in some cases) supported their work for YEARS. It's distasteful.
What happened to making/creating stuff here for the genuine sake of just, having fun? Never in a million years would I ask chatgpt to give me a mesh to texture, because the idea of learning to make it, falling face flat a couple of times from failing, and eventually getting it right is unironically the most human and artistically pleasant part of it.
Don't come into my comments going "if its not your thing just ignore it". You're right, and I will. But I will also choose to publicly shame the people using a 'tool' that is currently taking away jobs, polluting our air, destroying people's neighborhoods, ridding areas of their clean water, causing people psychoses back and forth, AND statistically making us dumber.
Wake up and educate yourselves, or rot into the delusion. I'm done being tame about this topic.

Hi hi!
Yeah I decided to come back, no it wasn't cause EA decided to eat dirt... the timing was just insane on their part (decided it over the weekend lmfao).
Hate to admit but I was starting to miss the community (despite its........ ways at times LMAO). My inbox is LOADED with a bunch of super sweet asks and tbh I just wanna keep them in there, but I'll try and slowly go through them in the next week or so. I am still navigating cc making and art (@j3llyfish-art) cause I still want to try to get myself back into some old (good) habits, so my posting here may not be as frequent as before. I gotta give some love to my poor abandoned drawing hand... even tho I hate her sometimes LMAO.
That being said, I'm gonna be just as annoying and petty on here, don't worry about that 🤣. Seriously tho, I've kinda reached an i dont give a fuck point after some talking, reflection and much needed consultations, I'm going to exist and post here as I please, thank you very much, LMAO.
